This was our 20th year to the Surf Club! We were undecided whether to come because of COVID. However we are so glad we did! Aruba has figured out not only how to manage the incoming visitors but also the residents! The Surf club has a mask policy in place when in doors, hand sanitizer everywhere, and limits the number of people to an elevator to maintain social distance! Our family felt extremely safe! The resort is well maintained and the staff are very helpful!!! As long time owners, we thank you for a much needed vacation!

It was a few months ago, but I remember ever detail. It is such a kid friendly place - I should know as I am a kid. So if you go there you might see a lizard or an iguana. If you get a room with a double, it is so good for jumping on. I think the resort is meant for family fun. Go in the lazy river for some fun time or lazy time. Sometimes they have bingo for some money - fun, but I think I have never won. They have great food and for the adults they have a bar in the water and out. There are a lot of palm trees. The pool leads to the lazy river and the lazy river leads in to the other pool area. In the pool there is a big water slide - so fun!. Now, moving inside, there is a lot of space in the bedroom and bathroom. You will have a kitchen in your room. Fun fact - Aruba has very spicy hot sauce. Please do not give it to your kids if they can not handle a spicy pepper. Back to the the place, the staff is so nice - they could be your new best friend. they have fun games and so much more. Parents don't forget happy hour (yes I know what that is). This place is so cool. It will be your second home. THIS IS BY A 8 YEAR OLD. I hope that you have a good time. :)

I’ve stayed here more times than I can count and have never been disappointed. Proper precautions are in place to help keep us safe. One change involves the palapas. They are on a first come first served basis because of COVID. No housekeeping services for time share visitors. I’m in the Spyglass tower and a recording comes on when you are entering the building to remind you to wear a mask. That said, I keep my mask on while walking on the grounds but I don’t see others doing the same. That does worry me. The room is clean and beds are comfy. Kitchen well stocked. Washer and dryer in the unit. They even left detergent. Even though there has been rain I have not experienced a mosquito issue as I had at another property a few days ago. Looking forward to a return in ‘21.

Just got back from a short week at Marriott Surf Club. The resort is amazing, several pools, a lazy river that did not disappoint and restaurants close by. Their COVID prevention measures are clear and displayed all over the resort. Small hand washing stations, hand sanitizer stations everywhere. Security all over the pool enforcing wrist bands (you are supposed to wear one for Marriott) and ensuring mask compliance indoors. Elevator allows only 1 person at a time unless in same family. Social distancing dots and arrows on the floor. Felt extremely safe. Lounge chairs are disinfected for you and tags applied. resort had plenty of pool chairs and beach palapa's. Pool bar was closed, but you can climb out of the pool for a minute to get a drink then get back in. My family and I were impressed with the measures they took and had in place to make you feel comfortable on vacation. Definitely worth the hassle of the entry requirements to gewt out of town and Marriott did not let us down. Had a great time! Ocean was very warm and smooth, no waves. Great for small children.

Just got home with my family (husband, daughters age 1 and 3, and in-laws) from a week at the Surf Club. After a little confusion with check-in, we had a wonderful time all week long. We stayed in the lighthouse tower (got a great deal off of Redweek.com) 2 bedroom/2 bathroom unit. The place was immaculate. Everything was well sanitized and exceptionally clean. The hotel itself is super clean as well. The staff is taking extra precautions with cleanliness. I swear they must have someone dedicated to just cleaning the elevators all day long because every time I went in one it was spotless. There was no daily housekeeping but it didn't bother me. They give you everything to keep your room clean and provide extra towels. I think there was plenty of security and staff throughout the hotel and on the grounds. Everyone was welcoming and polite. I felt like Aruba really had it's act together. There was plenty of sanitation stations and everyone wore a mask. Even outside in 88 degree weather, staff at the restaurants pushed on. We had dinner off the resort and it was great. Here's some good places to eat at: (Most are great fish restaurants). 1. Wackey Wahoos- great fish dishes 2. Oak- great everything dishes and drinks 3. Madame Janettes- great fish dishes and desserts 4. Quinta Del Carmen- great fish dishes 5. Sole Mare- great Italian dishes We rented a car from Thrifty for part of the vacation (was best price we could find). We went food shopping at the Super Foods for mostly breakfast items and snacks. Here are some tips I learned while there: Bring a tube for floating in the lazy river or in the ocean. If you don't want to drift in the ocean bring something to fill with sand and a rope to use as an anchor with your tube. You can buy floats at the resort and even in town but I don't know if Amazon will be a better cost. Also, right by the towel swap/drop off, is an electric air pump for quick tube filling. Bring a small cooler to take to the beach. Even though staff will come around for drinks it'll be better to make your own. If you want to go to the beach everyday stay at the Lighthouse Tower. It's closest to the beach. The Spyglass is the furthest. If you want a prime spot on the beach, try to get to the beach a little before 7 to reserve your chairs. Use the orange chair tags they provide to secure a spot. And tip the guy helping you setup. These guys work hard in the heat and sun, sanitizing your chairs and setting up your towels.I gave $5 a day to help me out. Try and make reservations to places you know you really want to eat at. The tables have to be spread out so I don't think places can seat as many people as they normally would. Lastly, you'll want to print out your negative COVID test results and keep a copy with you. When you land in Aruba they make you show your results (even though you already submitted them online with the ED submission). You still need to show them at the airport. Once you show them your acceptable negative test will you receive a paper stating your free to travel throughout the country. You'll need to hand the card to the receptionist at check-in. It lets the hotel know that you do not need to be quarantined in your room. And when you go out to eat, restaurants ask you to fill out a paper with your name, hotel, phone number, email address, and number of people in your party. I believe this is so the government can track who went where if a COVID breakout were to occur. I hope after reading this you decide to take the much needed vacation and visit Aruba. And although I can't talk for all the hotels I can say that the Marriott Surf Club really impressed me with how clean and comfortable they made myself and my family feel. Take the trip. You'll be happy in the end.
