The Divi Aruba Phoenix Beach Resort is often celebrated for its inviting atmosphere and amicable staff, alongside the comfort of its plush beds. While some guests have experienced mustiness and HVAC problems in rooms, others commend the cleanliness and updated decor of renovated units. The resort's prime location is a highlight, with easy access to the beach and nearby attractions. Opinions on value vary, with praise for the food but some criticism for beach access and service. Amenities like the pristine pool and dining options are popular, though beach chair availability has been a concern for some.

We’ve stayed at this resort many times. The accommodations are wonderful and the staff is amazing. The hotel is beautiful and you just walk right out the lobby, past the pools, and the beach is right there! The rooms have everything you need from kitchen amenities to an ironing board, safe, and everything else that you would need to feel as comfortable as you would at home. Speaking of comfortable, the beds are super plush and so are the pillows. Our last stay was in November 2024 and even with a very rainy day, they kept the pools immaculate, and the sidewalks clear of any excess water and sand that washed up during the storm. 5 STARS!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We spent a week at Divi Phoenix end of September-early October 2024. Every staff member we encountered was friendly and helpful. The room was not renovated yet, but it was clean and comfortable and we loved the view and spent a lot of time on the balcony. The kitchen had plenty of dishes, cookware, a full size refrigerator, toaster, microwave and coffee maker, for two of us. The only this I would have wanted was a dish cloth or sponge to wash dishes with, the dish soap was provided but we had to go find a sponge at the grocery store to use for the week. Not an issue, just would have been nice to have one provided. The wifi worked great, as my husband did work remotely from the room and he had no connection issues. We have no complaints and we hope to visit again in the future. There is construction going on at the resort, and the newly renovated portions look beautiful. We didn't mind the construction, but it's something to keep in mind if you think it would bother you.

Dear Julia R, Thank you for your lovely review. We are thrilled to hear that you enjoyed your week at Divi Phoenix and found our staff friendly and helpful. It is wonderful to know that, even though your room hasn't been renovated yet, it was clean, comfortable, and perfect for your stay—especially with that beautiful balcony view. We apologize for the missing dish cloth or sponge; these items are usually part of our inventory, and we will ensure they are available in the future. We are also glad the WiFi worked seamlessly for your husband to work remotely—reliable internet is essential these days. Thank you for your understanding about the ongoing construction, and we are delighted that you appreciated the beauty of our newly renovated areas. We look forward to welcoming you back in the future for an even more amazing experience. Kind Regards Ghislaine Chayadi Guest Relations ghislaine.chayadi@diviresorts.com

The Divi Phoenix has a single Phase I Tower Building, a Villas single Building and a newer Phase II which consists of (4) Towers called Building 6, 7, 8, 9. Phase I Tower is the oldest Building and set up more like a traditional hotel room. Villas are older and are a (3) Story Building. Then there is the newer Phase II (4) Towers.

My wife and I have stayed in the Villas and we like being footsteps from the Beach. We enjoy the oversized Living Room & Bedroom, along with the large Balcony in our (1) Bedroom Unit. The only negative at the Villas is the Kitchen and (2) Bathrooms are much smaller than the newer Phase II (4) Towers.

What is important when reading the reviews on Divi Phoenix is what Building the reviewer is actually describing since Divi Phoenix has (3) distinct Building styles.

We stay almost our entire time in the newer Phase II (4) Towers in a very large 902 sq ft 1 Bedroom unit. It has everything we need as we now stay for (3) months at the Divi Phase II. The best part of staying with Divi is being right on the Beach and having access to the large shaded thatched huts (called palapas) on the Beach without paying extra fees like other Resorts.

The Staff at Divi are fabulous (just read all the positive reviews on the Staff as those reviews are quite true) in delivering friendly, professional and personalized service. You will see the same Staff every year when you come back and their Staff turnover is minimal. Divi knows how to provide quality Resort Services.

Their are (2) Restaurants onsite at Divi Phoniex. PureOcean is on the Beach offering higher end food options than PureBeach which is right next to the Beach. Kuddos to Divi for 2023 in getting a higher quality food selection at both Restaurants especially at PureOcean!

