The room was fairly basic but the beds were great. We stayed twice, in two separate rooms and both times the beds were brilliant and the best we had in Cuba. The hotel only has 1 rooms and is very well located in the Old Town and only 25 yards from one of the main squares. Breakfast was fruit and then eggs, either omelette, fried or scrambled. The hotel has a really cute courtyard and you can have breakfast outside. Plenty of (very) hot water and did everything we needed. Would definitely stay again and can highly recommend.
We stayed there a few years ago. It was wonderful. The rooms are spacious, well appointed and the staff helpful. they have a courtyard cafe where you can get meals, and when we were there, there was live music at night. It is right next to Plaza Vieja and within walking distance of all of Old Havana.
It is bang in the middle of Havana vieja, a gorgeous old building that even if in need of some maintenance reminds you of the old colonial past. Our room was spacious and clean, our breakfast nicely served in the outdoor patio, cooked on the spot, good coffee. Nice staff
Not really the hotel's fault but first evening too late to book a breakfast for early start, but room up small flight of stairs and air con on sub zero!! No window. second time same not room 5 but 6, breakfast basic, but lady kept sweeping rubbish etc right by my table and fed birds with bread and another lady told me off, most unwelcoming...
The hotel is in the center of old Havana and in the middle of a residential area populated by "real cubans" The Calle Santa Ignacio on which it is runs from the waterfront right into a dramatic square filled with color, life and activity. 6 blocks one way you are at the water and the marvelous San Jose Craft market (a must visit) and one block the other way in the square. The hotel style is typical old Spanish and similar to NOLA french quarter. The experience in many ways is similar although uniquely Cuban The rooms are large, dark and cool. There is TV and AC but no iron or ironing board. The shower is good but the bed in # 6 a little soft. Miguel and Peter at the front desk (M-F) are a charm and speak good English. They are very helpful and pleasant as are all the staff The included breakfast is a FULL meal with fruit, eggs and lots of bread. It is eaten in the open courtyard - excellent. One can walk to the most important areas in the old city but a $15.00 city tour in a CoCo taxi is wonderful - be careful though if you want to keep to the 15 for 1 hour deal as they may suggest lunch which is at a tourist trap and then suddenly turns into 2 hours for 30 plus tip (which is expected) and a $50.00 lunch (for 2) The same experience can be taken in one of the many old cars - many convertibles - same price and same deal. They all seem to have a pre-prescribed route. The hop-on hop off bus with takes a 2 hour tour around much of old and new Havana is worth while too at $10 CUC (87 pesos to 1 US) but be sure where you hop off. We hopped off and never saw another bus at that stop again although they say thye run every 20 mins. Good to check. We had to take a 10CUC taxi ride make to the hotel. Overall a wonderful and fairly inexpensive vacation in a truly different and friendly place BTW - THEY DON'T LIKE TRUMP in case your asked…
