Reviews Summary
This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.
Powered by AI
The Radisson Aquatica Resort Barbados boasts a picturesque beachfront location highly praised by many guests, although some feel that the property, described as quiet with a lack of vibrancy, falls short of expectations due to its outdated facilities and decor. Despite the clean environment and commendations for the friendly staff, reviewers frequently call out the need for refurbishment and report occasional maintenance issues. While the atmosphere and dated rooms are critiqued, the prime beach setting continues to be a highlight for visitors.

This is a tired hotel in a great location. Definitely in need of a facelift and new beds. We stayed two nights prior to taking a cruise. Positives—the view from our room was amazing. The location is great—on a long, beautiful beach close to the shipwrecks (more on those later). Horses from the nearby race track are brought down to the beach here each morning to exercise in the ocean and get washed. It was fun watching the trainers work with the horses. Negatives-bed was incredibly uncomfortable. Should have been replaced years ago. The restaurant was overpriced and had average to below average food. Shipwrecks and snorkeling are very close to the hotel (maybe 50 yards to the right as you face the ocean). If you are a good swimmer, you can make it out to the shipwrecks from the nearby beach without hiring a snorkeling tour. We met some people who did that. We tried but alas the shipwrecks were a bit farther than we could reach and had to give up. If we come again, we’ll take one of the snorkel tours which takes you right on top of the wrecks.

Hotel's Favorite
We are currently staying here at The Raddison Aquatica Hotel (14 Nights). Our second time around, we stayed here at the same time last year. We've been coming to the Caribbean for many years and we must say this is our favourite hotel. All of the staff are the most friendliest, polite, bubbly and helpful you could ask for. Sophia, Jemina, Shane (Front Desk), Odessa, Kimberley, Fabian, Rodney, Sherry Ann and Margaret our favourite breakfast egg chef :) (Apologies if any of the spellings are incorrect or we've missed out names). As per some of the reviews on this site, yes the decor is a little dated however who comes to a hotel to look at the decor. The positives of this hotel far outweigh the negatives. All the food served here is fantastic, sufficient portions and served piping hot, plenty of variety with a mixture of speciality evening dinners. Yes, the meals can take longer to be served however the food is cooked from fresh and after all this isn't a fast food restaurant i.e not McDonald's, you're also on holiday - what's the rush, chill and soak up the atmosphere. Breakfast and dinner are served on the pier going into the ocean, just an amazing setting! Every where is clean, the rooms are thoroughly cleaned every day, free tea/bottled water/milk. The beds are so comfortable. On arrival our room safe was playing up but after 1 phone call to reception the engineer was with us in literally 5 minutes and all rectified within minutes, what service ! Thank you. The hotel is fantastically located on Carlisle Bay, just an amazing clean sandy beach and the calmest ocean to swim in. Don't be put off by any of the negative reviews, why would we return for a second visit ?? Exactly. Looking forward to our remaining 5 days. Highly recommend, enjoy !! Denise & Justin Repeat Guests (UK)

I am not very picky and don't spend much time in the room but I would never stay here again! The beach is beautiful, that was the only good part. We saw 2 cockroaches in our room and the place is falling apart. Doors that don't work, bathroom tubs that are filthy and crumbling structures, ceiling etc. The Beach bar Neptune is closed and the hotel restaurant is half closed and looks like it's dangerous to enter, it's unavailable to the public. It's the one that's pictured out in the water, which is one of the reasons I booked it but then found out it wasn't usable. Don't waste your money!

Your report of the issues faced is regrettable, and we offer our heartfelt apologies. I must highlight that our restaurant is available. The structure that can be viewed in photos is not advertised as a restaurant, as it is not a restaurant. All information about the property, can be found on our website.

I stayed at Radisson for a week and let me assure you that it is an excellent place to stay in Bridgetown.I travel very often and know how to select a place to stay and I was very pleased with my selection. Its an ocean facing property and the beach here is the best, even the Hilton next door has not such a great beach.Yes the hotel is not very modern but it doesn't not matter by the end of the day.You are here to enjoy the sun not your room. Its very clean, well maintained every day.The service here is top notch, they know how to deliver. In every aspect.I had a small problem with my room and it was resolved very fast and to my satisfaction. I would like to say a big thank you to Ms.Gillian Griffith for your undivided attention. Thank you to Victor, another front manager,to my excellent server Odessa,to the beach boys . Do not listen to the negative reviews.

Our room was not ready when we arrived at 3:00 pm and we had to wait until 8:00 pm to get our room. They offered us a complimentary dinner to eat there which was nice but the dinner was not very good. But we still appreciated it . Our room air conditioner was very noisy all night long and even though it was on all night it did not keep our room cool . We were very hot and had a terrible nights sleep. ( was in the 80’s and humid) . The staff was very apologetic the next morning and gave us free breakfast buffet at the hotel. That was very good. The hotel is very dated and seems dirty because it is so dated. We were told not to leave any valuables on the beach in our beach bag because it is a public beach and it could be stolen. So we decided not to go swimming, afraid someone would take our phones from our bag. We came back after our cruise for one night even though I did not want to and they remembered us and upgraded us to a room with a beautiful view! The room was cool and quiet and the bed was very comfortable. The staff is nice but it’s a shames the hotel needs a complete renovation. I would choose another hotel the next time I am in Barbados. The staff tries , but the place is not one I would stay more than one night if I had to.

The beach and waterfront was great. A perfect start prior to our cruise. The hotel is older and our room was clean but in need of repairs and upgrade. The staff were friendly and breakfast was very good. The beach location is what makes it worth the visit

A nice 3 star hotel.Has some deferred maintenance issues.House keeping excellent and organized. The staff in general are very motivated to please and accommodate. Lounge chairs, umbrellas and towels are provided.Nice beach. The hotel is very quiet. Quests are a mix of older couples and some younger ones.Very few children. The beach snack bar Neptune's is closed. The balcony overlooking the beach is very pleasant. The rooms are adequate and clean. Not fancy but some nice materials are used. The food is actually very good and reasonable for Barbados. A good value for an older, basic 3 star beach front property. Very attractive package prices with air are available.

Desperately needing refurbishment stuck in the 1970’s when it last bothered with ! Looks like there may have been life at one point, no social bar/lounge area so you have to go out. Rooms are tatty, patio doors don’t open, bathroom tiles disgusting, room door doesn’t close without waking the whole hotel. I could go on just take my advice don’t book here! Only positive is the location & ‘Shane’ the lovely beach attendant.

Lovely location but was probably a good hotel in the 70,s but so dated. The only really good thing is the guys doing the sunbeds and all the staff are very friendly and helpful but refusing to let it spoil our holiday so will just keep smiling about everything and drink more 😂

A run down hotel which should either be gutted or knocked down and rebuilt. Lovely location and pleasant staff made up for buzzing in the room(not from AC but whatever was next door, very loud in passageway). Large comfortable beds and nice views from balcony.
