My husband and I just got back from our honeymoon at Manchebo, and couldn't be more satisfied with our stay. From beginning to end, we were constantly in awe of how amazing, friendly, attentive, efficient and helpful every member of the staff was. From the concierges to the porters, to the wait staff and bartenders, the people are a huge contribution to our five star stay here. The resort itself is absolutely gorgeous, the landscaping is so beautiful and cohesive and the resort as a whole is well laid out and easy to navigate. For the short of it, Manchebo Beach Resort and Spa is 10 out of 10 on all fronts. I enjoyed that it was a smaller resort. While its not an adult only resort, we didn’t encounter many children on our stay. Its mostly young honeymooners, or couples on a quiet getaway. Its not a party resort, and while the drinks were always flowing, everyone was very respectful and no one bothered us. For the more in depth: We did the all-inclusive honeymoon package, which included champagne, fresh flowers, and chocolate covered strawberries on arrival, 1 hour massages at their on-site spa, romantic dinner on the beach, one dinner out at one of 4-5 restaurants, breakfast in bed, and either sunset cruise snorkeling. They delivered on everything included in the package. They made sure everything was scheduled and ready to go for our stay. Room-we did garden view. It was beautiful and quiet. We had a personal patio looking out onto palm trees and banana trees. We had iguana friends every day that came to our deck to hand. You really wont spend much time in your room as its an absolute paradise outside, but it was clean, well decorated and had everything we needed, down to a cooler for the beach. Our housekeeper Ana did an impeccable job of keeping our room fresh. Honeymoon package: Our massages at the spa del spa were so relaxing. They did wonderful job and the spa itself is gorgeous and open to air, which is a really nice touch. Our masseurs did an awesome job and hit all the problem areas and we left the spa feeling great! The sunset cruise was fun, but also quite a trek and we didn’t quite know what we were in for when it all started. It was through Red Sails and for the short of it, very fun, but wouldn’t recommend for anyone with mobility issue, kids or looking for a quiet evening cruise, as it turns into a bit of a party boat and the trip and boat are hard to maneuver around. Romantic dinner on the beach-This was an absolutely relaxing and beautiful. We were seated about 20 minutes before sunset and got to sip wine as the sun went down. There were 3 other tables having their romantic dinner, including a table with 2 couples that were vacationing together, so the food service was on the slower side, but we were just enjoying the whole ambiance and environment. Our server, Herrel, was busting his butt and did an awesome job given the situation. Breakfast in bed-10/10-same breakfast menu but brought to your door. We ate ours on the patio of our garden view room. Everything we had breakfast-wise was super solid and I would order each item again. Restaurants: Ike's( dinner)- probably our favorite. From food to ambiance, this one was one we wished we could have eaten at again. We sat poolside and with the breeze, amazing landscaping and pool...perfect. Also the best meal we had. Chophouse-this was our first meal. Super efficient and very decent. Not the best steak dinner that I've had, but we enjoyed our experience and the meal was super solid. Omakase- I would eat sushi every day if I could. We did the omakase "let chef decide" experience. Everything was absolutely delicious. I personally would have eaten there again and again, however it wasn't quite enough food for my husband, so we ordered and extra roll for him to snack on. Ikes(breakfast)- such a relaxing morning experience. We're early risers, so always were poolside watching the palm trees sway while sipping our coffee. Rachael was our server pretty much every day, including delivering our breakfast in bed. She was consistent and wonderful People/Special Shoutouts: Etienne was the first staff member we came across when we got out of our taxi. He was so incredibly happy and welcoming. He showed us around the resort on the way to our room and answered all our questions. He's genuine, funny and every time we saw him throughout our stay, always said hi and asked how our day was going. He always seemed truly happy to be there, always smiling and always friendly. The made us feel welcome and we looked forward to seeing him every day. Setchel was the concierge who checked us in. He was so friendly and welcoming on the day we arrived, and we saw him every afternoon and always got a smile and wave. He would check in to see how we were doing. He set the tone for our experience and from that moment on was a consistent friendly presence. Etoi-Etoi was our waiter at Omakase and at Ike's bistro for dinner. This guy was awesome. He was animated, funny, light-hearted and looked genuinely happy to be there. We were lucky and excited to have had him as our server for two nights in a row. Josuel-He was phenomenal. He was there every day of our stay while we were on the beach to take our order and make sure we had all the sustenance we needed for our time on the beach. He remembered us and our room number, even after only the first day. He was friendly and efficient. My husband and I were constantly in awe of how quickly he moves around the hot sand, given how much effort it takes. It was so nice to have another friendly face every day. …
