We just spent a week in unit 108, which is a 1 bedroom unit on the ground floor by the smaller pool. Check-in was easy and we were given a set of keys. You need to use a card that's with your room key to activate the ac, so that it doesn't run when you're not there. There's an "energy surcharge" that II didn't tell us about (well, they tell you there's a surcharge, but not how much) - it was $7/day. They also charge a pool bar surcharge of $30 that is refunded if you spend that much at the pool bar. There's a small bedroom with a queen size bed and a dresser. The closet has a small safe (you need 1 of the keys for it), an iron & ironing board, and a luggage rack. We did have a little trouble regulating the ac - it seemed like it ran & ran so that in the evenings we'd be cold, but at night it would turn on & off a lot, so that the room would heat up, then cool down. The bathroom is a pretty good size and has a hand soap dispenser at the sink, as well as a body wash & shampoo dispenser in the shower. There is also a clothes line in the tub to hang dry your swim suits. The ac doesn't really reach the bathroom, so it gets a little warm. The kitchen is equipped with all the things you need for a week's stay. There's a regular coffee pot (you need to supply your own coffee). There's another dispenser on the wall with dish soap. If you need to do laundry, you can get the key from the office and they will give you tokens to use ($6.58/load charged to the room) - they are over-sized washer & drier. Housekeeping came a few times - we accidentally locked them out but pushing the button lock on the door knob on the back door. The bathroom has updated tile and a newer vanity, but I'm surprised that the soap dish in the tub and the glass shelf over the sink are old & have quite a bit of calcium build-up or something on them. There are 4 bath towels and 2 pool towels, so you don't need to pack your pool towels. The beach is literally just across the street. Palapas were easy to get. There's plenty of shade at the pools, too. We originally went to Super Foods for some groceries, but then went to Ling and Son's - so much better! They're a little bit further away, but not much, and they had much more selection. We had a wonderful stay, everything was clean and staff were friendly and wore masks. The location is great - just 10 minutes or so to the high rise area, maybe 15 minutes to the airport, 30 minutes or so to Baby Beach. I liked that this was the quieter area compared to the high rise area.

This was the best vacation yet! Aruba is the most beautiful place we have ever been and our stay at La Quinta made it feel like home for a week! La Quinta Resort is not an all inclusive which is what made it feel so comfortable! It’s quiet and quaint, not packed full of people looking for a crazy time with unlimited drinks. If you are looking for drinks, the Kini Kini Bar, right on the resort next to the pool, is the perfect place to go And has 2 happy hours a day. The staff is amazing and felt like family! Rita and Xandra get the day going with great breakfasts and morning drinks (if you like a “strong” coffee, try the frozen cocktail The Brown Lady! It was my favorite way to kickstart the day!). At night you get to spend your time with Danny slinging drinks and jokes and Ab making delicious food, both are hilarious and kept the fun going into the night! Wait until karaoke night, you might be in for a fun surprise if Danny decides to sing! If you are looking for a little lighter fare or a change up from the Kini Kini, check out The Clover, right on the resort across from the main office. It’s so cute in there and they offer delicious smoothies, teas, coffees, and even some vegetarian foods, with great service! If you forgot to buy alcohol or wine to stock your room (at the duty free because of the low prices, which I do recommend) The Clover does have beer, wine and alcohol at reasonable prices. Onto the rooms... they were very clean and updated. The bathrooms were beautiful and new and the kitchens had everything we needed to cook numerous meals (when you go on your grocery run, don’t forget to buy a few storage containers if you plan on having leftovers and aluminum baking pans if you plan on baking any meals). The view from the balcony was great! You can see Eagle Beach just across the street, it was a nice view to wake up to and got us motivated to go and explore. A few fun things to do away from La Quinta: (If you decide you leave the poolside!) Obviously spend time on Eagle Beach- It’s right across the street... it looks like one of those tropical screensavers, that’s how pretty it is! Baby Beach- You might get lucky and see some Sea Turtles! You have to drive through the town, which was cool to see the local part of Aruba and felt very safe. Go for a stroll down the beach walk- you can check out all the high rise all inclusives and really appreciate your quiet stay at La Quinta. (Cool to see though) or walk the other way and stop at The Beach Bar- the Lobster Roll and the sampler platter were delicious! Go downtown- if you’re looking for some small souvenir shops, that’s the place to go! Stop into Queens jewelry shop and check out their beautiful collections, friendly service, and great prices, you might even get to enjoy a Balashi while you look around! After a day of shopping, stop into Iguana Joe’s- the food was so good and the pink lemonade hit the spot! The Jolly Pirate- JUST DO IT! You won’t regret it! Stop at Che Bar- Across from The Hulk! Service was great, the empanadas were sooo good, and their happy hour goes all night! If you want fine dining- Aqua Grill is the place to go for anything seafood, AMAZING! Otherwise, go back to La Quinta and enjoy a great dinner at The Screaming Eagle! Lastly, if you have any questions, majority of the other visitors at La Quinta have been staying there for years if not decades! They love it there and I now know why. Ask them lots of questions! They’ll give you the ins and outs of everything Aruba and La Quinta. Also, don’t be discouraged by any construction happening, it’s all just an effort to make your future stay that much better! Enjoy- Bon Bini

La Quinta Resort is one of the best places to stay, if you are not looking for an all inclusive feel! You feel as one with the staff and guests! The staff is outstanding. At Kini Kini Bar right at the resort Rita and Xandra really get your day going with amazing food and of course the drinks. Danny and AB finish off the night with laughter and amazing food and great service. The pool is clean and refreshing! With plenty of chairs and sun chairs to warm up and get a tan! The rooms are so clean and up to date! Check out the observation deck just up a view flights of stairs its perfect for a good look of the ocean and the streets below. The view from our balcony was fantastic, with the beach only a minute walk away! Eagle Beach just right across the street its breath taking and a beautiful sight to see! We were welcomed as if we were locals. Downtown night life was spectacular! High rise was a walk but amazing to see all the bigger hotels and many restaurants and shops. The Screaming Eagle restaurant which right on the grounds of the resort was So good! With 44% off bottles of wine on Mondays! Jolly Pirates was a amazing excursion! The crew was friendly and outgoing. The snorkeling spots were perfect for beginners and advanced snorkelers and everyone in between. Aqua Grill Restaurant downtown by the High rise was phenomenal! Iguana Joe’s downtown near the docks was perfect for lunch, a must try is their Grandma’s pinkLemonade (trust me it’s not pink lemonade) 😉 Queens jewelry store right across the street from Iguana Joe’s had amazing staff and great!! prices!!! La Quinta Resort was just one of kind and I cannot wait to come back!!!! This will be the only place I will stay when I come to Aruba! Pardon the pictures. Took them the day we were leaving.
