Absolutely perfect - gorgeous beach bar with every amenity you could hope for and more. Owned by a lovely family with great staff and a really welcoming vibe in a peaceful, historic location. Can’t recommend it enough, to stay or to hang out on a day/evening.
Room badly in need of up dating . Very basic. And over priced for what it is nothing like pictures. As soon as I saw it I wanted to leave, thank goodness only stayed for one night.Food at the bar very good and worth the money good size portion. You will need a car / taxi to get around as it is of the beaten track.very quiet.
Great surfer bar with a superb atmosphere, beers, cocktails and delicious bar food! Oh and it's got stunning views over the beach and sea. We stayed nearby for seven nights and came here for cocktails to enjoy the sun setting on the day. We tried most things on the menu which were all delicious.
Moonraker Beach Hotel is a set of self contained apartments, located approx 4km outside of Oistins, on the South Coast of Barbados. The complex has the apartments plus Surfers Bay bar/restaurant, which is now under new management (within the last month or so), managed by Matt with his crew (including his son Will). Moonraker is a real hidden gem and somewhere we would hope to return to. Each apartment unit has a great view overlooking the sea. The units are very practical with everything you need if you're self catering. Our room was serviced approx every 3rd day, Service team were super friendly and provided excellent advice about the area. We stayed there for 12 glorious days... didn't have a hired car for the entire period, but still managed to get around. There is the local bus taxi service with nearby stop at the Church on St Christophers Rd. Rescue Beach is a short walk, with beautiful sandy beach and fabulous sunsets. Went for a dip there every day in the warm waters and breakers. Silver Sands Beach and Silver Rock beach are just along the coast to the East. Silver Rock beach is very popular with kite surfers and wind surfers. Paddle boarders mostly at Freights bay. Miami Beach near Oistins also very popular. There was entertainment at Surfers Bay bar on the weekend.. an excellent band on the Sunday night. Food in the restaurant was excellent, as was the Rum Punch. Again bar staff were super friendly and efficient. Big Shout Out to Matt and Will, also Lola and Marilyn. We had a really relaxing, chilled and memorable stay at Moonraker and would highly recommend it. …
We decided on Moonraker/Surfers Bay as a wind down to our otherwise quite full on trip to the Caribbean. It was perfect. There is still a lot going on in the area if you choose to surf or do other watersports but our last couple of days were quiet and spent on the small, clean and white beach which is literally steps away from the bar but not overlooked by it. Currently undergoing a change of management there were changes subtly materialising on a daily basis implemented by Matt and his very talented and helpful team. Shout out to Lola and Marilyn who couldn't do enough for us (thank you so much) and appeared to double/triple up in various roles around the hotel. Apartments are clean, equipped with kitchen and bathrooms and all have outside space with seating. The bar/restaurant is nearby and the food and service was great; a typical day's menu was supplemented by a catch of the day, in our case - barracuda and swordfish. We went to relax there and enjoy a laid back vibe - we got that in buckets - but this is definitely a go-to place for the water sports enthusiasts and I hope I will be able to bring some of my surf buddies back here one day to indulge in the breaks just a short distance from the hotel. Thanks again, I can't wait to come back.…
Stayed at Moonraker for a a spot of kitesurfing in Barbados. This is a really nice chilled out sea front property with great bar and food. The staff are incredibly helpful and really can't do enough for you! The studio I stayed in was comfortable and very functional. Whilst not a deluxe property it has everything you need for a comfortable stay and is very clean and secure. If you want island vibes, great local fish and food in the bar and the perfect place to chill then visit Moonraker. It is a few hundred metres to Silver Sands which is one of the main kite spots. Hotel is under very recent new management and you can see that they are going to do a great job. I Recommend this for people who don't want the commercial west coast but want chilled island vibes, good service, comfortable sea view rooms. …
If you are looking for a very chill spot where no one will bother you, this is it. Rustic and shabby chic, this spot is situated right on the south coast of Barbados. Small beach 50 m away, an ok eave right out front and great kite surfing as well. Rooms are clean, somewhat Spartan but the beds were very comfortable. The pool is well designed, deep and shallow areas, ocean views abound. Next door is the Surfer's Bay Beach Bar, one of the best Carribean bars you will find. Great drinks, very reasonably priced, friendly and great views. A good mix of locals and tourists. The owner a very genuine fellow, he aims to please.
We stayed here for 4 nights in Feb 2022. We were initially unsure about whether to book as reviews were mixed, but ultimately were happy with our choice. Moonraker is essentially a collection of self catering apartments on the beach with a shared pool. There is a beach bar on site that serves a limited menu of food and drinks from 1400 til late (note, no breakfast!). The atmosphere is laid back and friendly. When we stayed there was a group made up of a number of couples and also some families with children. The site is ideal, with access to a secluded beach. But aside from this, there is very little in the immediate vicinity and a car is necessary. Moonraker is not a hotel experience but is a great value-for-money option if the luxury West Coast hotels are out of reach. Far better than the slightly naff budget hotels in the area.…
My 5 friends/collegues and I wanted somewhere local to the aiport that we could go to for a few hours prior to our flight. (5/2/2022). Seeing mixed reviews on tripadvisor we were sceptical but went anyway. On arrival we couldn't believe what we were seeing. A typically Caribbean wooden rustic building, small white beach and turquoise ocean. Our idea of paradise! The owner, his family and the staff were very welcoming and friendly. FOOD- The rum punches were lovely (and strong). My veggie burger was absolutely amazing and served with salad and chips/fries. The rest of the group also enjoyed their burger meals. The brownie and ice-cream also went down very well with us! The restaurant had a great menu, I was impressed with the veggie options available. Lovely atmosphere, caribbean and disco music playing. Fairy lights. Plenty of seating options. BEACH- The beach was so natural and beautiful. Flour-like sand and turquoise sea. Which was a 30 second walk away from the restaurant. Grass area complete with swings, area for anyone to do activities like yoga. We did not stay overnight but I think I will be back to stay soon after such a lovely relaxing few hours here. Thank you to all the team for such lovely hospitality and a great day!…
Well, it is not "a hotel" in its traditional sense. It is a little compound with a bar (Surfers' bar), a pool, garden,.. and a complex of some self-catered rooms/small apartments. It is low-key, and friendly-laidback Caribbean style. It is located by the southern tip of Barbados, so always a good wind. It is right at the beach, at the end of a road, so very quiet and isolated. A bit of a walk to the next mini market, but easy to ready by taxi (about US$15-20 from Bridgetown). For me, it outcounts most of the other fancy (and far more crowded hotels) in Barbados. I loved the vibe at the bar too.
