This was our third visit to Divi Flamingo Resort in the past 7 years. Each time we came we were part of a very large dive group. Our first visit 7 years ago was pleasant and there were no issues. Our second visit was in 2022 and a third of our dive group contracted COVID during our stay. We only got in 4 days of diving until the resort closed down diving for the last couple of days. Although we paid for 18 dives, we only got to dive 12 dives. We were not refunded for the dives we didn’t get to take. We just returned from our third trip with our dive group to Divi Flamingo. We were notified the check out time was 10 am which was ludicrous. On the day before we were to checkout, my husband and I spoke with the manager asking if we could possibly get a late room checkout because he had a virtual business call or could the manager arrange a room on the premises where he could take the call in a quiet environment. The manager told us we would have to pay an additional $25 per hour to stay in our room and he also said he could not tell us if any other meeting rooms were available at that time. It was quite disappointing the manager was not more helpful in my husband’s circumstance. Our dive group has been coming to Divi Flamingo with a large group sometimes 2x a year bringing in huge revenue to the resort, for the past 25 years! Being asked to pay $25 per hour for a late check out is extremely petty when the resort makes a lot of money off our large group. Additionally, some of the staff at the resort were extremely polite while others were very rude. On the third day when we checked in at breakfast, the hostess insisted we have our room key card information even though we were with our dive group. We had not been asked for this on the previous days. She berated us and told us we had to go back to the room and get it. She then said she would remember us the rest of our visit, but she didn’t and asked us for it everyday. Honestly, this third visit left us with the feeling we may not return to Divi Flamingo again with our dive group. Why would we when we could spend our money in other diving resorts who appreciate the visitors?

Excellent amenities and location. You could spend the whole week on the resort but why? The capital is walking distance so everything is close. 5 min to the airport. It's not a big island so really everything we wanted to see was easy to get to. The food at the resort is excellent and the staff is friendly. I would definitely stay here again without looking into another place.

This resort also has a scuba diving operation. I dove there recently and sustained a very serious knee injury. Why?? Because the dive masters didn’t put a rug with tread on the dive platform (the rug was in the rear of the boat). The platform was very slippery, and I fell. The crew also had soapy water barrels for rinsing masks and cameras right in front of the dive platform. The manager wrote a letter stating to reimburse me for 5 dives/2,0erday. Divi Flamingo still has not sent me a check for my missed dives. To this day. I now have to walk with a leg brace. On another dive, The boat captain fell asleep and left 19 diver stuck in the water for almost 45 minutes. Several were getting nervous and were running low on their air supply. What a dangerous group to be running a dive operation.?

This is a wonderful dive operation! The resort was one of the original dive operations on the island. So, by definition it's old, but it's very well maintained. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The restaurants are enjoyable. The dive staff are super! We had Denise and Ruud. Again I love this place! Have enjoyed visiting here over twenty times.

The cruise ship dock there. The most friendliest staff members in the island chain. The dive areas are most pristine. Some areas have some sand. Very clean. There are meeting rooms for workshops Piers for lounging and sunbathing

First, the staff are great, so my review has nothing to do with their level of service, which I found to be adequate on the hospitality side of things and exceptional when it come to the onsite dining and other facilities, like the dive shop. The problem is that the resort sits right next to the main drag, and I call it a "drag" because the locals use it as a drag strip to race around at 3AM in the morning. It's loud--really loud, with excessive revving to the point where the engines are hitting the rev-limit and then backfiring. This happened every night of our 7 day trip! There are also houses right along the gated entrance to the resort that our suite backed up to. One house has 2 dogs that are left out at night and they bark non-stop. I wasn't expecting blissful peace and quiet, as I knew there was a casino on the grounds, but the casino ended being pretty tame in comparison to the homes and town right next to the resort. All I can say is if you're a light sleeper, forget it. Moderate sleeper, roll of the dice, heavy sleeper or don't care about sleep disruption, you're good to go. As for the rooms. They're just OK. Not exceptionally cleaned or modern, but I've had a lot less on island vacations. I did expect more considering we went with the suite, but wasn't a deal breaker. Just don't expect wifi to be consistent, which wasn't a big deal for me, but my 13yo son was crushed :). Frankly, I will never go to this resort again, but I would definitely consider going back to Bonaire and then walk over to this resort just to snorkel off the dock there. It beats every other snorkel spot I went to on the island. We saw everything from turtles to stonefish, lion fish, sand fish, eels, and a lot more, right there at the resort. We even found a small boat wreck that became a coral bed within 20ft of the shore. Lastly, the food, even buffet, is 5+. We spent way more than we planned on eating at the restaurants on site because everything was so well prepared and delicious. I can't say enough about the food and restaurant staff. My advice to you is, if you go, keep the following in mind: - This is a dive resort so expect a "dive" vibe with a lot of traffic from large dive groups. We had a group of 80 divers when we were there. - Cargo ships on/off load 100 yards from the resort. It didn't both me much but it added to the noise/detract factor. - Cruse ships dock same location as cargo ships, adding tons of foot traffic. - The town was uneventful and didn't offer much culture or excitement. - Don't get a room near the gate that lets you out to the town. - Water shoes a must for kids. Mine almost stepped on a stonefish. - Know that there is no fan in the bathrooms. Always hot, stinky, stuffy in there. I wish I could leave a better review. There are things I loved about the resort and the island, but the noise there at night is like the set of fast and furious.

