Barbados Beach Club entices travelers with its spacious rooms offering stunning views, despite some concerns over cleanliness and upkeep. The staff's warm and friendly demeanor shines, although encounters with unprofessionalism have marred the experience for a few. Guests are captivated by the lively music and serene beach vistas, yet opinions on the atmosphere are mixed due to maintenance issues. The hotel's value proposition receives a range of reactions, with its prime beachfront location often highlighted as a key perk. Amenities, while basic for its class, are generally appreciated, especially the easy beach access.

Have to say we had a great holiday but it was due to the company we were with.
We didn't pay 5star prices so was very open minded and at times just had to laugh about the mishaps.
On entrance we were informed they had to have a credit card to swipe for $250 bbd for mishaps or damage! Also had to pay a resort tax! Been to other hotels in Barbados and never had to produce a card for this reason. Be advised you cannot sit on your balcony and have a cigarette, you will be fined, there's a very small area to smoke next to the bar which was always packed and there was 5 ashtrays at the bar! The bar run out of alcohol often, in 12 days they never had Bacardi, only a few choice of cocktails, often no Vodka and they even run out of Banks beer which is their local beer! One day there was no water and after sitting in 30 deg heat you need a shower, we were told it was due to the Barbados Government ( didn't quite believe that excuse). Some of our friends didn't have hot water at all for the full length of their holiday. Food was OK but the staff never communicated to each other when they were running out of items. On Sunday there is a roast, but they run out of Yorkshire puddings, OK it was not essential but it got to be the norm that if you didn't go early for the Evening meal you couldn't get all the choices.
Some of the staff were very hard working, Michelle and Morrison get put onto by other members of staff who just want to wander round and day dream or with an attitude. Entertainment is on every night and its not bad at all. There was a welcome bottle of bubbly in the room which was a nice gesture, there's also a fridge in the room. you need to ask to have bedding changed we were there 12 nights and they changed them on the 11th night.Blue beach towels are like gold dust, we left ours on our sunbeds for 20 minutes and they were removed by security, I went and complained to reception and they didn't have any spare to replace with, there is a notice saying towels will be removed after 30 minutes if your not on your bed. After a few hours we were given replacements but if we hadn't of persisted the price of the towel would have been taken off our $250bbd There is a bus goes down to Bridgetown from the hotel but you must book in advance. Oistons is a 20 minute walk away, same as St Lawrence gap. All in all we had a great laugh and yes we would go back but think Management need to look at the way they run things e.g not running out of food and drink and also make sure ALL staff are working and not just a few whom I would guess be very loyal.

We stayed from 9th November 2019 for 14 nights with our daughter (3) when we arrived there seem to be a massive issue with our room. either the hotel had messed up or first choice had not booked a suitable room for all 3 of us! So we sat, exhausted in the hotel reception for nearly an hour after travelling for 12 hours with a ratty toddler in the heat! Not a great start! However once in our room (which we knew we had to move the following day to the correct room) we were able to settle our daughter, grab a quick cocktail from the bar, chill and get an early night. The following day we woke up and went for a walk along the stunning beach and all seemed OK with the world! After a rocky start the staff were kind, helpful and mostly friendly. The food in the buffet was sometimes hit and miss, breakfast was always good and fresh with plenty of choice (the lady on the bacon cooking station was fab!). Lunch was good, the homemade coleslaw and macaroni pie were to die for, always looked forward to that! Dinner was sometimes a bit disappointing with not much choice especially for our daughter but when we asked the chef did cook her some chicken nuggets which were greatly appreciated as was the ice cream that you had to ask for. The pool area was OK but we spent most of our time on the beautiful beach, always plenty of loungers although the guy that put these out could be very grumpy! Our room was always kept very clean and we had a lovely sea view from our balcony. One of the biggest gripes was the only bar in the hotel was always under staffed, the wait for drinks was really long and in turn it made staff and customers annoyed to say the least. Over all we had a fantastic time in Barbados and there is plenty outside of the hotel to do and see, so hop on a reggae bus and get out and see this beautiful island! For the money we paid I would recommend the Barbados Beach Club as it meant as family we could afford Barbados and be extremely comfortable, fed and watered! Oh and listen out for the whistling tree frogs! missed that sound when we got home!

