We had an amazing time interacting with Caesar the doorman. He was always nice and engaging. Always asking how our day was going and offering suggestions to what we planned to to that day. If it was getting us a taxi or calling up the shuttle to bring us between the marina view or the ocean view he was GREAT!

We stayed at the Adult only (Marina side) on the all inclusive package We Booked with TUI from the UK and they were terrible but that’s for another review Checking in at the hotel was a hot and long affair, we took the group bus from the airport (big mistake) Top tip… pay for a Taxi (about $25)You get to the resort first and avoid the hoards from the bus all trying to check in at same time During our wait for check in I would have liked a welcome drink or cold towels (would be a nice touch) especially after a 9 hours flight but used the time to have a quick look around and I liked the Vibe. The reception is just across from the pool and bar the DJ was banging some tunes out, he must be good as he only had one ear phone on one side. Staff were great, very helpful and friendly, all staff seemed to genuinely enjoy working at the hotel which was a bonus, and would always go the extra mile Can’t complain about the food, LG steakhouse was terrific and Jean was attentive. Frescos was lovely for breakfast & dinner and Paulo was very funny Alcoholic Drinks are non branded style but free poured (very strong) and mixed into tasty cocktails, Smoothies and crushed ice drinks The gym was clean and basic but did the job if you were feeling guilty I liked the location by the Marina, and the sister hotel was only a 10 minute walk away. They have a lovely pool and sea lagoon to swim in There’s live DJs at both resorts after 4pm by the pool The marina side has a more adult theme at night Starbucks is on-site at the marina side but not part of all inclusive just in case you were hoping We also ventured up the coast a bit and we found Eagle beach end Palm beach (10 & 15 mins away by taxi) very busy and high rise about $20 to $25 for a taxi I preferred where we were Main Improvement points for hotel Our standard room had paper thin walls, and we could hear people talking and loud TV noise throughout the night. Welcome drink and quicker check in would be nice for new arrivals. Top tips Book LG steakhouse in advance unless you like eating at 10pm Goto Frescos for Breakfast and green some towels & poolside recliners before you sit down if you dislike airport noise, don’t book the ocean suites We couldn’t hear the airplanes from the Marina side but the sister hotel is more or less alongside the runway, so take off is particularly loud! You get the Same problem on the private island for the flamingos and iguanas they are joined by a selection of Boeings every 30 mins In Summary I liked the resorts and the hotel in general, they have a lot of USA flights coming in and we met a lot of friendly Americans Massive Instagram perfect pic culture with the hotel guests We loved watching the fake poses by the ladies and the loyal partners taking 20 photos only to be sent back to do more! I blame Instagram! The Flamingos are beautiful from any angle, and I loved the iguanas shuffle around Great for people watching & nature watching Special mention for Mark on Pool Bar duty for looking after us so well in the boiling sun

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon. We didn't want to leave to come home! It was that perfect. We had the most amazing stay, all thanks to Natalie and all the other wonderful employees there. Our bed was very comfortable. We highly recommend renting out a private cabana! Our cabana day on the beautiful private island was one of the best days of our lives. We could have just stayed there forever. Everyone was so nice and accommodating. We also recommend Dinner under the stars. It was such an amazing experience on the beach. The food at the Renaissance was also so delicious (we especially loved the sushi). If you're looking for the perfect place to stay in Aruba, look no further!

We had a wonderful stay at the Renaissance Ocean Suites. Everyone was very attentive specially our room attendants, Katherine and Laurente, were very helpful and friendly. They did a nice job. Everytime we needed assistance they were there to help. Also Marcia, the Bingo attendant, and Valerie from front desk were very attentive and helpful. We had a great time on the island. The boys at the rental equipment there were very nice and attentive. I have been coming to this resort since 2004 and we are always looking forward every year to come back.

