We really enjoyed this resort and the island. We visited for 5 days and didn't really explore off the resort. The customer service was terrific and the beach was small, but lovely. We had brought our puppy with us and the staff couldn't have been kinder to her. The water is very still and terrific for floating and water sports. It's close to the airport and the taxi drivers were wonderful as well. We were anxious about the airport on the way back to the US from previous reviews, but although there were a number of steps to the process, we didn't encounter many lines at all and the airport employees were gracious and helpful. We did leave on a Monday though versus a weekend. The only reason we didn't rate the resort a 5 is that the food was pretty mediocre and very expensive. I understand the island is expensive and the resort is as well, but we stay at a number of luxury resorts and this food definitely good be improved.

I have been coming to Aruba for 10 years and I love the professionalism and kindness that is consistent each and every time I stay at this property. From Luis at the front desk to Anthony at Madero to my gems at the casino, Judyanne, Soriydia, Luis and Rosanna. They are magical - they always remember my beverage of choice and have a pleasant and kind demeanor, followed by a smile. Also, the young lady at the VIP desk (upon entering) whose name escapes me (former blonde now brunette). The gentlemen at the door are always helpful and never cease to open doors and assist me. Sure these are their jobs however, I want it be known that they go ABOVE AND BEYOND! Of course I have stayed at better and more luxurious hotels however, I continue to come back to Aruba specifically because of the service I receive at this particular Ritz Carlton! I've visited a few times during the COVID-19 pandemic and I am extremely elated at the care and attention to detailed cleanliness, organization and sanitization they provide at all times but especially now. I stayed at the Marriott Stellaris for years and I do prefer the sand on the beach over there as I feel it is a lot finer. Other than that, Aruba Ritz Carlton, I look forward to seeing you again soon.

We stayed at the Ritz Carlton for seven nights for a conference that my husband and I booked over 10 months ago. We were concerned about traveling during Covid. We had the required Covid test completed in the states within the three day period - But as expected did not have results back in time; therefore, had to have the test at the Aruba airport. They were very organized and well set up. We had results within four hours in the Aruba health app that we downloaded at the airport. The best part about our stay was the hotel and dining staff, beach and pools, and the food. We did not find that the resort was too large and too far to walk; however, our room was fairly close to the elevator with a great view on the six floor looking directly onto the ocean. We also enjoyed the casino every day. The hotel and staff did an exceptional job with safety precautions all wearing mask and for the most part keeping social distancing.

The property was pretty and very clean...very Covid conscious. Personally this property is too large for us, it was too far north to walk anywhere. Staff was kind but not over the top. VERY expensive for everything. High points....Beautiful casino and beach area.

First of all, dealing with the Front Desk at this hotel was a terrible experience. They added $78 in additional fees to my bill that were not disclosed on my room confirmation, and would only take off $20 of those excess fees even though I had a copy of my confirmation showing the expected total, which included taxes and fees. These unexpected fees included mandatory bellman and housekeeping fees that were not disclosed prior to arrival. While we were upgraded to an Executive Oceanfront Suite with a great view, the King bed should have been replaced years ago. As you can see in the photos, this bed had two deep indentations with a “hill” in the middle. It was also too firm and the pillows were not very soft. The bathtub water, while always fairly warm, was never hot. Definitely not in line with what would be expected from an $1100 per night room. For some reason, the hotel was never able to provide housekeeping at a pre-scheduled time. When I called for immediate housekeeping service, they showed up. Each time I called and asked for housekeeping at a later time that day, they never did show up. Each time housekeeping came, they raised the room temperature to 72 degrees, so I had to lower the air conditioning to 70 degrees after every housekeeping service. The parking lot has a drainage issue, so when it rains, the parking lot partially floods. The breakfast buffet was overpriced for what I received. No pastries, toast, or bagels. Just a limited selection of fruit, eggs, bacon, sausage, cheese, and smoked salmon. The beach area where the chairs and umbrellas are located is somewhat narrow due to the vegetation on both sides. The left side of this area also stinks due to rotting vegetation. I would not recommend this hotel. It really felt like they are hurting for money as they gave me such a hard time regarding the extra fees that they added onto the bill, the bed that needed to be replaced years ago, and having housekeeping raise the air conditioning temperature every time they cleaned the room. We did have a chance to visit Bucuti & Tara Beach Resort while here and had dinner there one night - they have a far nicer beach with better service, so would recommend that resort over the Ritz-Carlton.
