The Lizard Inn was truly the perfect spot for us and fantastic value. Our regular room had everything we needed - great shower, fridge, closet space. We used the shared kitchen to make breakfasts. Nespresso-style coffee always available - bliss. Renee is the perfect host - his sincere enjoyment in creating an inclusive and well run hotel is evident in everything he does - always available to provide info, help, make a reservation. The bbq dinner he made for the guests was a highlight, and allowed us to get to know our neighbours. We were a short stroll to the boardwalk and restaurants, if not swaying in hammock, after a day of snorkelling. Best chill and beautiful vacation, thanks to Bonaire and the Lizard Inn. We'll be back.

Stayed here over the xmas and ny period and had an awesome time! Rene is a fantastic host - told me everything there is to do on the island and we even went diving together for an afternoon. Lizard Inn has a really nice sociable atmosphere with spacious communal area for drinks with the other guests. Also a communal kitchen and grill if you want to cook your own food. Rooms are spacious and get cleaned every day. Beds comfortable. And superb value for money! I will definitely stay here again next time in Bonaire!

The lizard feels like home. Rene will do almost anything for you, even take divers diving which is brilliant. As Rene's guests you get 20% discount from dive packages at dive friends Bonaire. The studio was perfect and had everything you need...fan and aircon work great. A lovely central gathering place to hook up with other guests, make new friends, and arrange to dive with others. Rene puts on a lovely barbecue and encourages all the guests to socialise which is really lovely and we have made lasting friends here. We cannot understand how anyone could give a negative review to this place!!! A long walk to town? No!! It's a beautiful 10 minute sunset stroll along the seafront to be sipping cocktails in Karel's bar! Maybe people who wrote that are not used to walking...!? We'll keep coming back !

This is our second stay at the lizard and we will keep on coming! Rene is a great host, warm, friendly and helpful, as well as a very knowledgeable and experienced shore diver full of helpful tips and info. Studios are great value, well equipped well maintained and very clean. Perfect of divers as Rene has a great secure rinsing/drying room for all your gear. There is always a lovely warm and friendly atmosphere here, nice central area with sofas and hammocks, lovely clean pool too. It is in a quiet neighbourhood and less than 5 minutes walk to the sea and very convenient for town centre too. We love the lizard!

My friends and I planned a trip to Bonaire and they recommended the Lizard Inn. I normally stay at one of the more 'well known" places on the island (Buddy/Divi/Captn Don) but I am always open to new experiences. I read the reviews prior to my arrival and also had the advantage of my friends rave reviews - but I admit my expectations were low - everyone has differing opinions on what they find perfect. Upon my arrival - I was greeted by Rene, the owner and I was immediately made to feel at home. The location is just off the main road to town - but it is walkable. The main entrance has a very secure gate and there is a large gear room near the entrance so you do not have far to lug your gear. The Office has water and beer (for purchase) and books available for loan. There is a TV in the office. The courtyard has a large Palapa and a small pool. The Rooms surround the stone courtyard. The landscaping is nicely maintained (by Rene) and it is evident he takes pride in his establishment. My friends had a a room w a kitchen - my room was a basic room. The room was absolutely satisfactory. It had the basics - Safe, TV, WIFI, hot water, Mini Fridge and a pot to make instant coffee. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The closet served as both closet and armoire. The AC was a split system and was nice and quite and efficiently kept the room at a perfect temperature. The courtyard under the PALAPA was where my friends and I gathered for lunch after our morning dives and again later in the evening for cocktails and dinner. Since my friends had the kitchenette we cooked a few nights. The Palapa had a large table with enough chairs for most of the guests, 2 Swing hammocks and some cushioned sofa and arm chairs. The Pool was sparkling clean and provided a nice option to cool off after sitting in one of the sunloungers around the pool. Rene, as a host, is very engaging and hospitable. Each day we returned to the Lizard Inn felt like going home to your own home - there is something so inviting about the vibe at the Inn. One evening Rene was cooking for some of his guests and invited us to join but we had dinner plans - but the meal looked wonderful. there is ample parking out front and Rene has arranged discounts for car rental w AB car rental so be sure to ask about that discount. Rene also has an arrangement with DIVE FRIENDS for a discount on diving. Repeat customers at the INN also receive a discount. if you are looking for a SAFE - LAID BACK vibe, reasonable prices and no amenities other than WIFI and a Pool (and some discount opportunities) the LIZARD INN is a great choice. If you want more commercial options like on site restaurant, waterfront, sunrise/sunset view and a balcony - this is not the right choice for you. AS for me - I will return to the Lizard Inn.