First holiday in 2 years, so we were really looking forward to this.
Stayed in room 302 for 3 weeks, view over 'garden area' & out to sea.
The rooms are large with nice sized balcony, cleaned daily, though there are always some towels missing, never get back what you start with. The quality of the sheets are awful, they must be really old, they are so bobbly from being washed and aged, makes for uncomfortable sleeping.
The food and drink is plentiful, 3 meals a day served plus a 'tea' service at 4pm of sandwiches, cake etc.
Bar drinks, offer basic staples of spirits and a few cocktails, like frozen pina colada, strawberry daquiri.
Christmas day meal was very good, even included brussel sprouts!
New years eve party / entertainment was good.
WiFi was very hit and miss, could get it generally round pool, but not in room.
You have to pay a 30 BBD $ deposit for pool towel per towel, which given the price paid and the fact this is all inclusive really isn't on. The Deposit card for our towels couldn't be located at the end of the 3 weeks, so hope I'm not charged for them, the pool guy, Stevie I think, did come and explain to reception.
All in all our stay was relaxing ( few issues - but manager was very good at resolving) , was it value for money, no I don't think so.
We had drinks and food outside the hotel on last 3 days and the quality of both in various restaurants & bars in St Lawrence was first class and made you realise, just how average the offering was at hotel.
Location is good, you can walk from here to St Lawrence, mostly along beach. You can also walk from here to Oistins.
All buses and white route buses (mini van) BBD 3.50 for any trip duration.
Air conditioning does not seem to have an auto off when desired temperature reached, unless mine was just faulty!
Did laundry at service wash place in Oistins, very quick service.
A visit to the tortoises in Garden was a daily occurrence for us, we counted 4 big ones and about 20 little un's of varying sizes.
The staff who greet you at breakfast, lunch etc, very good, some of the serving staff less responsive!
A little bit of a refresh needed, but has real potential.

We stayed at Barbados Beach Club from 26th Sept for 15 nights. Not the best of starts to our holiday as Virgin Atlantic left our luggage at Heathrow but the front desk staff were very helpful and advised us where to shop for essentials and clothes. Once this was sorted we could relax and start to enjoy the hotel and the location. Firstly our room (712) was on the top floor and had a fantastic view from the balcony. The room was like any typical Caribbean room, basic but large, comfortable and very clean. The maids visited the room every day and did a sterling job. Not that we watch TV whilst on holiday but the screen would make any Odeon jealous :-) The location of the hotel is great. It's on a quiet road and situated right on the beach front. The beach is pure sand with no rocks and it's easy to access the sea. Due to Covid the hotel is gradually returning to life and welcoming visitors back again. The GM (Gerry) has obviously worked hard behind the scenes to refurbish the hotel whilst lock down was in force. Procedures have been put in place and all staff and guests were adhering to the new way of life.
As for the food, well, Julian the head chef and his team certainly know how to keep the guests happy. Because there were only a few guests at the hotel it would not of been economical to provide a normal menu. However, the choice was great and the food cooked to perfection. We both agreed this has been some of the best food we have been served whilst on holiday.
Other members of staff who deserve a mention are Enrico behind the front desk, Sangean, Sandra and Michelle in the restaurant. We must stress that all staff were great but we can't remember all their names :-)
Overall a great 15 night stay made even better when our luggage joined us on day 7 :-) Some of the older reviews seem a bit harsh and probably outdated. Highly recommend this friendly hotel and its ideal location.