In some reviews I have read about "mold" problems and those reviews really bother me. We have been staying in the Phase II Towers since they have opened and have never seen nor experienced mold (I am actually allergic to mold). What those reviewers probably should have stated is at times you will enter a room that has a "musty" smell from the air running too cold to the heat coming in from the open Balcony doors.

As an Owner of commercial Buildings some of our Tenants have also claimed to have mold in their Office. Once the HVAC was properly adjusted the musty smell disappeared which they thought was mold.

So in summary, if you want a great room, be right on the Beach (no highway in front of you like the Resorts at Eagle Beach), great Service, great Happy Hour specials, great food, clean rooms, Swimming Pools & Beach then Divi Villas and Phase II 4 Tower Buildings is where you want to stay.

The room had a terrible smell. The first day we did not have hot water. We inquired about the hot water the next day and about the washer/dryer combo that would not dry our clothes. We were told that maintenance would be up. After waiting over 2 hours, we told the front desk that we were not waiting any longer and going to dinner. At 9 that evening, they called and said that there was an issue with the boiler and couldn't be sure when it would be fixed. The front desk also wasn't aware of the dryer issue.

The next day after attempting to dry clothes for 6 hrs, maintenance looked at the dryer and said there was nothing wrong with it. The front desk offered to show me how to do laundry- such a joke, as a mother traveling with kids, I am aware of how to do laundry and know it doesn't take 6 hours. Also, the clothes were black from.

We booked the room based on it noting both a washer and dryer as well as a kitchen. The washer and dryer is combo and doesn't work. The front desk said the dryer doesn't dry your stuff completely. There is no oven- only a stove top. Also, if the ceiling fans were on in the living room or bedroom, the lights would randomly come on. 9 times one night!

People feed the iguanas around the pool. They poop in the walking areas and it may be hours before this is cleaned up. We found this to be totally disgusting.

If you are traveling with kids, you may want to look for better options. There are very limited activities for them to do. We inquired about one of the activities at the towel hut and were told to sign up at the front desk. The front desk was not able to even locate a list of the daily activities- there was no interest in doing activities other then bingo and water aerobics by the staff. There is no music by the pools during the day and no evening/night activities.

The beach is nice, the gentleman assisting with our luggage and cabs were great, but much nicer places to stay! Don't waste your money.

I just returned from a week at divi phoenix with my husband. This was our 4th trip to Aruba. I must say the beach with the palapa situation is very unfair. The pool/beach boys must be paid by the visitors who tie blue towels around every palapa every morning. We were told it was first come first serve, well my husband was out there super early to find the beach boy reserving palapas for visitors that were not outside to claim their palapa daily. The beach is also very small and palapas are basically on top of each other. We literally had people walking thru mu husband and I lounge chair to walk through the beach. In addition, to the beach.. one night after returning back from a night out we opened our hotel door and a huge roach came running towards us, I was sickened but my husband didn’t want to make it a big deal, he killed it and I slept with the blanket over my head and kept my belongings zippered closed. The resort did not have much outside entertainment at all, it was kinda small and quiet. We got a notice in our room two days before about pre check out. My husband thought he would take advantage of pre checkout and we stood on line at the front desk, while two workers helped others we waited for about many 10 minutes.. while one worker finished up helping someone, a visitor walked up that was not on line that came way after us and headed straight to the help desk… my husband lost his cool as the worker helped that person rather than the people standing on line. We then left the line and never checked out. All and all we live Aruba and we do not plan to visit this property again.

Overall, this resort was a great experience!

Good:
-The pool and beach are beyond beautiful and so clean!
- Staff at the restaurants and bars were top notch: friendly, seemed to enjoy being there and made fantastic drinks. The food was also great.
- 2 for 1 happy hour!
- Great location that is close to shops and restauanrants.
- Very safe and walkable area.

Drawbacks
- the room we had was VERY musty and smelled moldy. After 2 days we had to request a dehumidifier. This mostly solved the problem and I was able to breathe again. I felt awful for 2 days until we got this fixed. I would kind of expect every room to just have a dehumidifier as a default since this seems to be a common problem. Maintenence did respond up within 15 mins so that was good. Though the front desk did not seem to care that this was an issue.

