DO NOT STAY HERE! The biggest reason is because there is a late night dance club across the street that starts playing extremely loud bass thumping music around 9pm and it doesn’t stop until around 2am! We were at this hotel for a week and complained to the front desk each night begging them to do something about it so we could get some sleep. They say they have called the police each time on the noise but nothing was ever done about it and it made our hotel stay miserable. The hotel rooms themselves are very old and outdated and they make it seem in there pictures that the beach is literally in their back door but it is NOT! You have to cross a very busy highway and walk about two blocks to get to the beach closest to the hotel. Oh and our AC went out during the night and was out until the next night- It’s real hard to sleep between the room being almost 80 degrees and the rave party going on outside. There are literally hundreds of other places to stay besides this hotel- I promise you that you need to pick any of these places besides here

Hotel's Favorite
Great sevice. The entire staff is super friendly and attentive. My fee included daily breakfast and although the selection was not extensive, it was still pretty good. The hotel was well maintained and located accross the street from the beach. At night it could be noisy because of the location but I was still able to sleep pretty good.

The hotel itself is nice. The pool is great and the rooms are clean. However across the street is a noisy bar that stays open until the early morning hours. We did not get any sleep on this trip due to the constant music and motorcycles across the street. The location has to be the worst place for a hotel. Would not recommend if you would like to get a good nights rest.

Arrived a day early for our honeymoon and decided to stay here to experience a few amazing restaurants we heard about. Our room was really nice, clean, the staff was very friendly! Beautiful pool and the beach is across the street . Highly recommend this hotel for a day or weeks!

Not too spacious rooms but very modern and clean. Lovely pool area and a nice little beach only a couple of hundred meters away. Nice and friendly reception. A good place to stay if you want to explore Oranjestad. We stayed here during Covid and thus unfortunately the buffet breakfast was closed. Guests were given a voucher to eat breakfast at a beach restaurant opposite the street. A set and limited hotel breakfast is always a bummer but of course this was due to covid. A sometimes very loud and noisy bar opposite the hotel.

First let me say that after reading the reviews I was a little skeptical, but you must remember that a hotel is really designed to provide accommodations for travelers/tourists. That being said, Talk of the Town did just that!!! Unfortunately, the well mentioned Stanley was no longer working there, but he did a great job training the staff who replaced him as they were all friendly and pleasant (shout out to Rose who checked us in). The breakfast was good (my kids had seconds). The jacuzzi and pool were in order (jacuzzi came in handy after our day of tourism). The room was clean and free from bugs (big plus for me). Love the hotel grounds and the outside room seating. Took some pictures and enjoyed the sunset from the beach across the street. The hotel is less then 5 minutes from the airport, which allowed us to maximize our vacation time and lessen travel time. We enjoyed night walks to the Marketplace (approximately 20 minutes) where things seem to be jumping if you're looking for nightlife. It was easy to get a taxi and the ride to Eagle Beach and Palm Beach was around 10-15 minutes at about $17-$18 ($21-$23 on Sundays). Oh and lets talk about the bar across the street from the hotel.....we are a young family, so the loud music that was mentioned in other reviews was not a bother for us. It usually died down somewhere between 12:30am/1:00am - I was usually knocked out from the days activities by then. So I would say if you are old then maybe this is not the place for you - but the 55 and under crowd won't have a problem with it LOL. The only downer was that I requested and confirmed that we had adjoining rooms, however, when we arrived they were not adjoining so my husband and I had to sleep in separate rooms to accomodate/oversee the kids (but the rooms were next door to each other so it wasn't horrible). I would absolutely, without a doubt stay here again!!! Thank you TOTT for making our stay great!!!

The positives: Friendly staff, clean and comfortable rooms, nice pool area and rates that are a fraction of what you would pay at the bigger resorts. The negatives: It can be noisy at times because the hotel is near the runway and there’s a loud bar across the street. The beach across the street is nice — but it was the least-nice beach I saw on my trip. This was my first trip to Aruba. When I go back, I will probably spend a little more to stay at Eagle Beach, instead. But this is not a bad option. Just make sure you rent a car. You’ll need it to see the island and visit the other beaches. Driving on Aruba is easy and I never had a problem finding (free) street parking.

