Granaway Bed and Breakfast is truly a romantic Getaway. Carol and Michael are gracious host, Francesco, their right hand man is always there when you need him. A great breakfast served at your private outdoor table complete with bone China and sterling silver tea and coffee pots. A beautiful secluded pool with a beautiful garden. A wonderful view of Granaway Bay and The city of Hamilton. The home was built in the 1700s by a retired English sea captain and has stood the test of time.
Thank you Carol and Michael for a wonderful start to our wedding anniversary,
Dan and Theresa

My husband and I just spent an idyllic week at Granaway B&B in Warwick Parish, Bermuda. An 300 yr old property with all the charm of an historic home with modern conveniences, gorgeous grounds and pool, located on the harbor. Water views from every room. All creature comforts. Very conveniently/centrally located. Hosts Carol and Michael in the business for over 4 decades have hospitality down to proper English china and endless good guidance/knowledge of the island paradise. We will definitely be back, and if we could have taken Francisco home with us we would have!

Such a lovely stay in this beautiful place. The garden and pool area are stunning - we could have swam all day there looking at all the amazing plants in this tropical paradise. Really nice location just by the water with its own private pier. The team are very friendly and helpful too.

My family was supposed to stay at Granaway, but COVID-19 changed that. When I tried to inquire about cancelling the reservation before the cancellation fee kicks in at 60 days, they refused to respond to any calls/emails. The one time I got them on the phone, Carol told me that she had an important call on the other line and asked that I call later. If the call on the line was so important, why take my call? When I called later, no response. She finally responded to my email and said not to worry about the cancellation fee due to the situation. She also said that they could hold onto our deposit until we are able to stay, but organizing a large family trip was difficult and we didn't know when we could all come together again.

After our flights were cancelled, my family decided that the best decision was for us to cancel. I tried to contact Granaway via phone and email, but again no response. It became clear that they were avoiding me to not pay a refund. I'm sure COVID-19 has had a negative impact on their business, but it has impacted millions of people and there is no excuse for being shady. After several weeks, I am still trying to get the refund. Stay tuned...

The Granaway guest house is a very nice place to stay in Bermuda and of course one of the least expensive options. The room was spacious and clean, the owners very friendly, and the fresh baked muffins and toast w/jam was a great start to the day. They have a really nice pool with a fountain that my kids loved, and since it's a guest house, chances are you'll have the pool all to yourself.

Only downside is location. It's a short walk to the ferry that takes you to the major spots, but you have to walk in the road (no sidewalk) to get there. Also, it's too far to the nice southshore beaches to walk. We took a cab to get to the beach.

They do have a website with pictures.

I contacted the owner Carol Ashton in February for an Aouldpril vacation, I asked her several questions regarding what I was looking for and if location be able to accommodate our needs. I told her that I was traveling with my teenage daughter and myself. My concerns were we would be located near everything that we would sightsee, and the safety for us getting around, being two girls. Carol said they were very closely located to everything we would want to do that there are busses, Ferries, and taxis.
When we arrived Granaway guest houses were way out of the way, it was a $40.00 taxi ride and not located near anything. The house looked in shabby condition and not kept, kinda dirty. There were cat's and dog's running around the house, which she failed to mention. My daughter is highly allergic to cat's she get shots for it! I can't believe she would not disclose something like that. We needed to eat and Carol threw a map at us and told us to walk almost a mile to the bus around dangerous conners with no sidewalks. We made it to Hamilton finally after waiting a very long time for a bus. After getting lunch we waited another long time for a bus back, we were passed by several busses because Granaway is NOT on the bus route, when we finally got a bus to take us , they took us to another place called Granaway Heights?? Which we were left on the side of the road with no way of getting back. We were frantic to say the least. I knocked on some random door to ask for help, my daughter was tired and crying because there are no sidewalks and we were walking & walking not knowing where to go. This very nice person gave us a ride all the way back. I was so upset with Carol. The first thing out of Carols mouth was that she was not letting me out of the week. Carol is a deceptive person who was not honest on the other end of the phone because of wanting to rent her place. The house is run down and smells of mildew, beds are hard and the whole house is loud. We ended up leaving because I decided Carol Ashton was not going to bully me on my only week vacation. She kept a deposit she should not have kept. Very upsetting for our first visit to Bermuda. Don't make the same mistake I did. I spent a little more money to go to a resort but worth it. The resort never get's their guests lost & close to all attractions. Bermuda was beautiful but we went the wrong time. Another thing Carol said that April was perfect. After speaking to people who live there, they said no I would not have suggested that for you.

