My wife and I stayed at Barbuda Belle for 3 nights over a long weekend. From the moment that we arrived, we felt like we had been welcomed into the nice, cozy beach home of a family member. The one- bedroom “Frigate” bungalow that we stayed in was well-appointed with a large balcony, wooden floors/furniture, L’Occitane toiletries in the bathroom, and a large window that opened up to a splendid view of the pink sandy beach. During our stay, there were no more than 4-6 other guests, so we felt very fortunate (and spoiled!) to have this paradise largely to ourselves. Having traveled extensively throughout the Caribbean to islands such as Anguilla, St Barth, Grand Cayman, and Great Exuma we are not easily impressed by most beaches – but impressed we were by the beach at Barbuda Belle as well as other beaches on the island and other forms of nature more generally! Apart from the sheer beauty of the location, Barbuda Belle’s key asset is its warm and caring staff and the high level of service they happily provide. Caroline was extremely helpful in handling our reservations, as well as answering questions about the resort and Barbuda months ahead of our arrival. Once we arrived at the airport in Barbuda, the manager, Claudette Thomas, warmly welcomed us and accompanied us for the 10-15 minute boat ride to the resort. She was wonderful at organizing our trips around the island to places such as Princess Diana Beach and the Frigate Bird Sanctuary (many thanks to Scott and Rell for the tour!). She also checked in regularly to see if we needed anything. The food at Barbuda Belle was phenomenal, led by their French chef! He cooked up most dishes from scratch. Some of our favorites included the conch fritters, lobster bisque, lobster and foie gras ravioli, beef filet, the French toast, the apple tart, and the Chocolate Fondant (not to mention the breakfast pastries and homemade yogurt). Ann Marie was extremely hospitable at breakfast and offered helpful suggestions for things to do on Barbuda. The bartender Alexander made a wonderfully potent rum punch and was a fount of Barbudan knowledge. The resort also has a spa and the masseuse Afiya provided a stellar massage treatment. In short, we had a nice relaxing holiday at Barbuda Belle and look forward to returning to share this special place with our children and/or other family members!…
Staying for extended weekend of 5 days total, Barbuda Belle is the right place to be. A remote and secluded place with only eight bungalows but best service, excellent chef, confirmable rooms, very clean, with everything u need in a superb accommodation. A big wow to the view and wonderful piece-full location. If one is looking to relax a couple of days - definitely Barbuda Belle is the right place.
I think it will take all my writing skills to describe how much we enjoyed the Barbuda Belle without writing page after page, but I will try. We were scheduled come last year about this time when the hurricane devastated the entire island. We had already made a sizable deposit so naturally were concerned. The Belle offered to honor our deposit and give us a sizable discount if we would return at a later date. So we did. Presently the only way to get to Barbuda is from Antiqua (unless you charter a private plane). The island has a small but adequate landing strip and our flight took about 15-20 minutes using a small aircraft with a maximum capacity of 8 persons. Upon landing we were greeted by the properly manager, Claudette, upon arrival, got in a pick up with luggage in back and driven through town still showing many effects of the hurricane, and five minutes later we arrived at a boat dock. We had no idea we were going to boat to our destination. After a ride of 15 minutes we arrived at the Barbuda Belle and greeted warmly by the small staff. Our stilted college offered a large outdoor breezy porch, a four poster mosquito proof netted bed and bathroom with a wonderful shower with large fluffy towels. But the most amazing thing, besides the view of the ocean, was the food. We can only gush at how wonderful the chef was. Three meals a day were a culinary delight. If you are a foodie this is the place for you. I humbly suggest that it is worth coming here for the food if nothing else. The place is completely environmentally sufficient with solar panels supplying electricity and water desalination treatment. The lodge is beautiful with a fully equipped bar. There are big plans for the island’s future with a possible golf course and expanded international airport. …
We went to Barbuda belle for a day and had lunch there. The hotel was completely rebuilt after Irma and is looking absolutely stunning! Food was delicious and fresh, and prices were fine (1 drink + generous starter + main at $50)! The staff spoiled us and were really lovely. Barbuda Belle's pink sand beach is a must-see on the island and most likely you'll have an 11 miles beach to yourself. If you are looking for the perfect sea-view lunch, this place is for you!