We received exceptional service at TOTT and truly appreciate the front desk, dining, and housekeeping staff that worked particularly hard to ensure our restful and enjoyable experience. From the time we arrived, we received warm and welcoming exchanges from the staff who provided recommendations to local venues, assisted with excursion reservations, provided shopping suggestions, exit testing tips, etc. The dining and kitchen staff kept the dining area neat, ensured the availability of proper safety equipment, enforced the use of personal protection equipment including masks when approaching the foods, and rotated the food often in moderate increments so we could safely partake in the breakfast buffet without worrying about contamination. Finally, the housekeeping staff left a profound impression by locating valuable items we incidentally left in the room when we departed. They along with the front desk personnel and management helped us reclaim personal items, and we are forever grateful to them. TOTT has become a favorite destination spot for my family and I, and we appreciate the inviting environment and dedicated staff that work to make the hotel feel like a home away from home. TOTT made our retreat a vacation!

The Talk of the Town staff was great, especially Stanley who went out of his way to help us with questions. Everything was very clean and in good working order. Surfside Beach was a quieter beach right across the street. It is not as big or as nice as some of the beaches but served it’s purpose a couple of days. There are some great restaurants right there in the beach too which was convenient. The only drawback to TOTT was the distance to the bus depot. Taxis expect payment in cash and aren’t cheap so we took the bus quite a bit since my kids are old enough to walk far distances. It would take us about 25 minutes to walk a quick pace to the depot. The Renaissance Mall was about 18 minutes away by foot. So, if you’re looking for a quieter get away spot, Talk of the Town is for you especially if you don’t mind a little stroll into downtown.

Room Tip: Bring more cash than you think you’ll need. I was surprised how many businesses only wanted cash....

Hospitality Observations: Stanley’s enthusiastic hospitality was a highlight of this trip! He was always offering a welcoming smile! The folks at the desk were always willing to help with scheduling taxis and calling businesses for us to ensure they were open and even helped to coordinate the delivery of a cake we had ordered from the Cupcake Garden when the bakery forgot that we were to pickup on a particular day! Facilities Observations: We had a few issues with the room (water from the air conditioner, a malfunctioning microwave and a curtain that fell from the rail) but all were worked quickly to resolution. The pool area is quite beautiful with ample locations to find shade. The hot tub could be hotter, but this just gets down to preference. Noise Observations: The hotel itself is located at a large rotary where there is lots of traffic though it is not too noisy. It is very close to the beginning of the airport airstrip and you can clearly hear planes firing their engines to take off. Also across the street is a bar area that plays music late into the night and many, many people seem to congregate. Many, many vehicles seemed to also have the habit of redlining their engines and burning out. It wasn’t entire intolerable and didn’t go entirely too late into the night, but a little unfortunate. That being said, it is also across the street from two beautiful restaurants that offer dining on the sand and on the pier - Barefoot and Pinchos, respectively. Location Observations: This location is away from the main tourist areas and the bus system is a must to not spend too much on taxis. A short walk to Renaissance Marketplace offers many good options for food including the Dutch Pancake house which is very very popular for breakfast. Expect to wait a half hour or so but it’s worth the wait. Just a bit further past the Marketplace is the Bus Station - a central stop for the bus system which is - admittedly quite hard to figure out at first. The small white vans are buses and if they’re driving past you will flash lights to ask if you want a pickup - flag them and they’ll stop. At the bus station, they’ll be standing and you can ask any of the drivers to help you figure out which one to get into to go where you’re trying to go. The beautiful sunsets directly across the street were such an amazing treat. The long, thin beaches across the street have beautiful trees right on the water which provide shade. If you’re looking for a stereotypical beach, they are a short walk/bus or taxi away. We found several excursions, including snorkeling that was booked through the folks at the desk, that picked us up at the hotel and dropped us back off for no additional charge. Highly recommended to save money. Conclusion: All in all, I’d stay here again mainly and especially due to the hospitality and considering that the location is not super inaccessible - especially now that I understand the bus system better nearing the end of my trip. It would have been nice to have more options for food or beaches within just a few minutes’ walk, but then you’d have to contest with more tourists.
