Wonderful west coast hotel with excellent water sport facilities and great food. Some nice touches like the 5pm champagne and canapés and a great way to meet people and watch the stunning sunsets. Vista coffee and wine bar was a nice place to get your early morning cappuccino and the view of the ocean from the outside lounge was stunning. The water sports team were really accommodating and friendly and we made use of all the facilities including the water taxi that takes you to sister hotels along the coast. Reflections a la carte meals were excellent and the cocktails at the bar Made by Raheem and Andre were always spot on. The hotel has a nice friendly easy going vibe and staff are friendly and informative without being pushy. We hope to be back some day and would highly recommend Crystal Cove.…
From the minute we booked to the minute we left this was, after the year we have had a real pick me up. Celeste on reception was fantastic at sorting our quarantine stay at Treasure Beach along with the staff there. Celeste also welcomed us at Crystal when we arrived and made our check in a breeze. The first night we were there the water main burst outside on the road meaning we had reduced pressure, but the hotel again were first rate at keeping us informed and sending out for bottled water. Joan in reflections was amazing under the circumstances with reduced staff obviously trying to keep everything running smoothly. The room was kept spotlessly clean with new beach towels and bedding everyday. I know a few people had various issues but we were the first group of holidaymakers since March and teething problems are the least of our worry’s after the year we have had, but on the whole nearly all of us really enjoyed our stay. A big thanks to all the staff for making our holiday so trouble free. …
Really lovely hotel, great staff and good food. Best sun loungers I have ever seen as they each have their own adjustable canopy, so no need to fight for the loungers with parasols! Shame some people still felt the need to leave their towels on loungers first thing in the morning as there were definitely more loungers than people.
We have been to Barbados before but stayed on the south side of the island which we loved hence the reason for visiting again. Sadly the beaches here are not a patch on the south of the island and particularly at this hotel as there is only a very small area to swim in that is void of any rocks. However the worst thing about this hotel is the lack of enthusiasm portrayed by the staff. It was rumoured that as the hotel is being closed in August for refurbishment the staff had not been given job security and if this is true then I can understand the low moral, However if the rumours aren't true then I wouldn't re-employ most of the staff as they require a real kick up the backside. It was advertised each day that there was afternoon tea served at the drifter bar. We sat at tables on two occasions without any member of staff asking us if we wanted anything. It wasn't until another resident told us that you have to ask for the afternoon tea. I have been on holidays costing half as much as this one did and the staff couldn't do enough for us and they also enjoyed our generous tipping as a result of that attention. On this holiday not one tip was given by us.…
We had the most wonderful stay.. its very clean, staff are so helpful on every level, they can't do enough for you. The food is great and varied, caters for everyone (vegan, Gluten free) .. the cocktails are delicious...on arrival, we were delayed 3 hours, time stops. You are greeted with a rum punch and you sink into the armchairs at reception.. the views are incredible 👏 😍 the ocean view rooms ARE ocean view and the complimentary water sports were fun! I really felt like we visited paradise - perfect for those who want to get away from it all. Highly recommended 10/10
Cannot recommend this hotel enough, arrived after a long a delayed flight, welcomed with cold drinks and kind efficient staff. Room was large and clean, kettles, tea, coffee, clean and quiet air con units, large bathroom, two sinks, decent shower. Beach is amazing, there was no seaweed for our whole trip, (middle may). Swam every day, crystal clear and clean water, snorkeled directly off the beach. There are two restaurants, food is good in both and the bar and cafe are open all the time, Raheem makes really great cocktails! We enjoyed complimentary water sports and there were always enough sun beds. Sitting on in reception with champagne and canapés watching the sunsets was a memorable time of day. If you want a party hotel this is not it, it is a relaxed, peaceful, wonderful place that accepted and embraced all ages of people. We had a wonderful time 10/10…
So firstly I would like to say we didn't STAY at Crystal Cove we stayed at The Waves Hotel & Spa which as part of the Elegance group meant we could visit the sister hotels! So we visited during the week for the day. First impressions are that the hotel is very pretty , the pools also have a lot to offer and we enjoyed swimming in the pool connected to the pool bar. We also had some drinks from the pool bar which is in a very attractive little cave.. but that little cave gets really hot and is quite hard to hear in there due to the waterfall. There is a lot of steps which personally i wouldn't of managed for the whole week. Food - we had lunch at the outside restraunt close to the beach but still a part of the hotel, a few of the other guests told us it's very hot to eat outside. We didn't agree after eating at the restaurant outside it was lovely and cool, great drinks made at the bar and the kitchen staff where so friendly and welcoming and my partner (as always) really enjoyed the food they had to offer! There was great snorkling on the beach area lots of fish to see which was lovely. Although the place was lovely to visit we was quite happy to get back on the water taxi to return to Waves 🙂 I would say that Crystal Cove is probably better for family's due to the pool areas.…
I travelled with my sister for the first time to Barbados and stayed 10 nights 28th April to 8 May. We we impressed by the friendliness of all the staff. Crystal Cove is set on beautiful grounds. The first night we had steak that was beautifully cooked at Reflections restaurant. The other restaurant is Drifters but this had to be booked for dinner. We alternated between the two restaurants. However, there wasn't a wide selection of food especially during lunch time at Reflections, in fact they served the same food during lunch when we were there except on Mother's Day. The bed was comfortable and we had a good night's sleep. No noise or any other disturbance. The room was cleaned and beach towels replaced daily. We got sun beds but not all had sheds. We would have preferred if all the sun beds had sheds since we particularly did not want a tan. Unfortunately, we fell ill - something we must have had eaten at the restaurant, we vomited and had upset stomachs. The hotel was very helpful and arranged for my sister to see a doctor. They covered the bill, but we felt they should have also paid for the taxi to the doctor (80 Barbadian dollars). That is why we have given a 4*. .…
Hotel: The photos are quite deceptive as the hotel isn't that big. The facilities are ok. On our first day we had a damaged bathroom so I put my foot down and had a change of room. The room we were given was nice, cleaned regularly and pleasant. Food: The food wasn't all that, it doesn't really cater for those who don't eat meat and chicken. And the fish dish are same . The chef lack authenticity and kept it safe with the food, some dishes tasteless and the deserts were no very nice. Would have been nice to have local flavours and more vegi and seafood options. Staff: This really was very disappointing, poor attitude by number of staff, lack understanding around other diversity and we could surly feel the different treatment by them as with the white folkes they attended all their needs, go out their way and provided golden treatment, We, however had the opposite, unsure if its case south asain do not visit the island's like the white folkes , if so well treating us this way certainly doesn't make me want to recommend to visit the island. The staff on the beach can be quite pushy with selling their water sport activity and ladies you may need to be firm as the men out there can ask direct, awkward questions that may feel quite inappropriate (this includes the male hotel staff) . I feel most of the Caribbean island needs some education on diversity as we have visited Jamaica, St Lucia and now Barbados and the hostile behaviour mirrors, odd given we are also COLOURED people!…
Loved the size of the hotel, really easy to feel at home quickly & all staff from the moment we arrived were friendly. We had a family suite which was very clean & comfortable for a family of 4. Didn’t realise these have two bathrooms which was a bonus! Kids club ladies are all so friendly and great for getting kids out the sun doing some crafts & games. Beach is small but great for small children, pools again more than adequate for a splash and swim. We ate some great food and enjoyed most the cocktails. Best holiday we’ve had in a long time, just enjoy the chilled atmosphere, we will return!!
