Blachi Koko apartments are truly unique, reflecting the inviting influence of Caribbean colonial living, in a private setting, offering a very special alternative to traditional hotel experiences. Proprietors, Matthieu Foudraine and Laetitia Sernaglia have carefully renovated and restored this classic Antillean colonial property, creating 3 two-bedroom apartments and 2 one-bedroom apartments. Each residence is appointed with a private kitchen, full bath, air-conditioning, and contemporary furnishings, accented with colors and styles elegantly influenced by Matthieu and Laetitia's worldly travels.

Stayed for 7 days and was very impressed. Property is like a small little compound(4 apartments I believe) that is safe, secure and close to everything. We stayed on the second floor which was a 2 bedroom and it is huge. King size tempur-pedic beds with its own a/c in each room. The patio was large enough to hold a party of 20 people. Full sized table and chairs, couple of padded chaise loungers , a hammock and a partial view of the ocean about 100 feet away. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything you need. Pots, pans, dishes eating utensils, coffee maker, microwave, fridge, cooktop etc and it was a eat in kitchen to boot. Private parking, you can walk to everything, within 5 min. The beach, restaurants, supermarket, casino but the best is the location for the shore diving. Half of the shore diving sites to the north the others to the south. The hosts were great. They picked us up at the airport and took us to get our car rental. Gave great tips on things to do and places to eat which was really helpful. My only complaint would be the check out time of 10am. Imo this is too early. All the major airlines( AA, Delta, United )arrive around 2:30-3pm and depart around 3-4pm. If it was me, if it came down to it, I think I would rather have new guests wait an extra hour if the room wasnt ready than to make departing guests leave 4 hours early. Just my 2c. Still amazing value for the money.

Room Tip: 2nd floor is more quiet than first floor, plus the breeze is great.

Our second stay last November in ground floor two bedroom apartment with gazebo a matter of steps away from the hard, tidal beach. Our side of Blachi Koko was on Kaya Alemania with Carib Inn on the other side and Divi Flamingo the far side of Carib. The place remains convenient, relaxed and quiet. We slept well and enjoyed our time at the property. Since we stayed before the place seems to have been opened up a bit by the removal of a palm tree and the addition of a very comfortable hammock. The dark blue of the outside walls reminds me of the colour of the deep water. Some monarch butterflies appeared during our visit. Janna was very helpful and provided us with information and support. A real plus. Mostly there were only a few visitors to the beach here, people who seemed locals and a sprinkling of cruise passengers taking phone pictures. Encouraged by a suggestion on the forum I swam and snorkelled on several occasions from the ‘beach’ south to Plaza resort and on past to a bit before the red double-decker bus - taking in shallows from Calabas reef and 18th Palm. I went no further because the water visibility went to zero. There and back I saw quite a range of fish including near Plaza a group of large chub and a group of barracuda near the drop off there. The broken-off pier off Plaza provided shelter for a mix of fish including some small horse-eyed jacks, grunts and schoolmasters. Also, patches of fire coral. Closer to ‘home’ tarpon appeared several times plus a lone queen triggerfish intent on moving small rocks around. On one occasion a school of what looked like redear sardines took refuge under Carib Inn's pier. I swam north from the beach once, looking towards Chachacha Beach and the cruise dock. I was discouraged from going far because of the 3 boat docks in between – one at Carib Inn and 2 at Divi. To be fair the boats seemed to be driven slowly and carefully in shallow water. We also drove to other sites to snorkel as well. We ate in and out. Recommended.

We had a wonderful time at Blachi Koko. The owner couple Laetitia and Matthieu were extremely friendly and welcoming to us. They never seemed annoyed when we had questions about anything and always had time for a friendly conversation. The apartment had the highest standard, the rooms were cleaned up every second day and it was only ten minutes by foot from the city centre. We had our own outside chill out area with a pavilion and a dinner table. It was perfect all over the day for our outdoor meals and in the evening for a glass of wine after a day full of activities. One thing we really appreciated was the mosquito nets over all windows. The other villas we stayed at during our trip had no mosquito nets, so you had to decide between having the windows closed all day or being bitten all over the body by annoying mosquitos. It was a relief to have those nets over the windows. Only one minute by foot away from the villa we had a little beach. It is perfect for snorkeling. You can see a lot of different fishes and carols. But if you go into the sea with small children it is recommended to carry them out in the water because of the many corals. I can only recommend Blachi Koko from the bottom of my heart. My family and I are deeply grateful to Laetitia and Matthieu for this great experience.

After so many visits at this wonderful place we still are amazed how friendly and complete the place is. Wonderful beds, cold water, ice cubes, rose, polar-beer and Coca Cola in the fridge. Everything clean and fresh. Personal welcomed by the host. They really make you feel ‘at home’. During the stay always a friendly word and great team of cleaners. Never been afraid to ask for info, help, tips! As before: it is hard to go home after staying at this place!! Thanks Laetitia and Matthieu and Jana

It has taken me a while to submit this review as I've been so busy shoveling snow but better late than never! Or is it.... I really didn't want to do one as I would like to keep this gem a secret! Blachi Koko is that & more! From the moment our plane landed till we sadly were transported back to the airport to leave, Laetitia & Matthieu & their staff thought of everything. Blachi Koko was so welcoming & our apartment, Kadushi, was the perfect place for the 4 of us. All that we needed for an amazing visit was already available to us, no need to ask, they have thought of everything. It's location is a minute from great snorkeling and a short walk to groceries & to the town center with all it has to offer. Thanks gain Laetitia & Matthieu for making our holiday PERFECT! Till we meet again.....
