    OUR FAVOURITE HOTEL & STAFF
We are currently staying here at The Raddison Aquatica Hotel (14 Nights). Our second time around, we stayed here at the same time last year. We've been coming to the Caribbean for many years and we must say this is our favourite hotel. All of the staff are the most friendliest, polite, bubbly and helpful you could ask for. Sophia, Jemina, Shane (Front Desk), Odessa, Kimberley, Fabian, Rodney, Sherry Ann and Margaret our favourite breakfast egg chef :) (Apologies if any of the spellings are incorrect or we've missed out names). As per some of the reviews on this site, yes the decor is a little dated however who comes to a hotel to look at the decor. The positives of this hotel far outweigh the negatives. All the food served here is fantastic, sufficient portions and served piping hot, plenty of variety with a mixture of speciality evening dinners. Yes, the meals can take longer to be served however the food is cooked from fresh and after all this isn't a fast food restaurant i.e not McDonald's, you're also on holiday - what's the rush, chill and soak up the atmosphere. Breakfast and dinner are served on the pier going into the ocean, just an amazing setting! Every where is clean, the rooms are thoroughly cleaned every day, free tea/bottled water/milk. The beds are so comfortable. On arrival our room safe was playing up but after 1 phone call to reception the engineer was with us in literally 5 minutes and all rectified within minutes, what service ! Thank you. The hotel is fantastically located on Carlisle Bay, just an amazing clean sandy beach and the calmest ocean to swim in. Don't be put off by any of the negative reviews, why would we return for a second visit ?? Exactly. Looking forward to our remaining 5 days. Highly recommend, enjoy !! Dear Denise & Justin, Thank you for a wonderfully detailed review of your stay, your comments are very much appreciated and I thank you especially for highlighting the staff by name, they really appreciate that. I'm indeed delighted that you enjoyed our culinary offer and hope that we get the opportunity to serve you both in the near future. Thank you for making us your favourite hotel ! Fantastic location.
Stayed here for four days after our first cruise to the Caribbean and couldn't believe the stunning views of Carlisle Beach and Bridgetown from our room. The fine sand and calm waters made it an excellent spot for bathing plus you can walk for miles along the beaches in both directions. Although there are only a few local bars in the immediate vicinity we liked the location, and it is very close to the Garrison Savannah racecourse where we had a great afternoon watching the racing. Then the following morning we were treated the memorable site of the racehorses enjoying themselves in the sea on the beach by the hotel. We also had a trip on the bus to nearby Oistins for fish fry Friday which we thoroughly enjoyed and had the great fish cutters at lunch time from Cuzz's fishstand next to the hotel. The staff in the hotel were all very pleasant and helpful so we would love to stay here again when we return in the future.

    Bit of a bore
5th visit to Barbados & after a weeks cruise was really looking forward to our stay. It was rather boring to say the least. Dull entertainment if any, hotel has absolutely no soul Just a bar in the dining room. Room was tired & very basic the patio doors must be 50 yrs old. The bedding is lumpy & ugly not at all what you would expect. The sun beds were taken up really early so just sat on the beach with our towel if we could get one. I know it was Christmas but really we would have love a bit of shade from the sun. Room towels were rare one day we showered using a face cloth to dry us. Location is desolate we walked passed a dead monkey every day just to get a few essentials for our room from the local garage ( thank heavensfor that garage) Really dissatisfied with this hotel. Only thing this place has going for it is the beaches. But what a desolate place. Feel really sad after our long awaited holiday.

I was really apprehensive about staying after reading the reviews but after an 11 night stay we couldn't have asked for better. The hotel is slightly dated yes, but you get exactly what you pay for. If you want modern then perhaps up your budget to a sandals/hilton! This hotel was really clean at all times and the staff's service was exceptional from the front reception down to the beach hut gents and the best of all - the resturant staff. The all you can eat breakfast was good value for money and something for everyone. The hotel is located on the best beach in barbados so 10/10 for location after all most of us only visit for the stunning scenery. We used the community shuttle buses along the main road to transport us into Hastings/ worthing. They are about a 3 minute walk from the hotel whilst there is no shop on site a local shop and gas station again 3 minute walk away. My only and slight annoyance was the lack of wardrobe space for a family of four sharing a room, just simply not enough and some of us had to live out of a suitcase which is not ideal. Perhaps another set of drawers in the room instead of a study desk would be better. In all honesty, we had a fabulous time. Amazing views/ location, lovely people and a great atmosphere. Would go back and deffinately recommend.

