We recently stayed at the Divi Dutch Village through an RCI timeshare exchange. We were only there one night before checking into the Divi Phoenix for a week (where we had stayed before). We knew due to an email that Divi sent that we needed to check in at the Golf Resort and then be shuttled over to the Dutch Village. This was fine, but I believe added to the safety issues. We got to our room relatively easily and the view and accommodations were very good (it is older but they have done a good job updating the accommodations and the bathroom was great). While we were there I commented to my husband that I would easily stay there again. However the next morning everyone was checking out at the same time and waiting for the shuttles. The next comments were not confirmed but I believe them to be true. Unsolicited one woman told us to "be careful" when we moved properties. Then a gentleman checking out of the unit just above ours, told us that the room 2 doors down from us had been completely robbed the day before. He said they broke into their safe stole their passports, money, jewelry ransacked all their clothes, drawers etc. He said that all of his "tip" money was stolen from his room as well. We did not see any employees at the resort (and the lobby is closed and check in as mentioned above are happening at the golf village) I believe the invisibility of staff/security contributed to this issue. Our next issue is that we shuttled over to the golf village where we planned to store our luggage and go downtown until closer to check in at the Phoenix. We got to the golf village and were told their luggage storage was full. Additionally, there were approximately 20 people in line to either check in or check out. I went around the corner and asked if we could just leave since we had not charged anything to the room and they had my card on file. We were told only if we settled up the day before, this would have been nice to know at the time of check in, which we could have settled up at the same time since we were only there one day. We ended up leaving our luggage tagged in the lobby (which made us nervous) and were assured they would move it into the locker once room opened up. This did happen and we were very happy about that. So overall, we really loved the location and the accommodation but I would be very hesitant to stay there again given what happened two doors down from us and no communication from the resort about this issue.

We found the mini studio at Divi Dutch to be extremely small and had no view at all. The only window looked out into the entry way where people could look in. Could not open blinds so it was very dark. No elevator. If you don't purchase all inclusive package your dining options are very slim. The beach area is tiny. The resort is not near any action at all unless you want to golf which is not included. Also, there was a water leak in the closet.

Their customer service is horrible. I tried to get in contact with them to confirm a booking and all the agents continue transferring me and hanging up the phone just saying they were not able to find our booking. Also, at the arrival, they said our booking did not include breakfast when on our voucher clearly said Bed and breakfast included. They refuse to offer what we paid for. Horrible experience and terrible customer service.

This was our first time at the Dutch, and we were not disappointed. we stayed in room 54 which was a two level apartment, by the pool and near the beach and all amenities. It was cleaned and we did not have any issues with our stay. I would definitely stay there again!

Divi Dutch Village exceeded all expectations. I would say it’s the most quiet and intimate resort, compared to the Divi All Inclusive or Divi Tamarijn. If you are looking for a peaceful and homey vacation with the freedom of moving around Aruba on your own, while also having the option of an all-inclusive resort package, I would highly recommend. The Divi Dutch is perfectly located: 20min from the airport; 5min from Eagle Beach (a must visit); 8min from Palm Beach (very busy); 10min from Boca Catalina & Tres Tapi (great for snorkeling); 15min from Arashi Beach (windy but tranquil) ; 35min from Baby Beach (calm shallow waters). My husband and I stayed for two-weeks in the suite room with a fully equipped kitchen, very spacious and clean rooms. The air conditioning was great with full control over the temperature, the shower pressure was good, but the mattress was really too soft for our liking - even after they tried placing wooden boards underneath it was really not up to standard comfort. On the plus side, the wifi was great and there was a Ling & Sons grocery store 3-minutes away with everything you might need. As well as two beautiful beaches a few minutes away. Either the beach at Divi Tamarijn which was really nice, or the beach at Divi All Inclusive which in my opinion was better, with more beach chairs and a wider stretch of white sand. Be sure to ask to be near the Divi Tamarijn since you will be dining at their all-inclusive buffet. Lots of variety of foods for all tastes and diets. The best a-la-carte restaurants were Pure Lime and Red Parrot, which you need to reserve two-days ahead of time. Keep in mind that you have access to all amenities at the Divi Tamarijn (right next door) and the Divi All inclusive, either a nice 15-minute walk or a quick shuttle away. The only gym is at the Divi Tamarijn situated on the second floor with an awesome ocean view, with lots of free weights and large variety of cardio and weight machines. Shout out to Renay, over at the Divi Golf Resort who was incredibly humble and the most helpful manager. If ever you need anything, I’d definitely ask for him. TIP: Rent a car while in Aruba. The driving is relatively easy and you can move around the island on your own schedule. So many beaches to discover and visit. Furthermore, the Arikok Natural Park is worth a day of adventure. Lastly, the winds blow year round in Aruba but June is the windiest month, so keep that in mind.
