This was the BEST experience! We stayed at the EcoLodge for four glorious days. It was so amazing to see the other side of Bonaire. I can't say enough about how much I respect Hans' philosophy of getting visitors to see the arid, dry, desert part of Bonaire. We had the whole lodge to ourselves. And, it was an amazing... More

It is always great to hear people enjoy the lodge the way it is. I am happy I could show you the real Bonaire and that you liked it !! Thanks a lot !! More

Get the best of two worlds. The lodge is two miles (4km) down a well maintained dirt road in the Kunuku (think desert scrub) but only 10 - 18 minutes from restaurants, dive shops, and great diving. Once you arrive you'll be greeted by 3 dogs. You walk by the two small pig pens and the chicken coop. Lizards and... More

Recently we spent ten days in Hans Voerman's Auriga Eco Lodge in the inlands - Kunuku - of Bonaire. The Eco Lodge is a transformed stable on Hans's ranch. It has two nice bedrooms, a spacious kitchen/dining room several terraces including a star gaze roof top terrace and a bathroom. An addtional outdoor shower completes the lodge. All are in... More

We learned about the Hans Voerman's Auriga Ecolodge when we booked a kajak tour in the mangroves with Hans the other year. It's perfect for nature loving people. The Ecolodge is build in a way, that uses the trade winds as natural air condition. Lots of exotic birds can be observed! It's a luxurious stay if you love nature and... More

We had a nice stay at Hans' place. Clean, a lot of space and privacy, and everything needed was available. Hans is friendly and available to help out or to give tips. We also went kayaking in a mangrove with Hans, which was a pleasant experience. When you rent the place, you have the place to yourself. Top choice.

Typically we do not like to go back to previous destinations as places tend to change and not always for the better. A prejudice so untrue for Auriga Ecolodge !! After we were one of the first guests in 2010 to this place, we returned in February only to be delighted again. This is the place to stay if you... More

My wife and I stayed at the Auriga Ecolodge over the 2014/2015 New Year to celebrate our honeymoon. We were able to view the fireworks launched from along the coast from atop the Ecolodge's third-story stargazing post. Truly an incredible view at night with the stars and a 360-deg view around the island! The owner, Hans, is very welcoming and... More

We stayed 8 nights in May in this spacious, comfortable place, away from the sea but close to iguanas and birds. Friendly Hans and his animal family (3 pigs, 4 dogs) were very good companions. Our mornings started with coffee and climbing onto the roof platform to count iguanas and watch the birds. The outdoor shower was fantastic after a... More

Ecolodge is a wonderful place for people who are looking for a different experience and who love nature. The lodge is a spacious, romantic dwelling with lots of lovely corners (incl. a hammock) to relax. Two dining areas (inside on the ground floor, and open air on the top floor), two showers (one in the bathroom, one outdoors), two bedrooms... More

My husband and I truly enjoyed Auriga Ecolodge. Fabulous privacy and quiet about 15 minutes from town in the 'bush'. We had the place to ourselves, with Hans on call with the ringing of a bell if needed. We awoke to the rich sounds of birds each morning and enjoyed the sunsets on the viewing platform. The housing is simple... More

“You'll have your pick of a bedroom on the first floor next to the kitchen or a bedroom on the second floor above the kitchen. We chose the upper bedroom, which had wonderful airflow through the windows at night, and we especially enjoyed the sounds of the bush and the heavy downpours at night. There is also a deck with a hammock and table on this level.”
