Detailed Reviews
Good quality hotel, with very friendly and attentative staff. Bedroom was large with all required facitilities, such iron; a tea/coffee maker and bottled water provided. Good taxi service available in the hotel, at a fair price. The main negative was the inadequate space provided for breakfast. If any large party was staying, very difficult to get a table to sit by oneself. Restaurant lacks atmosphere but, unlike restaurants, Happy Hour included beer and there were plenty of good restaurants very close.
Not so good for holiday makers. Although beach was just across the road, there is no direct access to beach, so no loungers etc.

I never write reviews but felt I had to Highlight the First-Class staff and the service we received during our recent vacation. We stayed with our 3 kids (all under 5) and although not typically peoples first choice for a family beach vacation, we stayed on points and this was the only Bonvoy option for Barbados. The Hotel is everything you would expect from the Courtyard brand; Clean rooms good breakfast, centrally located. There was only one exception to the courtyard standard... The hospitality we received here was second to none! Every single member of the staff, from the desk and wait staff to housekeeping and security went out of their way to ensure our vacation was both enjoyable and memorable. The knew our names within hours and stopped what they were doing every time we entered the hotel to engage with us and our girls. A very special thank you to GM Kelly-Ann who was so kind and helpful, and after learning my birthday was during our stay had cake, balloons, and a staff signed card delivered to our room, She made us feel not like guests of the hotel but friends of the hotel. Sorry i didn't get other names but whatever we needed it was handled by the staff almost immediately.
For those concerned about not being directly on the beach... its not really a big issue. we managed fine even with our double stroller and multiple beach accessories for the kids.
We will definitely return to Barbados (minus kiddos) when we can experience more of the wonderful Bajan culture with a stop at the Courtyard.

The amenities and food in this hotel meets the Marriott standard! It is convenientlying located within a 5 mins walk away from the town area and across from the beach which is perfect!
The staff were extremely friendly and very helpful. They even gave me an umbrella for my walk into the town area! They have pasta nights on Wednesday nights which are absolutely amazing! A full spread awaits you and you can choose from any type of topping or cheese.
Great hotel and most of the staff remembered my name! Great experience!

Stayed here as we are in the Marriott program, otherwise would have stayed elsewhere but it was just for 1 night.... Would skip this place next time, even for 1 night stay. The room was nice and clean and not too small. Comfy bed,
The location isn't so great as there is no beach here, its across the busy street from the beach. We kind of thought that they would at least have a staff at the beach and some beach chairs or something but nothing. That would make it a long week to be down at the beach, no amenities (from the hotel), etc. We sat on the beach on our towels, and used the facilities at other hotels that were on the beach. Not sure if these hotels love that - that all the Marriott guests are doing this. I think they should work something out with one of the hotels on the beach as after all, most people are here for the beach! (at least some of the time).
Aside from that, I would agree with the other comments that the staff are in the hotel, but you definitely have to ask for every little thing. Nothing is offered to you without you specifically asking. We are platinum club members (didn't stay on points), and we had to ask about early check in (wasn't available), no room upgrade was offered (didn't ask), had to ask about late check out (got that at least), no bellman, when we arrived and got the keys to the room, they didn't even direct us to the elevators so we wandered a bit to find out how to get to the rooms.
Luggage storage is in a room full of cleaning supplies by the front desk, you wheel your luggage there yourself.
I guess for the hotel one would expect just a tiny bit more effort on the part of the staff to make the stay a bit less rough around the edges.

