Detailed Reviews
The hotel was immaculately kept, with fresh flowers and pretty details. Breakfast on the garden terrace, with white linen embroidered table cloths was so old world, complete with hummingbirds to entertain us while we dined... we were transported...cafe con leche is my new fave!!

Relying heavily on reviews we read here, we also made advance contact with Javier asking if he could arrange our tours and accomodation for 4 nights and five days. This included one night at La Reserva’s sister accomodation at Trinidad. We truly could not have been rewarded more. La Reserva is simply relaxing, comfortable, sensationally clean and the staff are just lovely. The tours and Trinidad accomodation Javier arranged were first class and covered absolutely everything we were looking forward to experiencing in Cuba and more. Javier personally accompanied us a couple of times along with guides and the inimitable and caring driver Alfredo. My daughter and I had the most wonderful time every minute of the stay.
Shout outs to Elier for the brilliant time he provided us in the Vinales Valley, Atner for his fascinating local knowledge and guiding in Trinidad and surrounds, and the most delightful and knowledgeable, Gallienus, for her wonderful old Havana tour on our last morning. These people, all arranged by Javier, were very intelligent, personable and enthusiastic ambassadors for their country, and whom we will never forget. Thank you!
We recommend La Reserva most highly and in particular- Javier. He is an incredible young man who will not let you down.

I stayed in a big room with fan and AC, with original art on the wall. I walk with a cane and braces, so accessible is very important. The room was on the ground floor. It had a walk-in shower with grab bar.
La Reserva is beautifully renovated casa, with rooms surrounding a garden. Breakfast is provided. There are excellent meals and music some nights. The place was very clean.
I went for a week as part of a Nation Magazine tour. We enjoyed lectures on Cuban architecture and history, visits to dance studios, artists and musicians. And excellent food. The tour was arranged by Cuba Educational Travel.
Since my trip was paid in advance, I don't know what the hotel cost. I always had hot water in my shower; however I heard that hot was sometimes unavailable in other rooms.
We also took an overnight to Viñales.

+1
I was hoping the previous trip advisor excellent reports would turn out to be accurate / my and my wife’s expectations were all met and exceeded. As Brits now living in the US we got to enjoy 3 nights in a lovely large king room in this converted mansion on a quite (although bumpy) street. Our educational visit was greatly enhanced by the team at this hotel. Whinneys pre arrival communications and constant touch points to ensure we were happy is usually what you only find in the best hot wet is in the world. The young ladies looking after us daily over breakfast or lunch are all true rock stars. We paid for our room through Expedia with no issues. Wi-Fi drops a lot and not fast enough to work with but did enable is to stay in touch with home and our Cuban guide. The gardens are lovely, common areas have tall ceilings and quiet spots to hide away with a book. It’s great to give this place my highest rating which I rarely give to anyone.

Feels like you have walked into a dream as you enter thru a large wooden gate and continue thru the entry with artistic pieces lining the way (furniture especially!) - you find yourself In a gorgeous intimate restaurant with a huge open kitchen. The service and food were impeccable. I had the lamb shank with an incredible sauce and it melted in my mouth. Others had fish (marlin) and loved it as well. Very accommodating to all and staff spoke very good English. Highly recommend!

Thank you so much Holly for your beautiful and gratifying comment. Since we opened the hostel we always wanted to be able to offer a gastronomic service at the same level of the house, the garden and our native culinary traditions. When the intention is to share the best we have with all those who visit us, it is much easier that the dishes turn out great and that the natural welcome of the staff makes them feel at ease. The pleasure is all ours!

Wonderful small boutique hotel in old neighborhood. Garden setting for all meals. The staff is wonderful- some bilingual but all are efficient. We enjoyed the daily bkfast with fresh fruits- Cuban breads- and excellent coffee. Room spacious.

I would recommend anyone to stay here. It's safe, very convenient, peaceful and clean. Staff is friendly and helpful in many ways. Special thanks to Johns the concierge who made our stay in Havana even better with the numerous recommendations, from places to eat, memorable nightlife experiences and daily relaxation. Thanks to Weiney for the nice welcoming on day one. We stayed at 3 other places in Cuba and this was my favorite for lodging and feeling at home.

We stayed at La Reserve Vedado for a few nights during a recent trip to Cuba. It was a fantastic experience. The staff was super-attentive and engaging. Our dinner in the courtyard was delicious and magical. Breakfasts in the same courtyard were delicious and a fantastic way to start our days. Our room was large, classic in style and had a fantastic from porch. The bathroom was large and had a large shower. This property doesn't provide the amenities of a large-scale hotel but delivered on everything we needed.

Our bill was 7000 CPs so should have been around $35 US but we were charged $43. We only had $20s so gave them $60, the change was $17 (tip already added though we would usually tip more) and they gave us 2000 CPs or approx $10. My advice would be to make sure you have Cuban Pesos if you stay here. It's a shame because the hotel looks lovely and the food was good. Just felt cheated both ways on the exchange rate - we ate out the entire time we were in Cuba and this never happened anywhere else.

The staff went above and beyond. The concierge was the best we have ever experienced in all of our domestic and abroad traveling. They were attentive and always available to cater to our wants and needs. They had the best recommendations for sights and activities and they picked the best dinner spots for us each night. They had a classic car ready for us each time we were ready to venture out. The food and drink service at the hotel were top notch. The hotel grounds were immaculate. The staff very attentive and always making sure we were doing alright. We had our reservations about visiting Cuba as Americans but this trip far exceeded our expectations and it was due to the high level and quality of service we received with this hotel. I’d highly recommended to anyone visiting Cuba to come to La Reserva Vedado