Thank you for staying with us and for sharing your experience. We are happy to read that you are referring to our staff as great, that they provided exceptional service in our dive shop and restaurants and that you rate our food offerings as a 5+. Our resort is not located next to a race drag. We are located next to downtown Kralendijk and what you may have experienced are island youngsters making noise with their bikes. This does not happen year-round. We did not receive any feedback about this from other resort guests however we do understand that if that sound kept you up that this is indeed very annoying while on vacation. We are happy that you will still return to Bonaire in the future, perhaps one of our newly renovated oceanfront rooms may be more comfortable to you. Thanks again, sunny regards, Celine – General Manager

We have been coming to Divi Flamingo for over 20 years and always stayed in the studio rooms. Our studio room had some issues (broken coffee pot, ceiling fan didn't work, microwave didn't work) that were addressed by maintenance, Pedro showed up and dealt with it with a smile. The pool by the studios has been redone, however, as of end of August, there are no umbrellas or any type of shade. Notice said there was a delay in getting supplies shipped I believe. Cruise ship schedule is posted on the board by the dive shop. They seem to leave at different times. One Friday early evening in town it was a zoo of people and cars, the cruise ship didn't leave until 10 PM. We had an unfortunate issue with the assistant dive shop manager that was addressed and dealt with Divi Corporate after our return. However, it was not the best way to start our vacation though. The dive boats still leave from the South dock, it's a bit of a treck from the studio rooms, about a 4 min walk. First week only two dive boats were scheduled, so not too crowded. Second week 3 boats scheduled to leave at the same time, it was congested and crowded. The divers on our boat always showed up early so we opted for an earlier departure time. It seems staggering departure times may be a good idea in general to avoid this problem. Also, the second week there was some work being done on the dock to provide shade for the lockers and tanks. Not sure why this was being done after all these months. Our Dive masters the first week were Ruud and Denise. As always, they gave detailed briefings and were exceptional in pointing out the beautiful creatures you can find under water. They made our first week of diving lots of fun and safe and it's nice to see Dive masters that are still enthusiastic about diving. The second week our crew was ET and Luis, ET proved to be a seahorse whisperer. We all know they are not easy to spot.... Again, another great week of diving. When we left Divi Flamingo they had started to work on dismantling the old dock. Maybe some later visitors can give an update on the status as it progresses.

This was our second trip to the Divi in BonAire! We travel with Rob Harris & Island Hoppers and it’s always an amazing trip. The management staff is so welcoming and they are easily accessible at all times. The resort is beautiful. The rooms were spacious and clean. The food is wonderful! Darinka made our breakfast for us every day at Divi and she is a true gem! The diving is why we come and it is absolutely phenomenal every time. Ruud & Denise, our weeks dive masters, go above and beyond and they make each and every dive awesome! We are looking forward to the new dive dock being put in place soon and hopefully will be ready when we plan to return in April 2024! We would highly recommend the Divi to any diver coming to BonAire!

I was able to do three superb dives with two of the most capable, knowledgeable, veteran Dive Masters on Bonaire. Denise and Ruud on the good ship Sea Coral. The boat was clean, safe and comfortable and the vibe was upbeat. We left the dock right on time. A stickler about safety, Denise has a very easygoing style and there is an almost endless supply of smiles as she gives the detailed dive briefing. In the water she has the ability to see and point out some of the amazing sea life to be found. Ruud, the quiet man with a mischievous mind is super at keeping newer divers at ease and veteran divers interested. Together, they make a great team and are a real asset to the Divi dive team.