We didn't want or need a resort hotel, just a place to sleep while we visited everywhere else on the island. The Granaway not only provided us a nice room, a great continental breakfast each day (Marlene baked delicious scones or muffins fresh every morning), but it also gave us a chance to meet two of the nicest folks on the island - our hosts Michael and Carol. From the minute we arrived, they made us feel like old friends (and in fact, almost every guest we met during our week there was a return visitor). They joined us for breakfast every morning and their knowledge of the island, as well as numerous other subjects, always made for lively conversation. A highlight for us was the night Michael unexpectedly invited everyone out on his boat for Dark & Stormy and cheese sunset cruise.

It's small, it's an old house (which means if you are fussy stay away; you'll see some spots where paint is peelingthe windows may be a little finicky) but it was extremely clean and it was convenient to the ferry to Hamilton, though if you stay in town late (and we always did) you will need to take a taxi back.

The only reason I wouldn't recommend Granaway is that I'm afraid if word gets out, it will make it more difficult to get a room the next time we go back, but I'm sure Carol and Michael will always find a way to make sure their new friends (us) have a room when we visit.

Oh, and by the way, Bermuda is a beautiful island. While Wilma kept us on edge and stirred up the waters a bit, we had no trouble finding ways to enjoy all the island has to offer. We can't wait to go back.

My wife and I just returned from a week at the Granaway Guest House and highly recommend it. We are frequent visitors to Bermuda and Granaway is a great find. We rented their cottage which is very quiet and private - with its' own garden and a very complete kitchen. The pool is lovely and their deep-water dock was a great place to watch the sun go down. The Harbour Rd location isn't close to the beaches, but they're only about 10 minutes away by scooter. Finally, the owners, Carole and Michael are very gracious hosts who will do everything possible to please their guests.

My wife and I just returned from our wonderfully memorable 10th anniversary in Bermuda and our stay at the extraordinary Granaway Guest House in early June. We stayed at a resort for our honeymoon ten years ago and debated whether to return or stay at this guest house. Are we ever so glad we decided on Granaway for the five days and four nights. Not only is it half the cost per night, more importantly, the room we had (the Pink Room) was spacious (with private bath) and the complimentary continental breakfast each morning was superb (fresh fruit cup and warm muffins). It is in walking distance to either the bus or ferry and we very much liked how Granaway was centrally located in the middle of the island and only a 15 minute ferry ride to Hamilton. My wife and I also loved being able to take swims in the fresh water pool out back anytime, surrounded by beautiful tropical foliage. A suggestion is to start your morning early sitting on the intimate second story balcony (which overlooks Hamilton Harbour) as the sun comes up....truly peaceful and truly memorable. As we left, my wife and I decided that the only thing about Granaway we were upset about was that we did not decide to stay longer......which we will do the next time.....and definitely at the Granaway Guest House.

My husband and I just returned from our eighth trip to Bermuda. After staying at cottage colonies in the past, we decided we wanted a different Bermuda experience and the Granaway Guest House certainly provided that. We were graciously welcomed by Carol and Michael, our hosts, and we were thrilled with their knowledge about Bermuda and in their genuine interest in making this stay in Bermuda our best yet. Our room was lovely with a a private balcony overlooking Hamilton and the harbor. Breakfast was served on this balcony daily by Francisco and consisted of fresh fruit, beautiful muffins or scones baked by Michael, eggs occasionally, and tea and coffee poured from a silver service. One of the highlights of our week was a harbor cruise on board Michael and Carol's boat with wonderful commentary of the island provided by our hosts. We loved the Granaway pool nestled amidst lush tropical foliage and on days when the ocean surf proved a little too challenging we enjoyed our respite at the pool. We are already planning our return to Granaway next year.

Answer from Granaway
Hello! We do have a waterview room available from the 20th - 24th of April. Perhaps you might stay with us a few nights and another property for a few nights. Please let me know if I can help make some suggestions. The rate would be $ 170 plus tax and service charge - the total I can offer you would be $ 200 per night and this includes breakfast. I hope you choose to stay with us at Granaway! Cheers! Carol Ashton
