We stayed for a week in October 2019 - the staff were excellent with very good English (shout out to Claudia in particular!) no stone was un-turned to make sure we had a great stay - from organizing an excellent walking tour, to making helpful suggestions on where to go and how to navigate the city and it's peculiarities! It's a lovely homely base which is clean and comfortable. The breakfast was lovely - yummy fresh fruit, homemade bread, eggs as you like. Really felt like home and made for lovely sanctuary for our stay. :)
We stayed at ArteHotel for six days , end of Feb-March 2. The hotel is conveniently located near the Linea / Paseo street corner with many good restaurants and bars within walking distance. The whole premises are nicely furnished, with a mix of modern/ Cuban style and artworks. From the friendly reception to the clean and lovingly themed rooms (we had the 'music' room), from the tasty breakfast to the helpful employees, everything was exceptional ! Sometimes there was even real free internet access, which is still rare commodity in Cuba. Mr. Garrido, the manager, whom we got to know during our one-week stay, and his staff made us feel like at home. Wish we could have stayed longer... highly recommended !!!
Travelling most of my life, due to the nature of my job and mine, this time I had the chance to stay in one of the most human hotels ever! A place is its people, so I'll start from the personnel, that was really caring, sharing, polite and friendly in a genuine way, ready to cover any need, solve any problem, inform, advice. The owners, both warm people and famous artists, turned this building into an artistic home for all. Great breakfast, beautiful bedrooms (each one dedicated to a different art), absolutely clean, silent, full of character and yet modern. First time I miss a hotel! If you are looking for a home in Havana, this is the place!
We had a great 3 night stay at the Artehotel. The location in the Vedado area of Havana was good, but did require a taxi to get into the Old town - which took about 10 mins and costing between 6-8cuc. Our room was spacious and quite comfortable. Breakfast in the morning was great and included fresh fruit, juice, coffee, toast, and a choice of eggs, including a great ham and cheese omelette. It turned out to be one of the better breakfasts we had during our stay in Cuba. Staff were very friendly, helpful, and they gave good advice about local attractions and organised our shared taxi (collectivo) to Cienfuegos. We would definitely recommend the hotel!
I hesitate to describe ARTeHotel as a hotel because our 3 day stay was more like staying in the house of good friends. The staff were so welcoming and attentive. Our room was large with wonderful high ceilings. Everything worked - shower, plumbing, AC etc. This is not always what one experiences in the more established, and much more expensive Havana hotels. Taking breakfast on the terrace was a delight. The decor - exquisite photography and the antiques - is beautiful. Not to mention peaceful sleeps in a comfy king size bed. The hotel is a little out of the old centre of town but in an 'arty' area most interesting with v. good eating places easy walking distance. But best of all is the wonderful staff who made our first visit to Havana so memorable. If you are seeking something a bit different - book now. There are only six bedrooms.…
