Beach View Hotel is situated on Paynes Bay on the calm West coast of Barbados, one of the best locations on the island. Having stayed in June 2013 and enjoyed it so much, we returned in June 2014. It is run by the Walcott family...More
The first thing that stands out about Beach View, is the genuine care that the the property hosts extend to their clients. This has been mentioned in other reviews, but cannot be understated. If you want to feel like you are in your second home,...More
After many visits to Barbados we have finally discovered Beach view. The apartments are spacious and kept spotless. The kitchen has every item you can think of. The staff are so friendly and all seem really happy to work there. We were in the building...More
I wrote a glowing review of this apartment hotel last year, and having recently returned from Barbados I can confirm that Beach View is still a most pleasant hotel; though not hotel, we feel like we are living there and part of it. There is...More

The beach is literally across the road. It is safe to swim here but the sand is fairly narrow. Perfectly safe and nice but quite near to the road and there are much nicer places to get in the sea! A 10 min walk (we walked all the way along the sand) will bring you to Paynes Bay which is lovely. Much wider. Parts of the walk you may need to paddle right at the edge and duck under trees but we did it with our two young children, it was perfectly safe and enjoyable! Paynes Bay is much wider, yes the sand is soft, it is beautiful. Parts are filled with hotel loungers as you pass the various hotels but plenty of it is completely clear and you are free to go where you like. We saw turtles when snorkelling from this beach. It's clean and was almost deserted when we were there at Christmas. A further 10 mins (again along the beach) will bring you to sandy lane beach. If you prefer not to get your feet wet you can access both these beaches by walking along the road from Beach View and cutting down one of the paths. Me and my 6 year old walked right from Beach View into Holetown (about 30 mins). You would pass other pathways down to the beach en route so might find a different beach further along! Hope this helps!
