We have just returned from 10 lovely days at The Island Inn, and I can really recommend this hotel. With only 24 rooms, it's a place where you quickly get to know the other guests, which adds to the experience. That said, it's not a place where you're forced to join in! Entertainment is provided on a few evenings a week, but it's pretty low key, so if it's karaoke you're after, this isn't the place for you. (That said, the rum tasting and Manager's cocktail evening on Wednesday is definitely worth attending!) We stayed in a standard room, overlooking the garden. It wasn't huge, but had everything we needed, and as it didn't face the courtyard or the swimming pool, it was quiet. The food was consistently very good, and the portions were always generous. The hotel's location is great - a very short walk across to Pebble Beach, where there are plenty of loungers and umbrellas you can hire ($40 Barbados), with a range of different pop-ups to buy drinks/food. (There are public toilets and showers there too). Most mornings, early, you can watch the race horses from the Garrison Savannah swimming and being bathed, which is an amazing sight. What made our stay so particularly enjoyable was the service and the staff. Without exception, all were warm and friendly, and nothing was too much trouble. I'd go back in a heartbeat!

Lovely hotel, small and intimate. Fantastic staff, all very friendly and helpful. The food was amazing , im a vegetarian and they made Fantastic meals available every day. Drinks Fantastic. Everyone sat around the courtyard in the evening to watch the entertainment, but you could sit alone if you prefer. They had a rum tasting evening with a bbq, an amazing young lady singing another night and a dj another night while we were there, which was all amazing. A family of green monkeys showed up everyday, which was amazing to see .The rooms were lovely, very spacious, we upgraded to a superior garden view which was perfectly located. Housekeeping was brilliant, the girls did a fantastic job every day. Literally 2 minutes walk down to the beach, Lovely beach, you can walk down to Bridgetown in about 20mins or down the road which is roughly the same time but it's on a busy main road and there is a lack of path so we went down the beach. Buses are frequent to all around the island and very cheap, you can jump on and off at any point. We would definitely return here

Great happy staff. Amazing food made in house including some local recipes. Enjoyed the fish, fritters and local veg especially. Ice cream is also popular. Good location a couple of minutes walk from beach and walkable to Garrison area attractions such as George Washington House and Museum and Historical Society. Small hotel has good sized rooms in converted historic building and in addition. Guests are friendly. Some noise in courtyard to 11 pm from entertainment (but not all nights) and conversations to bar close. Limited ventilation in bathroom. Appreciated the small pool, king size bed and in room safe.

We chose this hotel as it is near the racecourse and the beach where the horses swim early in the morning, but were delighted with everything at the hotel. We were greeted with a rum punch and upgraded to a suite by the pool. The room was spacious, great air con, room clean and comfortable, large bed and bathroom with walk in shower plus bath and another shower. I think the rooms by the pool were best. The hotel has good character and charm, much better than a large faceless place. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Tre behind the bar was so much fun. All waitresses were great, especially Sharon, Galeen and Marlene. Food exceeded expectations, lots of choice and great menus. Also we were given a huge picnic lunch when we went out for the day. Mrs Brown and her team do a great job many thanks to all for a wonderful holiday.

This hotel is a lovely boutique hotel with only 24 rooms. We were made to feel welcome straight away as the staff are so friendly, the food you have is amazing. You get to see a few green monkeys now and then also there are some lovely birds etc. The hotel is 2 minutes walk to a lovely beach where you can also see the racehorses swimming every morning. Its situated just down from the Garrison area where the horse racing track is. The Entertainment was enjoyable. The main thing I want to express is how friendly the staff are, they are all amazing. We will defiantly be returning. Thoroughly enjoyed.

The Food is always good and it's unique setting makes it ideal for the adjacent Pebbles beach one of the best beaches set between the Hilton and Radison Hotels. Rooms are comfortable and kept spotless, all in all with great Staff food and Historical importance my tipp is book way ahead to get a room as the return rate from previous quests is massive . I have been to Barbados many times and this hotel has topped the list of places that I would come back to. It is small 24 room hotel with fabulous staff and great food. The room was big and had no issues with hot water. Great location - Pebbles beach across the road and Browne’s beach around a 10-15 min walk away (less if you are fitter than me)!!! Definitely watch the racehorse take a sea bath at Pebbles Beach every morning. The food was excellent with a 2 week menu so I had a different choice over my fortnight stay. My husband discovered his favourite ice cream flavour - Maple Almond! Shout out to the following who made my husband and I feel very welcomed Thora - Hotel Manager - fabulous lady Sharon/Carol/Angela - Front desk - very helpful and friendly. Thank you for entertaining my husband - he is something else!!!! Tre/Lamar/Terry- Great bar staff always with a smile and great energy. Lamar - your coconut mango Marlin cocktail was our favourite! Tre - those ‘tunes’ were a great start to the day. Terry - your conversations and smile was always a pleasure. The waitresses were great and special thank you to Gaileen- Jeanette - Marlene - Tia Doris Elsie Can’t wait to book another trip to this gem of a hotel.

Amazing hotel!! Small and friendly! Everything about it was just perfect… all the staff were lovely, especially Elsie, who was brilliant with our son!! The food was beautiful, the location is literally 2 minutes from Carlisle Bay and is walkable to Bridgetown. We are already looking at dates to book for next year … we would be back sooner if we didn’t already have other holidays booked!!

This imitate boutique hotel's all inclusive, meals are like the best home made meals you've ever had. generous portions, house wines are very good quality and alcoholic drinks are good quality brands. Staff are the friendliest, most caring, generous people I have ever met. A few yards from beautiful sandy beach where race horses swim early morning. Fun cricket and beach tennis played by locals on Sunday evenings, tourists are welcome to join in. Hated leaving as made so many friends amongst these fantastic Bagan people, can't wait to return.

This hotel is occupied by senior British so you might think you’ll be able to relax! Think again! They’re loud, drunk from 10am to 11pm and think they can’t sing karaoke! If you like to get up early by going to bed early, do not rent a room in the courtyard, as live music is set up right there! I had to ask management at 11pm to shut the music so we could get some sleep! But they didn’t seem to care as we’re not from Britain! I gave a 3 stars because the food is excellent, prime location on the nicest beach in Barbados at 2 minutes walk and some of the staff were pretty friendly.