Dear J_travelB, Thank you very much for your loyalty as a Marriott Bonvoy elite member and for your feedback. Providing the highest level of hospitality is our number one priority and we sincerely apologize for falling short of meeting your expectations. I have shared your feedback with my associates and we will work on improving in the areas which you highlighted as needing attention. I am happy to advise that in response to requests for beach access, in 2018 we introduced a complimentary beach shuttle service to Copacabana Beach Club on Fridays to Sundays and I do hope that you get the opportunity to experience this amenity if you choose to return in the future. Warm Regards Kelly-Ann Payne General Manager

As a Marriott Bonvoy member, I try to stay at Marriott hotels when possible.
This trip was a last minute business trip and I once again opted to stay at the courtyard for its location and convenience to the business I needed to conduct.
I was a little disappointed on this occasion as I found the level of service to be very casual.
The first morning my room was cleaned, the cleaning bottle was left in my bathroom with no towels replaced. I found the room attendant on the corridor and while she was speaking with me her phone rang lordly and she ducked her teeth and answered the call and proceeded to have a phone conversation! I was shocked.
Front office agents were very friendly as were restaurant staff, but there was a casualness that was sometimes just too familiar.

I have read a few negative remarks. This hotel is very nice, so not sure what those gripes are, or I could have been in another area of hotel. It was quiet, and clean, the staff spoke, and even had conversations with us. Taxis were readily available, and you were near many stores, shops, and if all else fails a KFC a few blocks down, with the beach readily available . If you stay here, as far as accomodations go and for the price, you will definitely have a good time on the island.

Very comfortable room, whether it is for sleeping, working privately, watching Tv, or chatting with friends. Super staff who make you feel like you are at home...everready to help, always with a smile and a heartfelt greeting. They seemed genuinely interested in making my stay a wonderful one. To them, it seemed that this was more than just a "job." Housekeeping was unlike anything i had experienced elsewhere. There was a handwritten welcome note by my housekeeper, Monique, and a personalized welcome greeting on the menu screen of teh Tv. Food was also excellent! There was clearly a deliberate effort to offer healthy options and the traditional not-so-health options but with a healthy twist, e,g veggie pizza pieces, zucchini pancakes, etc. I loved stay there! I have been in many hotels in my lifetime, but this one takes the cake for service excellence. Bravo!!

I stayed at the Courtyard for NYE 2020 and it was a great stay. The hotel is located just across the street from a nice beach with a great sunset. The staff was very attentive and hospitable. They helped explain everything from the taxis to how to take the local bus. The food at the restaurant is much high quality than Courtyard in the states. The pool and fitness center were nice enough but with the beach so close we spent much of our time there.
The hotel is right on a main road which makes catching the bus very simple and easy. They have a rental car company on site, and although we had major issues with our car rental (due to expedia), they were very, very helpful.
Overall, they wanted us to have a wonderful memorable stay and we did. We did everything we wanted to do on vacation and the hotel staff made the stay very comfortable.
I am a Titanium member with Marriott as well but hopefully they treat everyone the way they treated us.

I had to stay there in an emergency during high season. It was expensive. The oddest thing was an additional 10 percent for servicing the room. In 50 years staying in hotels around the world I don't recall being charged for this. Surely the definition of a hotel room is that it is serviced. For all this money the hotel offers very little - no ice machines, only water out of the bathroom tap, the smallest possible coffee machine in the room. However, it was clean. The room was very large and comfortable. The location was good for me. The Italian restaurant on site is excellent. There are eating places and bars within walking distance. All the staff were pleasant and efficient. But it's poor value for money. And watch the add-ons

Responded Feb 23, 2022
Dear CWFrog, Thank you for sharing your feedback on your recent stay. I am sorry that I did not meet your during your stay or had the opportunity to address your concerns directly. I would've explained that the service charge is a charge you see at hotels and restaurants on the island which is collected in lieu of tips and shared among all of the employees. Of course customers can still tip if they so desire. The charge is explicit when making the reservation along with the additional taxes. Although the water from the tap is safe to drink in Barbados we also provide bottle water daily along with the amenities for tea and coffee. Again please allow me to apologize for the inconvenience caused during your stay. As you highlighted our efficient staff are always willing to assist as our intention is that every guest leaves 100% satisfied. Please let me know if your travels bring you back to Barbados, I would be happy if given the opportunity to discuss with you directly. Warm Regards Kelly-Ann Payne General Manager