I was very disappointed with this hotel considering it is Radisson hotel, I expected so much more. Staff were great, very helpful and accommodating, however this did not make up for the terrible state of the hotel. Unfortunately this is a common theme in the Caribbean, the big hotel brands failing to invest and maintain the up keep of hotels. The building was run down and in serious need of a renovation. The carpets were old, outdated and filthy - only God knows when they were last cleaned! Both the external and internal walls needed painting. The room decor was outdated, the wooden furniture full of chips and scratches. The bath tube was no longer white- it was yellow, with mould growing in the seals. One of the taps on the sinks was on its last leg. The room just felt gloomy, old and unclean - despite the cleaners visiting our room each day. At the time of my stay only one lift was working, which wasn’t helpful. All the tiles on the lift floor had cracks in them. The water feature at the entrance no longer did it’s job the water was green n dirty - surprisingly fish actually lived in it. Breakfast was very poor and very limited , it was advertised breakfast was buffet style. Only to get there and learn buffet was only on Saturday. Breakfast mainly consisted of eggs, toast and pastries, not the tasty Caribbean breakfast I was looking forward too! The hotel is on the beach, which so lovely! White sands and clear waters- just like you see in the pictures! The sunset is breathtaking- luckily it’s not a private beach so you don’t have to stay in the hotel to experience it’s beauty! (Pebbles Beach) Overall this was not the lovely Caribbean holiday I was expecting, I was really disappointed with the hotel and I will not return or recommend it to any of my friends & family. I hope the owners/investors can dig deep into their pockets and fork out some money to give the hotel the TLC it so deeply needs.

This place is in a Dire need to refurbished. The power points need upgrading, the fridge/cooler in our room was not working when we arrived. The whole place needs a lick of paint. The only thing I can say that was good about the Radisson was it location. We came for the Carribbean Experience they was no music during the day and no entertainment in the evening. For 3 days some glasses were left outside in the corridor (see photo). The food was average and inconsistent. I ordered one meal 3 times during my 2 week stay. first time I got my meal I was given a full salad, 2nd time same meal I was given 1 lettuce leaf, 3rd time I had this meal I had no salad at all. There was no basic salt or pepper on the table which you had to ask the waitress for. The waitresses gave us poor customer service they made you wait for the salt or pepper while your meal went cold.. Kept you waiting I wish I had gone to Coconut Court. Whoever is running this establishment they need to retrain the staff and the staffs attitude poor service and a rundown hotel. It was very very basic.

This hotel was built in 1969, and it is time for a face-lift. I was disappointed to see the overwater structure still in its dilapidated state. How sad. Other than that, the rooms, while dated, are clean and functional. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The beach bar was closed, so drinks and food had to come from the main restaurant. Food that was available was always quite tasty. The beach and sea are lovely, albeit a tad small. The small pool was kept clean. There are no other nearby supper restaurants, a van or cab is necessary.

We popped in this hotel for a wonder about and a few drinks. Positioned on the beach is obviously a plus. Sun beds are provided. We had a few drinks at the bar (overlooking the beach) which was positioned in what appeared to be the main restaurant but I could be mistaken. They were holding a private function on the walkway to the pier. But unfortunately the main area of the pier is closed and in a very sorry state , in fact it looks derelict, which was such a pity. Drinks were good, especially the pina colada’s. Prices were about average uk prices. The barman was so friendly and quite sympathetic when we informed him where we were staying. Not sure I’d stay here as it appears to be used for corporate events and airline stopovers for cabin crew , but friendly staff snd good drinks.

Dirty and stained floors and carpets. Fixtures that don't work and don't bother trying to get a good night sleep with that AC that sounds like a hurricane in your room. My room phone didn't work. The toilet flusher also barely worked and the towel rack fell down when I tried to hang my towel. This hotel is barely holding it together.

Me and my friends stayed 4 nights at the Aquatica! The staff was very welcoming and happy to help out with anything needed! The A/C unit in my room leaked water onto the floor and carpet. Maintenance were there on 2 occasions to try fix it without any success, but the staff was very understanding and offered discounted pricea for food and drinks being consumed during our stay, and a free lunch on check out day! Food and drinks were good! And we left the hotel overall very satisfied! Would definitely recommend others to stay at the Aquatica, and will definitely stay here next time I visit Barbados!

Great location-- right in the middle of everything you want to do and where you want to be! Rooms are a bit dated but very clean and comfortable. - Best room cold refrigerator-- always supplied w water-Staff was excellent-- beginning w reception and front desk staff; concierge; beach and dining wait staff. Beach was spotless as was the pool area and the hotel in general. Staff was more than helpful-- answering our questions/ providing suggestions / tips on all aspects involved in touring Barbados. Seeing the race horses swimming in the ocean at the resort was a real highlight! Anything we needed- staff was right there to assist! Loved it! Will definately return!
