Just got back from a great week at Pompano. We've stayed at Southampton Princess the last few times we were there, but it's now closed. Pompano is smaller, has a more personal vibe, and has WAY better ocean views from almost every spot on the property. It's built on a somewhat steep hill so expect lots of stairs and hilly walks (see below for accessibility comment). I had an ocean front room in one of the buildings on the same level as the lobby. Bathroom was HUGE, big soaking tub, big separate shower. Balcony was also quite big. Mini fridge. Decor-maybe slightly dated, but in good shape and clean. Housekeeping was great. 2 restaurants both have views from every seat. Full breakfast is included every day. We didn't get the dinner plan--seems that most do, and it's probably worth it if you're not going out most nights--eating out in Bda is insanely expensive. The main bar is lovely, again with views and indoor/outdoor seating. Standard pool bar, not too expensive. The pool was fine, just a bit small compared to SouthP. My favorite thing was the tiered seating areas. From the pool on down to the beach, there were short steps of stairs with terraced seating areas that only had a few chairs in each. You could always find a private place to sit and enjoy the view. The 2 lower level hot tubs were nice. The beach isn't huge, but there were enough chairs and you can grab your own umbrella, noodles, etc. Pool bartenders came down to take drink orders on the beach (beach tiki bar was closed), I even saw them call out to a woman out in the ocean to ask if she wanted a drink lol. At low tide you can walk WAY WAY out. There are 2 floating rafts you can walk/swim to. One is pretty far, but doable at low tide. They rent all sorts of water craft, boards, etc. The staff at the desk, bars, restaurants, etc. were all friendly, helpful, and all work their butts off. Some seemed like they were always there. The owners are all over the place, very friendly. They shuttle/golf cart people around the property and out to local stores, bus, etc. Negatives: the island is having a seaweed thing this year--staff rake it every day but it's a losing battle--it's not gross and slimy, didn't bother me. The hotel's a bit too far west for my liking--the cab ride to airport, Hamilton (for mandatory covid test), etc. isn't cheap! There's no real gift shop. Mixed drink strength was inconsistent. Accessibility: Because it's on steep property, there are stairs everywhere. I didn't see an elevator, but I feel like there must be something somewhere?? If you have mobility issues, DEFINITELY call and inquire about accessibility to get to rooms, lower restaurant, pool and beach. I didn't see any way to get to the beach other than stairs (or boat lol), but maybe I'm missing something. Solar: They just went fully solar powered! Price: compared to the rest of the world, it's crazy expensive. Compared to the other Bda resorts, it's not bad. COVID: Poor Bermuda. I've been going for 30 years and I've never seen so few tourists. Dockyard and St. Geo were empty. I don't know how they're making it work financially.

Tom & Larry Lamb are so welcoming and friendly, and so is their staff. The resort is right on the water's edge, and the snorkeling is great. We got the fabulous dinner plan that includes a full sit-down breakfast & a 5-course dinner in two beautiful restaurants with ocean views. There is a wide variety of dinner options, and the menu changes. It eve includes lobster, filet mignon, pasta dishes, shrimp, fish, and excellent desserts. The food is EXCELLENT!!! Our favorite servers were Lynn, & Greg. They make you feel happy, welcomed, and go out their way to make you feel like family. The pool & three hot tubs are very nice. The ocean front rooms are terrific! They will even take you to the local store to buy wine & beer. The Bermudian Rail trail is just down the street, and there is a PGA golf course right next to the Resort. Kim, Lee, Eugene are great. We loved playing pickel ball too.

The service at this resort is amazing. Every need was attended to. The bartender Velda was so great and had such a fun personality. Lee and Greg we’re also great! The beach was beautiful. Food and drinks were wonderful. There are a lot of steps to get to the beach. Also, there are a lot of stairs to get to rooms, but they will always offer to drive you to your room. We will definitely come back, even with all the steps because the service and attention to detail was amazing.

We have stayed here on two different trips. The first was a five-night stay July 2020, when the island was just opening up after covid. We loved it so much, we decided to go back again July 2021. We just returned from a 10-night stay. The staff here are amazing. The owners, Tom and Larry, are extremely friendly and will do anything they can to make your stay enjoyable. The views here are OUTSTANDING! The beach is convenient, if small. It is not too far from other, more pubic beaches. Larry helped us to rent a Twizy (tiny electric car) and we used that to get around all over the island. The room was a good size, with a big balcony that had a wide view of the ocean and beach. Finally, we did not choose to use the full meal package, but we were told by other guests that the dinners are amazing. We did have the full breakfast each day. Food was good and service was efficient and friendly. We would recommend Pompano to anyone wanting to have a beautiful view at breakfast, from the gym, and from the beach. :-) We will definitely return to Pompano!!

we can't say enough about this property. tom lamb is the hardest working hotel owner we have ever seen. he personally takes care of EVERYTHING! cyndi at the front desk is also spot on. all the other staff members get your request handled immediately. we have never eaten almost all our meals at a resort but here the food was tremendous. also they will shuttle you to port royal for golf. the view was amazing. we can't imagine a nicer place. this was our 4th trip to bermuda and the first time at pompano beach. we won't go anywhere else
