Don't let the quarantine requirements deter you from coming. This hotel is registered with the Barbados authorities as a a quarantine property and the management has done a marvellous job in segregating the facilities to enable those in quarantine and those who are not, enjoy a marvellous experience. Adherence to the rules is monitored carefully and responsibly without being intrusive. Everyone can be confident of their safety. The staff will book a doctor to attend the hotel to administer the second Covid test, the results of which arrived 24 hours later, if guests so wish. This couldn't have been more efficient. The property, buildings and grounds, is spotlessly clean and well maintained and the two pool areas are very attractive. The property is compact but very well designed so there is no sense of it being crowded. There was no problem securing loungers on the clean beach which was steps away from the grounds. This would be a perfect hotel for those with children. Food was very well executed but for our taste, the choice was inadequate; particularly for lunch. However, in the overall scheme of things this is a minor complaint. Our room was large, well appointed, very clean and twice daily housekeeping excellent. Service was the only aspect of our stay with which we were unhappy. It was inconsistent and frequently poor, with a number of restaurant and poolside staff members being lazy, unprofessional and on one occasion, obnoxious and rude. We were warned about this on our first day by other guests so it didn't come as a surprise. The two directors, Wayne and Russell, were highly visible throughout the property at all times, which doubtless was the reason for its immaculate appearance and cleanliness throughout our stay.…
simply the best hotel in the world(well in my experience to date). world class service that makes you feel like one of the family.stunning views the most friendly staff and cant wait to get back this was a particularly poignant time as the hotel and the island were preparing to close as covid started to hit-was v sad watching the team vote to close down and protect themselves and their customers given their livelihoods depend on the latter. There is an immense sense of pride throughout the hotel and i cannot recommend this place enough! We were lucky enough to stay in Curlew with stunning ocean views and felt like we were in our own palace!
Absolutely fabulous place to stay for a relaxing, first class holiday. The food at breakfast is superb along with the professional and friendly service. Evening dinner is also wonderful. The whole setting of the hotel is beautiful. Will definitely return.
We have been going to the Sandpiper since 1989 when it was a modest 22 room getaway. Over the years we have watched the Capaldi family then later with Russell Croney grow the property into the paragon of service and amenities it has become. We will return in December to once again embrace the heavenly peace that always swallows us when we step into the foyer of the Sandpiper. Truly leading the list of the worlds best small hotel list. Tell them JW sent you.
This is the fifth year staying at this hotel. It is a lush, quiet and very relaxing resort. It is suitable for adults or older families and ideal to just remove yourself from the stresses of everyday life. The service is unobtrusive but always available with well trained and long term friendly staff. It is immaculately maintained with stunning gardens. The rooms are well proportioned but traditional rather than modern. The only slight negative is that the beach area is a little tight for space but the pools are well designed and not busy and the beach itself is soft sand and beautiful Caribbean blue.