Just returned from a two week break at this hotel and I really couldn't find fault wiith the hotel at all. Room was large and clean, great shower very powerful which is unusual. Staff friendly and helpful. Food absolutely fine with plenty of choice each day, breakfast very good and you are topped up with water at each meal. Water in barbados is drinkable which is great and saves using bottled water to brush your teeth. The beach is lovely soft white sand and the sea is very clear. We would definately return. Great to be able to wallk to Oistins, have read some bad reviews about it, but we really enjoyed ourselves and went twice, the hotel do a walk to Oistins from reception at 6.30pm on a Friday evening. Overall a truely lovely holiday very relaxing. Would recommend the catermeran trip, Harrison's Caves and the island tour.

Probably would agree that more staff are required at the pool bar as it can get pretty busy at times, this is not a reflection on the guys that work there as they are very nice and work as quickly as they can, but cocktails do take a while to make, so be patient guys.

The hairdryer broke in our room, however reception very kindly brought a portable one up to the room for me (much better than the wall mounted was), so thankyou for that.

Thankyou to all the staff at the hotel we had a geat time.

Well,
It was great to return to the Barbados Beach Club Hotel after not being able to travel for so long. Its was very nice to see most of the familiar faces that we have known for years and meet all of the new staff that have joined the team at the BBC.
The Hotel was very clean, our room was very comfortable, the food although not a massive choice was of very good quality and always found something enjoyable to eat. Our favourites were the Macaroni cheese, Flying fish, Jerk chicken and on Sunday Roast Beef and Yorkshire Pud plus Bread and butter Pudding and custard😊
The swimming pool, Bar, Restaurant and beach are all close together, Most of the hotel rooms have a view of the sea and the Hotel itself is within yards of the sea.

The sunbeds and Umbrellas are free and the hotel has its own beach so you are not pestered all day long. They have Kayaks, Body boards and snorkelling gear to use for guests free of charge. The beach is pristine pure white sand and the sea has Beautiful shades of Blue and Turquoise and was really warm....... just like getting into a warm Bath 👌.

We have only just returned to the UK, and feel we have had great value for money. We love Barbados and have met some really nice people that are like minded and have returned year after year just like us.

Ian and Ruth Tilley

Still really good value especially if you get 'a deal' as others in this area charge so much more. Hotel exterior has been repainted light sand colour ..better than the pink in the pictures!
The plus points-
On a wonderful secluded beachfront location- beach towels, sunbeds, umbrellas , canoes etc all included.
Each room has a sea view, is cleaned daily with fresh towels and bottles water (you can ask for kettle if you need a brew in the mornings).
Good choice of food in the seaside Verandah Restaurant.
Quality local drinks at pool bar. The wine is pretty acceptable for a'house wine'.
Food on the whole very good quality .. Breakfasts excellent with lovely fresh fruits, egg station and all the usual. Lunches were the best with several meat, fish, pasta choices, fresh salads and 3 to 4 sweets plus ice cream ( need to ask for this). Dinners again had several choices but could benefit from more vegetables and potatoes. Soup, cheese and biscuits ..There are Caribbean dishes too...the jerk chicken and flying fish were better than at many of the local restaurants.
Most staff are friendly , pleasant and hard working despite being short staffed due to covid isolations.
Sandra, Moroyal, Debra were lovely and in particular ,Cairo who is the best waitress at this hotel by far( Malek please note). Steve on beach too.
Nightly Entertainment was varied and well presented.

Areas for improvement-
Walkway from beach to hotel looks so run down and showers are just awful. It does not exactly inspire people to visit this hotel who are just walking along the beach.
Plumbing/ hot water issues both in the toilets next to the restaurant and in some of the rooms. Ours was fine but to be honest most the bathrooms and in particular the showers require some upgrade.
The Upstairs restaurant ( only open 3 nights per week) lacks any ambience at all..it is like being in a conference room! It has a lovely beachside location but you would NOT know it. Taking out the existing small windows and replacing them with floor to ceiling windows and a balcony would totally transform it. The cost would be worth it as guests would likely be happy to pay a small charge for such a nice dining experience.
Some of the male waiters at breakfast need to learn customer service skills!
The garden area on the Oistins side needs more landscaping with colourful plants and maybe a sea side raised seating area.

