We spent a week at the Divi Phoenix beginning January 8th. Check in was smooth. The good: love the location of the Phoenix, easily walkable to all the shops, restaurants etc. Pool area is nice, and was easy to get loungers daily. Check in was super easy and they have renovated the lobby area. The spa is also VERY reasonable compared to others on the island. The weird: we had a two bedroom unit. It was an odd layout as we had a lockout including a studio so we had two kitchens, three bathrooms and two bedrooms. It was fine but the extra kitchen took up a lot of space but it was fine. Bad: the beds were VERY uncomfortable and loud. They had springs in them and we thought when we would sit on the edge of the bed it was going to break. Also one family daily played with a tennis ball at the pool in the area that has signage that there should be no splashing, horseplay or floatation devices in that area (by the bar) no one ever addressed this even though there is a large area away from adults trying to relax (or end up with pool water in their drink) for playtime. I would say the food was not very good and prices have gone up every in Aruba. The ugly: this has nothing to do with the resort itself, but we met sooo many people that had companions who tested positive for Covid and were quarantining and were told "everyone" had covid the week before we arrived. The worst however was sitting at the pool bar one night when a guy told me had covid and was on day 5. It seemed as if many people were testing as a precaution mid way through trips (most people we met where there a minimum of 2 weeks), and in some cases weren't telling anyone when they tested positive. As a result we tested on Wed and were negative and luckily also tested negative on Friday so we could fly home Saturday. That is my only other complaint is we tested at the resort Friday at 8:50am and did not get our results until 8:00pm. Our flight was Saturday so having to wait that long to upload documents, etc. was stressful. I traveled to Cancun in August and tested at the Marriott I had my results by the time I walked back to the pool (and this was when we had 3 days to test) with only being allowed to test one day ahead of time if you were positive they require a PCR and logistically this would be very challenging and stressful to learn about at night when everything would be closed. Having said all of that we would 100% stay there again.

The resort was the perfect size. It was not too big like a lot of the Aruba resorts. It also had a nice gym with good equipment. The beach was a nice size and clean. The rooms were well maintained and the bed was very comfortable.

As a solo traveler, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this resort and would recommend it to anyone visiting the "One Happy Island". What I loved about the resort was it's proximity to entire beach strip and other resorts on the strip. Being able to hang out on the beach and enjoy the sun and sand was phenomenal.
