The Island Inn Hotel delivers a unique charm that resonates with guests, offering a friendly atmosphere and an intimate experience. While the service garners mixed feedback, ranging from commendable personal touches to instances of unprofessionalism, the majority of visitors celebrate the hotel's cleanliness and daily upkeep of rooms. The hotel's location is consistently praised, situated conveniently close to the picturesque Pebbles Beach. Although some aspects of the rooms and amenities might benefit from modernization, many guests find the accommodations comfortable and appreciate the added value of using facilities at a nearby sister hotel.

We throughly enjoyed our 11 night stay here it’s not often I say I’d go back to a hotel but I’d definitely return here big shout out to Sharon on reception when we checked in we weren’t happy with our room within two hours she had arranged for us to move to a better one. The air con in the rooms is very welcome when you come back from a few hours out.

Only 24 rooms here much preferred it to the bigger all inclusive hotels we have been too food was very nice buffet breakfast and menus for lunch and dinner most of dining room staff very friendly. Pool area was very nice and sun beds always available.

It was my birthday while we were here and they decorated our room such a nice touch rooms were cleaned every day location is very good two minutes away from pebbles beach and it’s well worth getting up early to see the race horses having their bathe in the sea.

We did boat trip and rum tasting trip and a trip to Bridgetown and oistens last two on the boogie buses which are a experience in itself we came to Barbados eight years ago but we enjoyed this hotel much more we had some great evenings with new friends and another shout out to our favourite barman Lamar his rum tasting evening is not to be missed.

All in all a fab holiday.

Stayed here in mid October for a week and after reading reviews about not being directly on the beach and a very small resort, we knew what to expect. The Island Inn is charming, very quiet and was exactly what we wanted. The food was some of the best we have ever experienced on any all inclusive vacation. The staff were very helpful and accommodating - don't hesitate to ask Sharon at reception for any info you need.

The hotel does not have beach chairs on the beach, however you can rent them at a cost. You can snorkeling without having to pay for a tour just head left when you get on the beach and at the end of the rock point there's plenty to see.

I would have loved a king size bed and balcony or view from the room but very few rooms have a view.

Would recommend the Island Inn if your looking for a very quiet relaxing vaction.

Chose this hotel due to its size and good reviews. Tired of the large industrial size identical hotels and liked the location. So decided to book without much research and glad we got lucky. The low key atmosphere is exactly what we needed. All hotel staff were lovely and made every effort to make our stay enjoyable. The room was simple and cleaned thoroughly every day. The bed was comfortable and the shower hot enough. The food was all good quality, varied choices day to day and served by excellent staff. The drinks were always readily available and great care taken with cocktails. The historic part of town around this hotel is fascinating. The beach two minutes away is sheltered, the sand soft and white. Turtles are swimming just off shore and my kids took some amazing go pro underwater photos. Two sunloungers and an umbrella are available for $40 Barbados a day. The race horses swimming at dawn on pebble beach is worth getting up for. Pebble beach is also popular with the locals and so nice to be amongst the locals, instead of tourists kept apart as in many parts of the world. Stayed over new year and the hotel went to a lot of trouble to create a special night. Was lovely to see the staff on duty that night interacting with the visitors and each other in a genuine warm happy way. My family completely loved Barbados and this hotel and its staff was a major part of why. Hope to return one day and hopefully no drastic changes happen to this special place.

Like the previous review, I was apprehensive about my decision to spend 9 nights at this hotel because of the negative reviews. To reassure anyone in the same position, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

The staff are very friendly and attentive. They are keen to resolve anything you raise with them. I had a slight issue with the room on the 2nd last day, and it was resolved 20 mins after talking about it.

The atmosphere is calm and makes an ideal relaxed holiday. The menus were excellent, and I was never disappointed with the quality of the food.

Negatives would be the number of mosquito bites from around the courtyard and pool. I guess there’s not a huge amount that can be done - just take mosquito repellent and you’ll be fine! The place can do with a lick of paint, I guess they are on catch- up after being closed because of covid. The look kind of fits in with the general style of Bridgetown.

There were a few welcome visitors too, small birds and a family of green monkeys.

I did a few small tours, but most of all I enjoyed swimming at the beach, where I could snorkel to the shipwreck in Carlisle Bay and also saw turtles most days. Seeing the horses swim around 6:30am was truly a sight to see!

The hotel were renewing their WiFi throughout the premises, so you can now receive a signal in the rooms which is a great improvement.

We have just returned from a long awaited holiday to Barbados and I chose this hotel due to its close proximity to Carlisle bay.
The hotel failed to meet my expectations on many fronts. There is a big problem with rats running around at night and this should be addressed without delay. The food was often cold and the choice was not what I had expected. Alcohol supply was very hit and miss and quite often a barman could never be found. The majority of guests are British who enjoy gin and there was none to be seen for 2 days.
Rooms are in need of updating as they look old and tired. Water supply in rooms 6 and 7 was not available for 3 days and when it was available it was a lottery if you were lucky enough to have a hot shower due to the small tank supplying many brooms.
The barman Lamar is downright rude and arrogant. On one occasion he would not serve us at at 22:45 after we repeatedly, politely asked him. In the end we gave up and went to bed. He was very rude to my sister in law when he shouted at her “can’t you wait 5 minutes”and he should have been reprimanded for his disrespect to a guest. He had his favourite guests and was often seen preparing his favourite guests speciality cocktails that were not on the cocktail list. He is obviously the golden child and nothing will be said to him.

