Reviews Summary
This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.
Powered by AI
Marriott's Aruba Surf Club garners accolades for its diverse pools, lazy river, and sought-after Palm Beach location, with shopping and dining just a short stroll away. However, some guests vocalize challenges with securing pool chairs and feel the sting of high fees diminishing the hotel's value. While the family-friendly atmosphere is a highlight, it occasionally succumbs to boisterous music and crowds. The service is generally commended for its attentiveness, despite occasional reservation hiccups. The cleanliness and room quality receive thumbs up, notwithstanding sporadic service issues and calls for more frequent beach maintenance.

While the rooms-are spacious, it’s time to update the decor. Love the new towels and the towel machines. Much better than waiting on line for towels. Overall, the beach and pool are too crowded and if you are not on line at the exact moment you cannot get a palapa. Makes the vacation much less relaxing. All staff are friendly and try to be very accommodating. Love Aruba but the Surf Club is consistently too crowded!

This hotel has beautiful rooms with amazing views. The lazy river was amazing with iguanas hanging out on the rocks. Unfortunately we don’t have very good feedback over all for the rest of our experience. If you want to be treated like a Marriott Loyalty member the right way, choose the Renaissance in Oranjestad instead. We transferred to that hotel during our trip and our only regret was we didn’t book there for the entire trip. Also we were shocked that Palm Beach was rated #2 beach in Aruba. It was dirty, over crowded and the water was cloudy (lake like) with ropes for a small swimming section and surrounded by boats and water sports-not the picturesque Aruba beach by any means. Baby Beach, Arashi and Boca Catalina are where you want to swim! The service and food at this hotel was sub par. If you want drunken people falling all over themselves and spilling their drinks on you, then book this hotel. If you want minimal service with out a smile, book this hotel. If you want to search high and low for a place to sit at the pool or beach, book it. If you want a 1980’s time share feel…. Book it. If you want to be treated like royalty and relax in a picturesque, Aruba dream vacation where you wish you could never go home, book at Renaissance in Oranjestad, rent a car to get to the pristine beaches I mentioned and thank me later. Aruba truly is a “happy island” just not at Aruba Surf Club!

The kids are guaranteed to have a great time. The staff is lovely, the location is great and the lazy river is where you'll find me. Everyone who visits is always friendly, which makes for a great vacation. The staff is absolutely incredible. Always so warm and friendly. The food by the pool is delicious for breakfast and lunch. Easy to have food delivered too and cook on the grills if you'd like. Can't wait to return!

Love this place! I've been going there for the past 10 years and yes I love it. Everyone is very helpful and nice. I would love to be easier to get a palapas at the beach and maybe the system to only allow a family of 4- 6 to only rent 1 palapas per day . This way everyone can get one based on the amount of travelers are renting certain period of the year. That is the only negative thing I have to say. Otherwise, I'll see you in May. Thank you for having such a nice resort.

We had a wonderful time. We had a beautiful room facing the pool on the 14th floor. The lazy pool was amazing as usual. The staff very friendly. Jasmine thank you for everything. I appreciate you. My only wish was better music by the pool. Dance music is not the preferred choice. Island vibes are better. Can you please work on that. Other than that it was amazing

Terrible customer service and downhill experience year after year. Bought here pre construction now we’re stuck with terrible customer service year after year. Chairman club members and get treated terribly by staff at this location. Nobody can ever help you, everyone has an attitude. Ben from front lobby sales staff is an embarrassment to the brand and should be emptying trash cans instead of dealing with consumers. Repulsive attitude and comments made about me and my family. Asked for a manager and of course none is available. Have to get up at 6 AM to reserve lounge chairs that people reserve all day and never return to. Only one security guard actually enforces the two hour policy. Interior of rooms, musty/ old needing repairs and refurbishing. Can’t request more shower towels for the room bc they won’t give them, just really makes you regret buying into this timeshare brand. This is what they do, and now that they have you they raise the maintenance fees every year and the customer service is atrocious and no one bats an eye .

It's looking tired. In need of an update badly. Shower leaked, tile grout looked black from wear and tear, dishwasher barely worked, sink smelled from the garbage disposal, cracked dishes etc JUST TIRED. The wear makes everything look dirty and old. The pool chair process ruins the vacation. Being up every single day before 5am just to get a pool chair does not equal a relaxing vacation. There are MUCH nicer places elsewhere that don't require you to get up every day at 430am just to get a chair. Yes that's real...before 5am...every single day. Does that sound fun and relaxing? Staff of the hotel were nice.

First, thank you to the security team who was excellent when my little one got lost. They were on top of it and communicated with staff at the surrounding hotels and he was found safe and sound after only a few minutes! Went with 3 young kids and there was so much for them to do. My 5 year old loved the splash pad and the kids' club. Kids loved the lazy river, pools, water slide, and swim up bar. Palapa is great if you're able to get one - use a laptop, not a phone. Otherwise, highly recommend! Can't wait to return.

The 1 bedroom ocean view apartment was amazing! Clean. New. Spacious. Quiet rooms and apartment. Great bathrooms. Comfortable beds including sofa bed. The beds are More comfortable than the Stellarious. I gave it 4 stars because the complex design creates a tremendous amount of wind within the property, and our building was too far from the beach (spyglass). it’s great for families with small children and teens. We went with our adult daughter. We stayed at the Stellarious last year. Next year, we will try the Ocean Club, which has apartments but it’s closer to the beach.

We just came back from our stay in Aruba. We stayed 5 nights at the Marriott Stellaris Resort, but extended our trip a day early, so wanted to try a vacation club out. This was our first time at a vacation club. We go to Aruba every year and wanted to see if this is where we should book our next stay. Check in was long, but it was fine. The room was great... very big and comfortable. Let me tell you why I am leaving 1 star... for reference I am an Ambassador elite. I am mentioning that because I spend most of my weekdays in Marriotts of all types. From all my 200+ stays/year, this has by far been the worst experience. As mentioned we only stayed for one night, but was told of all the amenities, so we did book a palapa for the following day (and paid for it). Prior to moving over to the resort, we checked in and got chairs for our palapa. All was fine... until we came back in an hour with towels from Marriott Stellaris... we had no idea this was an issue.. the chair attendant was so nasty to use and took one of our chairs from our palapa for another guest. We even showed him our ticket that shows we paid for this palapa. We then went to the hut where we checked in and as I was trying to talk to the guy in the hut, the chair guy came over and nastly stated we had towels from the other resort. I tried to explain that we were staying in this hotel and just checked in next door and grabbed towels there since we walked by that towel hut. I was told this was not allowed. I said I was confused I didn't know I was not allowed to rent a palapa, as the system allowed me to and I was instructed how to upon check in. He said it was because I had towels from the resort... so I said ok I can get towels, but no he continued to say that if I am staying over there I need to go back. He then cancelled my reservation... The whole experience was ridiculous.. If the rule was you can not reserve a palapa on the day you were checking out, this should be stated or at least not allowed to be done on the website. This really ruined the beginning of our trip. I have never had anyone speak to me like this at any property. I will never come back here or recommend this property.
