I booked this hotel for my honeymoon for 4 nights. Used to Marriott standards, the price and the famous of the hotel was -for me- a guarantee of quality. At the end, almost everything was a disappointment. First, I booked an island view. When I arrived and opened my curtains, all I can saw is the parking. Without trying to understand, the front desk told me « it’s normal, it’s an island view » Sorry but no. It’s my honeymoon and what I can see from the first floor where you put me is all the cars on the parking, not the island. I didn’t know only the ocean view was « worth it ». Then, the room is really sad. Not even beautiful or well-decorated. It is small and soulless. Probably one of the worst Suite I ever stayed. Not even sure the cleaning was really done before our arrival because the former customers left women flip flop on a chair, and nobody saw it. Moreover, when you’re in a Marriott Hotel, when you’re in a Suite and especially when you paid more than 1 700$ for only four nights, you expect -at least- having free bottle of water. But no, you’ll have to pay 4$50 for each. Go on a grocery store, it will be less expensive. I will try to remember the breakfast and its kind staff. And also the private island. Because, honestly, the only reason why you would stay at this hotel is to go to the Renaissance private island. No other reasons whatsoever. At the end, it’s better to just pay the access to the island for one day and stay somewhere else.

It is still one of our most favorite places to go, Aruba. We’ve probably been there 20 + times. I came to this site today to acknowledge John Luis our shuttle attaché between the resort and hotel. Each time we rode with him this past week, we learned more about the island and its restaurants. He really takes an interest in his job, an interest in the island, and wanted feedback after we visited spots on the island. He knew about every restaurant we asked him about. Who is this guy? Maybe he should be writing restaurant reviews. I am assured upon arrival by the men greeting us to take our luggage that yes, we made the right decision to come again to the Renaissance Resort. They are a reminder that the residents of the island are amazing people working everyday to support themselves and/or families. All the staff at the Renaissance are doing a great job and deserve recognition. The young lady at the front desk (who’s name skips me right now) was happy to help me with a computer issue, and invited me to come back if I needed more help. She was amazing and smart. Ziggy who feels like part of the family (because he is now), was there to greet us. Saina was amazing as our house keeper. She was responsive to our every request and anticipated our every need. It was a pleasure to join in entertainment with Marcia who has been our historically excellent aqua aerobics instructor. We missed the daily class that offset our more than adequate diet. We did enjoy and participated in bingo and hope this too will be a daily part of entertainment. Yes, Renaissance, you ROCK because the people working there are the best!

The entire resort and staff were amazing! But, this review is specifically for Hildomar at the Cabanas! Philip and I spent our last day in the end Cabana with the waterslide! Hildomar was our butler and he was incredible! He went above and beyond to help us feel comfortable, relaxed, and making sure we had everything we needed/wanted. So much space to spread out abd lounge around. Fantastic food abd drinks. Hildomar even lent us his speaker for the day! It was the perfect way to spend our last day.

We stayed seven days and did the all inclusive. It was phenomenal. Everyone was so nice and attentive. The food and drinks were great. Our favorite part of our whole trip was getting a cabana at Flamingo Island and Robert. Robert was phenomenal, he made the day perfect for us. He was so attentive and friendly.

Stayed for 6 nights with the all inclusive package. Whether we stayed at the hotel to enjoy the pool and lagoon, or went to the private island everything was relaxing and the service was great. I want to highlight Rudmar Paesch and Jacques Midi from the sole bar for their exceptional service. Both of them went above and beyond to form a relationship with not only us but all of the guests, and they both have great energy and the best attitudes! I also want to mention John the greeter for going out of his way to make sure everyone is taken care of and looked after at all times, he’s extremely attentive and kind.

The rooms are excellent, however, the staff is what really makes it! We had a great trip and a few special people really elevated our experience. Firstly, the greeter, John, made sure we would get on our bus after several miscommunications with an excursion. He told us exactly where to go and even took us there on the golf cart. Second, Rudmar paesch, a bartender at the Sole bar, who really made sure we had an excellent trip every single night. He always made sure our drinks were full and added great conversation throughout the nights! Additionally, Jacques midi, another great bartender at the Sole bar, continued to give us great service throughout our stay as well! They both have a great sense of humor and make the best drinks. Our trip wouldn’t have been the same without those guys!

Honestly the only reason why you would stay at this hotel is to go to the Renaissance private island. No other reasons whatsoever. The rooms are tiny compared to other property on the island. Nothing much to do downtown other than casino and shopping. The main beach and going out area are by palm beach. Things are way overpriced downtown. Staff are not as friendly as the other hotel I stayed. I’d recommend just buy the day pass to Renaissance island instead.

We stayed 9/8-9/12 and loved ALMOST everything during our stay. The hotel itself is beautiful and really clean! The photos don't do it justice. The welcome drink, the staff and lunch really exceeded our expectations on our check in day. although the line was long it went quick and a pleasant wait. Ebony and Pedro on the adult side and Donovan at the island were all great! the room was great even though as gold members we were put in an interior facing room. Good housekeeping. Loved the party vibe on the adult side, but we visited the other end and it was fantastic too. The private island was amazing! the cabana rental is totally worth it. We snorkeled outside of the rocked in area and went to a shipwreck about 40 feet out. My ONLY complaint is the seafood buffet dinner at Aquarius. We paid $150 for two and the lobster and most other items were severely overcooked, to the point that they were inedible. The lobster meat was dark brown, mussels were hard and chewy and the size of a nickel.. It seemed like they were three days old and just warmed up over and over. I wouldn't eat it for $15, let alone $60 per person.. The waitress was nice but when we told her it was bad, she just smiled. Other couples we met had complained about it too, so it wasn't a one time situation. The breakfast there on the other hand was fantastic!