I would absolutely recommend this resort, just make sure you get a newer room and/or immediately ask for a dehumidifier. It makes a world of difference. And don't let people bully you out of moving towels off chairs. Grown adults saving beach chairs is for 6 hours is beyond childish.

It’s always a great feeling to return to Divi Aruba Phoenix Beach Resort and seeing familiar, happy faces. Those familiar faces, plus some new ones, are those who always go over and beyond to make sure your stay is everything you want it to be and more.

Arrival and check in went seamlessly. Rooms Division Manager Hansel Pineda is right on top of things out front as is Ghislaine Chayadi, the very abled assistant to the GM who assisted with a couple things. Saturday arrivals are almost always a hectic day, i.e. rooms being cleaned and sanitized in a reasonable amount of time etc. Housekeeping Director Chido Geerman has turnover day well under control and the room wait was very negligible.

Pure Beach was the choice for lunch and it was a total surprise to see Andres Tapias Navarro behind the bar. For the past several years he was on the beach and pool crew. He’s a more than welcome addition to the bar … he’s got a great magnetic, affable personality and a very solid guy.

The beach and pool gang is second to none … Julio 1, Julio 2 and Ariel are the backbone of the crew and can’t ever do enough for you. Ramón Statie captains a great ship and one wonders how they get everything done. Sandra and Marisol are fantastic ambassadors at the towel hut. O’Neill, the big teddy bear security guard, keeps things well under control both on the beach and around the resort.

Another great time at the Divi Aruba Phoenix Beach Resort. The employees make it all possible. That’s why the countdown to March 2025 has begun!

It is wonderful to hear that Andres Navarro's transition to the Pure Beach bar was well-received and that our beach and pool crew, including Julio 1, Julio 2, Ariel, and Ramón Statie, along with Sandra, Marisol, and O’Neill, left a lasting positive impression on you. The renovation to the outside of the building look great. The inside could have used more than just paint and cabinets. The shower and shower fixtures really need attention. Other than that we love it. Julio is super friendly and always pleasant to talk to!

A beautiful resort, had a wonderful time. The entire staff was excellent. The front desk staff, Wendy and Claudia were very professional, friendly and courteous. The concierge desk staff of Michelle and Adriana treated us like family! The aqua aerobics instructor Dwayne (Little Rock) was fantastic, very entertaining as we exercised in the pool. Ramon the housekeeping supervisor was phenomenal! Our room needed some additional cleaning attention, and the staff was on it quickly and professionally to resolve the problem. Last but not least, the bellmen delivered our luggage in short order to our room and to the lobby on our departure in a timely manner. Special shout out to the ladies working the deli, great service with a smile and some awesome ice cream flavors for our sweet tooth.

I’ll start with the positives - the staff is nice, friendly and tries to be helpful. Unfortunately they don’t communicate when they switch shifts and no one seems able to fully resolve any issues we have had with our rooms. As they deal with issues, presumably from all of the “upgrades” they’re doing, I think less focus should be on changing paint colors, and more focus should be on HVAC issues, fixing basic items in the rooms and on the pool deck and ensuring that the air in the rooms is safe and clean.

The grounds are very nice. Pool is beautiful. The new grill is a nice addition. However, the situation with getting huts on the beach and beach chairs is absolutely awful. Unlike other resorts, no one asks for a room number when you take a chickie/hut so people take many Chickies/huts for one room, which means there aren’t nearly enough for everyone to sit on the beach. They need to rectify the situation and hire people to walk around and check the people are where they signed up to be. This is how it’s done at other resorts here in Aruba and it is much more effective. It’s actually a pretty simple process if they care to try to make it a pleasant experience for everyone staying.

Restaurant food is good. Servers are generally on their game, but there aren’t many options. Happy hour is fun and the live music is a plus for sure.

There’s a lot of room for improvement here. Communication, follow through and certainly a bigger focus on building infrastructure rather than putting “paint on a pig” as they say, would go a long way. And ensuring that people who stay especially owners. should not have to spend their trip dealing with room issues, etc.
