Had an afternoon tea here today - service was amazing as was the food. Well presented and we were looked after without being petered. Overall one of the best afternoon tea experiences we have had. From being greeted by the door person who parked the car to the ladies who served us , all was amazing

I enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea at the end of May 2022. The service, staff, cleanliness, presentation were all excellent. Staff were very attentive, of note were Carol, Kevin and Jackie, but all staff I met were top notch.Hats off to the chefs, the cakes and the sandwiches were divine. We particularly liked the coronation chicken mini wrap, the fruit cake and the Italian open sandwich. Thank you all for a wonderful afternoon.

Don't bother to try and book a table reservation at this establishment unless you are prepared to scan all your covid vaccination certificates and email them to the restaurant booking team. The Sandy Lane have now decided to police the vaccination status of all guests and visitors at the very time the Barbados Government are relaxing requirements. Obviously they know better and are quite happy to alienate customers and guests.

I recently enjoyed a beautiful birthday stay at Sandy Lane with my husband and additional family from Scotland. It was our first vacation together since covid, so we were long overdue. Sandy Lane delivered on every level. I felt a sense of old Hollywood glam when we arrived. The ambiance timeless and elegant, offering up top notch service from start to finish. We thoroughly enjoyed multiple spa services, golfing, the beach,(beach services were wonderful)and lovely meals. (L’Acajou made my birthday dinner extra special.) Every desire is magically met, with seemingly little effort. I noticed our room was not stocked with my favorite tea upon arrival, and when I inquired, almost instantly I was delivered an entire box of my favorite tea! WoW! Housekeeping was absolutely great, always anticipating your needs, and their perfect timing of slipping in to constantly replace towels, and supplies was incredible. Evening turndown service will be amazing when you see the giant pillow stacks that they prepare for you. Along with nightly macarons. The entire staff was amazing and on my birthday there was champagne and a cake in our room. Multiple staff greeted me with birthday wishes, which was really nice. At L’Acajou there was another cake and the piano player played happy birthday too. Again WOW. As you might guess, I loved this place🥰 Thanks for the memories Sandy Lane! Hopefully, I will return someday soon.

This is a really special and exclusive place and it’s easy to see why guests return year after year. Location is amazing. Super private. If you know about Sandy Lane, then you won’t need to be reading this. Golf courses amazing and walking to Holetown or up to the country club was most enjoyable. Best hotel we’ve visited. Amazing holiday. Superb staff. Loved it! See you next year!

Spent almost 2 weeks there end Jan 2022. Staff excellent. Pool, spa and treatment area excellent. Rooms dated and sea view ground floor room was obstructed by plants. Obviously much better if put on first floor with a balcony but not really worth the extra as was. The Beach is ribbon thin due to beach erosion and sea level rise, I imagine. The public beach area is not abutting the beach loungers. So the beach is disappointing but teh staff on the beach are excellent. The real disappointment was the food. The buffets for breakfast and lunch could not be more extensive but the food is mid-level and far from haute cuisine. At the prices charged one would expect better quality. Missing were fresh sea food as a daily let alone as a special. The BBQ did have some fish but hardly better than a DIY BBQ. Now that local newspaper has two pages of Chinese news in it one can only expect slow changes. We will not be returning to the island with its lovely people and fear for the cultural change.

Incredible stay from start to finish. The team at Sandy Lane is world class, beginning with the reservations and concierge team that ensure your vacation goes smoothly before you even arrive. The rooms are lovely and the property itself is stunning. Every desire is anticipated, every need fulfilled. There were so many wonderful team members that we met it would take paragraphs to name each and the special way they made our trip memorable. We will definitely return.

Staying at this spot you have to forget the price and just enjoy the experience . It’s a relatively small hotel , in January , post Christmas, it’s a little calmer in customer volume so you can always get a table in one of the two restaurants. The beach is stunning , as you’d expect , you are paying for luxury and security and on both points the Sandy Lane makes you feel special .. the rooms are spacious & well appointed as you’d expect at this money and it’s without doubt the #1 hotel in Barbados . The special airport transit where a staff member meets you on the runway and bypasses all the queues is another perk that’s well received by guests I’m sure . Modern resorts in Arab states & emerging nations aspire to this old school luxury , and they attract a certain kind of clientele , often quite money obsessed and dare I say a little vulgar and pretentious .. but this place is the real deal .. a good quality , original , Four Seasons / Savoy / Peninsula style hotel , on sea ! No one cares , or knows who you are , if you can pay the price to stay , you’re welcomed in …so if you can reconcile yourself with the significant costs to stay , you should try it , it’s certainly one of the best beach side properties in the world .

We came to SL in May 22 having changed the date from January 22 due to an emergency operation for cancer. It soon became apparent on our first evening there was an issue regarding the board basis. We had paid for HB with all relevant evidence but the hotel insisted it was on a food and beverage basis of $750 allowance for the 14 nights. Given this holiday cost circa £34k inclusive of first class flights that was nonetheless shocking. 4 days later and a lot of phone calls and texts it was finally resolved. It did not make a good start for what was supposed to a recovery holiday. To be far to the GM James, after we spoke, when he stepped in matters were resolved expediently. The Good:- 1. Housekeeping was exceptional. 2. Andrea, Obi, Carol, Javal, Neil and ALL the team at L’Acajou were outstanding never to be forgotten. 3. Varied musical entertainment. 4. Varied menu at Bajan Blue. 5. Spa facilities were excellent. The Not So Good 1. The beach service was inconsistent and lacking 2. The menu at L’Acajou never changed. No specials to relieve the boredom of a short menu. A lot of the items, whilst well executed, were heavy and rich given the climate. The chef will prepare something off menu but he needs 24 hours notice. Extremely talented but clearly doesn’t have a free reign of the menu selection which is a terrible shame. 3. We found some of the reception staff curt and unfriendly. 4. Spa reception didn’t explain pricing of treatments balanced against package vouchers simply resulting in extra costs. 5. If you run out of sun cream do NOT buy it in the hotel. We were stung for $240 for 2x Hampton 50 factor 149ml. All in all we wouldn’t return. Given the cost involved it should have been seamless - it wasn’t. We have travelled extensively over the years and stayed in 5 star hotels around the world so we have a comparable knowledge. There are repeat guests who love it and no doubt the WAGS/celebrities of this world who have helped push up the prices and the hype up will continue to return. But there’s better out there
