This hotel is still reeling from COVID and a variety of other issues. There was no food available when we arrived and had to quarantine at the hotel - not having any food accessible for people who cannot leave the hotel is absurd. Throughout the trip our key stopped working on a daily basis. One group was locked out and had to move rooms in the middle of the trip with no help or any sort of compensation because the electronic lock was broken on the room. The bar was open randomly at odd hours, often with no liquor options and we had to search for someone multiple times to just pour beer or wine. When we did have bar service, staff was freely complaining about making drinks. There were no clean pool towels available multiple times and we had to go looking for them so the front desk could hunt down pool towels. Additionally, the ferry to Hamilton broke or had no one there to drive it multiple times during our 6 day stay. Service at the hotel was minimal and not at all what Newstead promises. By far the most incredible misrepresentation of what this hotel has to offer is the connection to Elbow Beach and Coco Reef. Both beaches have been destroyed in storms and have been almost entirely abandoned. You have to hike across a hill and down rocks to access the beach and the sole open restaurant. there are a handful of umbrellas and chairs on the beach - or you can carry them down the side of the hill and set them up yourself! There was 0 service on the beach as advertised. Elbow Beach Hotel has been completely abandoned is literally crumbling as it stands. The advertising compared to the state of the beach is frankly fraudulent. Bermuda is beautiful, the people are lovely, and we had a great time. However what Newstead has to offer and what they’re promoting to guests are far from equal. I sadly would not advice anyone to stay here.

This is our 3rd stay at Newstead over the years. Getting to bda post covid was kind of a pain with our direct flight not available anymore and all the testing. But I get it. Bermuda is still the best island for us. And Newstead is still our top pick. We find the location to really be the best and the staff here is always helpful. We enjoyed the new pool bar set up. Sula the bartender is a passionate mixologist and made our time at the pool and bar quite fun. The sushi was the best I’ve had!!! Sasha was a wonderful and friendly server! Aurora was also exceptional for any meal. We love the view and the chef — Adam — made dining special. My only suggestions would be to keep the pool bar open! It is closed Sunday and Monday and the night we arrived on a Wednesday it was also closed. Why? There were plenty of customers. Also, aurora is pricey. Like, more so than anywhere else. We paid, no complaints, but it’s noticeable. Also, thinking a furniture upgrade should come soon for the rooms. This place is still our choice! The view, location w ferry , staff at front desk and restaurant, and a smaller feel. We will be back.

First off, if you are interested in seeing the video I made of the property, go to YouTube and type in "Vlog/Review of the Newstead Belmont Hills Hotel Golf Resort and Spa in Bermuda" and it is on Pat's Adventures channel. It will give you a great overview of the property. We stayed here while on the island, and the hotel is a 10, along with the staff and food. Location could not be better, right on the water and a water shuttle to Hamilton or quick taxi. Our cottage room was perfect! Very large with kitchen (I show it in the video) and right on the water. I cannot say enough good!

Sadly leaving a great long weekend in Bermuda. Just a review for those coming in four weekend trips. 1. We came from a Friday to Monday and they test you on arrival at BDA. We were able to use those same results to fly home. No additional test needed.we are fully vaccinated so we stayed onsite at our resort until the results were emailed (around 11pm). 2. We stayed at the Newstead Belmont Hills | Golf Resort & Spa | BERMUDA and our stay was absolutely fabulous. We originally booked a double queen room which had a lanai and walk out. Day Two we upgraded for $100 per night, to a one bedroom suite with kitchenette, dining room, two bathrooms and a full balcony accessed from the living and bed room. It was worth every penny.the double room did not have a microwave but the one bed had that and dishwasher, microwave and full size fridge. 3. Had a couples massage that was so good we extended from 50 to 80 mins. 4. Had room service for breakfast and also ate at Aurora....both excellent but slow...remember that everyone is truly on island time 😇 5. Best service was at Marea the new seafood spot by the pool. They rocked it the whole weekend...accommodating us by bringing us restaurant food to the pool along with drinks and desserts all weekend. Big Shout Out to Sula the bartender and Jenni. They are one of the reasons we will be back. One more thing for the beach lovers...there was lots of seaweed and a jellyfish warning when we visited Horseshoe Bay so research your beach options if that your thing. Another big shout out Tahnee and Brooke at the front desk for accommodating our room switch. Ordering a million taxis with changes and scheduling our tours. Fabulous crew and fabulous resort.

My friends and I love this hotel for a staycation (we live/work in Bermuda). There are many hotels, but this is a great location for town, has great facilities (spa/pool!!!!) and the restaurant is perfect if a tad pricey. I say pricey because in Bermuda, although an average sit down tablecloth, 3 course meal service, you would expect 23-$35 for your main, but at Aurora they are $28-$42. The service and execution in infallible. Presention and setting are supreme. Modern, clean and not austere, but light and beautiful. Rooms are MODERN with everything you'd need. This place still lightens my heart. Balconies are a JOY too. Who doesn't want a infinity pool where you can watch the boats leave the capital harbour?!! Oh, and they provide a ferry in the summer from the hotel straight into town.