We had a lot of fun with the guests and the waiting staff were always polite and happy to help where they could.

I very much enjoyed my holiday in Barbados but I was forced into eating at restaurants outside the hotel which I didn’t budget for.
I will definitely return to Barbados but not the Island Inn hotel

This is an awful hotel, staff are either lazy or rude and will not say good morning and seems to be a chore if you want anything. Aircon was not working and after 5 days of complaining they finally moved us as the "engineer" was always on his way to fix it..... Hotel needs a really good fix up as apart from ts location there's nothing good to say about this resort. they also served local brands and we had to request that they served mount gay that is produced on the island instead of the vile cheap substitute. Stay at the sister hotel but avoid this one like the plague as everything is as basic as the worse travel lodge you have ever stayed in.

Island Inn Hotel was closed in August 2020, We are not finding a record of a guest with a name that looks like your post name, and we have no record of anyone being in a room for 5 days with an air condition not working. If there has been a mix up in our investigation, we sincerely apologise, and we are truly sorry for a stay that went so horribly wrong and was not made right while you were with us. Please feel free to contact me directly with more information so we can address. With best regards, Shireene Mathlin Tulloch Mango Bay Group

Taking a journey into the unknown with our fist winter break in Barbados made us a little apprehensive but as it turned out we had no need to worry. Great flights with Virgin Atlantic. Island Inn Hotel was all we had hoped for, quaint, quite, great food, friendly service, particularly Angela, Doris, Dana, Ricia and Lamar; and a very approachable manager, Thora. WiFi coverage could have been better but, hey, you’re on holiday! The Hotel is only a minute’s walk from the idyllic Pebbles Beach in Carlisle Bay where JJ did a great deal on sun lounger and umbrella hire. We will definitely be returning.

The Island Inn is centrally located, which worked very well for us. We were able to walk to Pebbles Beach, Carlisle Beach also known as Brown's Beach. We rented a car but the public transportation was just a walk to the corner. The staff at Island Inn were always friendly and accommodating to our needs. Our room was a Superior Pool location for 3 people, it was cleaned every day and we were provided with beach towels. All of our meals were very good. The bars open up at 10am and closes at 11 pm, the bartenders, especially, Terry were more than happy to serve and engage in conversation. This is a very unassuming property, small, not located directly on the beach and kind of between the Raddison and the Hilton hotels. The guests were very friendly and nice to talk with during breakfast and dinner. I recommend this property if you want a low- key experience. If I return to Barbados, this would again be my choice.

On arrival, We couldn't have expected a more welcoming response. Our room was just as expected with perfectly working pair conditioning from the humid 30⁰ heat of outdoors and beautifully crafted towels and petals adorning he super King sized bed. We enjoyed such amazing cuisine throughput our 14 day stay.
The hotel staff were amazing thanks to those we remember the names we will remember and those we (forgive us) just can't as there were too many that were brilliant. Especially Mrs Brown, The beautiful and wonderfully professional Elsie, Doris, Toria, handsome and always helpful Terry, Lamar and gorgeous Trey.
You all made our holiday complete that make us want to return.
The rooms were more than adequate albeit needing a little bit of TLC and upgrading however this would not make us undeterred to revisit.
All in all, it was such a beautiful place I've no doubt we will join the many returners for another fantastic vacation.
Missing you all so much as I feel you are all now a part of our extended family ❤❤

We had a great holiday here, with our 19&22 yr old “kids”, who also loved it. The food was excellent, and if you want larger portions or extras, the staff are happy to help. Some days the service was a tad slow but in Barbados nobody is in a rush, so not a problem. I’m not sure if they are at full staff capacity with COVID etc, so that may have contributed. Our room was spacious and well kept, even if some of the furniture is a bit dated. The Manager, Miss Brown, was brilliant, and would even fetch us extra towels herself if the housekeeping team had left for the day. She was always visible and approachable, happy to help in any way. Carol in reception was great too, always friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. Then there’s the bar team, Tre, who used to be at Mango Bay, Ramon, and “The Mixologist” Lamar. Offered a brilliant mix of cocktails, on and off the list. These guys were worth their weight in gold, especially getting on towards 9pm when everyone was doubling up before the bar closed. I think some reviews of this place have been harsh, and possibly from people expecting aSandals experience for the price of Island Inn. Before I list my negative points, we are planning to return next year.
So my gripes are: With the curfew in place you can’t get a drink in the hotel after 9pm. I think in place of the hours “lost” at the bar, that perhaps a mini bar in the rooms should be provided, even if it were just for soft drinks.
Sometimes towels weren’t brought to the room until into the evening, so we had to rush showering to be ready for dinner.
I would have liked the room to be sprayed with insecticide either when cleaned or whilst you vacate for the evening, we have had this at previous hotels, and we didn’t get bitten nearly as much as we did this year…… this is NOT a complaint about mosquitoes:)
All in all we absolutely loved this place. It’s intimate, friendly and clean, and I couldn’t fault any of the food. Looking forward to returning, and dancing with Miss Brown again!

Drinks are unlimited but the bar closes at 11 pm. Bottled water is included. Meals are breakfast, lunch , afternoon tea and a 3 course dinner. Portion sizes are not big however the standard of food is very good and you will not go hungry. I hope this helps.