If you want 4 /5 star luxury then go further down the beach and pay at least double !! otherwise this hotel is a good option and remember IT IS fully inclusive.

This hotel must be the worst hotel we’ve ever stayed in. This was the 4th time we have been to Barbados and sadly will be our last.

We were there for 10 days, but were in quarantine for 3 nights as we had to wait to be released, following our PCR tests.

The hotel is dirty and needs a complete overall to bring it to acceptable standards. When we were in quarantine, our room wasn’t cleaned, and we had to ask for loo rolls and towels etc.

We viewed a room before we moved to it. On viewing, it looked ok,but when we moved in, we could see how shabby it was. The towel rail was hanging off the wall, the air conditioning worked some of the time. The bedding wasn’t changed in the whole of our stay. I know that we’re living in strange times, but the hotel should concentrate on maintaining the rooms rather than painting the outside.

The hotel states that there are 2 restaurants, but only the buffet was open. You had to wait until they called you to get your meal. The staff served you and you weren’t allowed to touch anything. My husband’s coeliac so there was very little choice for him, despite him emailing them at least 3 weeks before to tell them. Most of the staff were pleasant, but there were a few that were quite abrupt.

There was entertainment on 2 nights whilst we were there, which was ok,but karaoke is not to everyone’s taste. All in all a disappointing holiday, but on the plus side,we met some lovely people.

Dear Julie, thank you for taking the time to write this review about your recent stay. We are sorry to learn about your extended quarantine. It was sadly unfortunate and inconvenient, Please note the Ministry Of Health is doing their best to keep everyone safe and to return test results within the specified time frame. The hotel currently has to follow the Government of Barbados Protocols on the cleaning of rooms. We have a very high standard for cleaning. The House Keeping Department really works hard to provide clean, comfortable accommodation for our guests. Thank you for mentioning that you thought that our hotel and staff were pleasant, we appreciate your thoughtful feedback and will continue working to improve our customer services to all guests. Once again, we are very sorry that you did not enjoy your stay with us. We thank you for your valued review, as one of our goals is to continuously improve our guest experience!

My husband and I have just returned from a 2 week holiday at the hotel. We found that almost all the staff were helpful and friendly despite having to work within governmental Covid restrictions.
Initially we experienced long queues in the restaurant but as the holiday progressed we noticed that new staff had been recruited which improved matters. The layout of the buffet was not particularly good with no written details of the menu displayed beforehand. There was a menu board in reception which was not being used. Such an aid at the restaurant entrance itself might have been better to enable guests to be able to make an informed choice.
Reception and back office staff were brilliant both pre-arrival and post - I had emailed for advice on Covid PCR testing and their replies were most helpful. During our stay they advised where to find nearby restaurants that were still open during the Covid curfew as well as advice on local island tours.
Throughout the hotel cleanliness was very good. We had a small niggle in that tea, coffee and milk was not replenished in our room. However these items were available in the restaurant for self service and use.
The bar was manned sufficiently during the day; however 1 person serving in the evening until 11pm, was not good. Curfew was changed from 11pm to 9pm not long after our arrival. Staff needed to reach their homes before 9pm causing difficulties in manning the bar, etc.
The beach was white sand and we were always able to find sun loungers. Umbrellas were available from the beach attendant and we found them to be very helpful.
Given the fact that we were holidaying under Covid restrictions and also taking into account that this is a 3 star hotel (not Sandals!) we really enjoyed our stay. We were realistic enough to appreciate fantastic weather, only 1 day of rain, friendly Barbadian people and a beautiful island.
Overall this hotel represents good value for money and we would certainly consider returning.