Not what it used to be! We started our stay here waiting over an hour to check in. By then our toddler was having a full blown melt down after standing in the very hot open air lobby for so long. When we finally made it to our room we were welcomed by ridiculously loud construction noise that you have to shout over and paint fumes. This goes on seven days a week from early morning until 6pm. We are currently staying in one of the renovated rooms. The cheap material they used to cover the door is bubbling, room numbers falling off the wall, paint chipping and scratched everywhere it’s been touched, no outlets anywhere convenient, bathroom countertops chipped, refrigerator door that won’t stay closed, all light switches are outside of the rooms, cheap old nasty coffee makers, old stove top that doesn’t even get hot enough to boil water, absolutely blinding lighting and by far the absolute worst “new” furniture I have ever sat on. It’s hard as a rock and the couch doesn’t even have arms. You have to open an entire wall of a solid curtain to get to the patio. It does not open in the middle. Your only option is to blind everyone in the living room which also puts a glare on the tv. The new tvs are also straight trash. The picture quality looks like WW2 footage at best. The pull out bed is literally from Walmart and sure feels like it too. The couch also sinks in the middle. There is no where to store clothes as the only tiny space provided is taken up by the two huge robes they want you to buy. There is nowhere else to store them. The drawers in the furniture all stick and the safe isn’t even bolted down. You can actually pick it up and we thought about just taking it down to the front desk so we had a drawer to use. The “private island” is constantly hosting private events and has areas reserved leaving very little for the actual guests. In addition to this anyone can pay to go so it’s definitely not private. There is hardly any parking available either. I highly doubt we will ever come back here. If you can I’d recommend asking for a room that has not been renovated. They are leaps and bounds better and certainly better looking. The new design leaves a lot to be desired.

ACCOMMODATION: The Renaissance Ocean Side which included breakfast. Lovely hotel, enjoyed the breakfasts especially the French toast on the island. Our room was OK, initially I was disappointed when I walked in, our living space was given up entirely to sofa beds for my teens. Our view was the car park & the balcony was very small. We barely spent anytime in there though as obviously we want to see Aruba & explore but it would’ve been so much nicer if the family suite was not sofa beds in the lounge with a happier view. Service for breakfast was great. Special mention to Rachel, Liliana & . Santusha. One of my favourite parts of the day was sitting at Fresco with a filter coffee looking out to the sea. I loved the breakfast on the island aswell. The French toast on the island is divine & the pastries & fruit is all so yum. If you don’t like birds you may not like eating outside as they are always hoping to steal some food but I love birds so it never bothered me. I ended up taking wipes down with me just to clean the chair as a couple of times I ended up with bird poo on my clothes. The waitresses do try & wipe them down. Cost from UK for flights, hotel with breakfast was £8560. I would recommend it but I wouldn’t go again because I could get a larger room with a gorgeous view for less money but it was the pull of the private island and the flamingos that got me. Since booking I discovered the flamingos have their wings clipped & had I have known this I wouldn’t have booked the Ren. I was pretty upset to learn this & definitely tarnished how I felt. I feel absolutely certain the flamingos would not hesitate to fly away from the constant selfies they are subjected to 12 hrs a day 365 days of the year. I personally hate animals being used for humans to profit from & plea with the owners of the hotel to re address this. Aside from that, I always looked forward to the water taxi to the island. Glad I didn’t fork out for a private cabana though - not necessary for the cost in my opinion. Although they did look lovely but I was very happy with the sunbeds on the beach. 🦩🦎 The hotel was very clean and I would like to send my thanks to the cleaners of our room who always did a splendid job. Our neighbours at the hotel were a group of young women, we could hear everything they said, we heard them laughing, crying, shrieking, we could smell the room service they ordered, for 3 nights in a row we called down to reception about the noise and they did respond immediately & the girls did then quieten down. I also sent an email at about 1am one night to the hotel but never received a response. Not the ideal next door neighbours when you are a family in the family side of the complex. We were all tired for several days due to disrupted & lack of sleep. We didn’t ever use the pool but it looked very nice. A pizza at the island start at approx $17, a cocktail approx $11. You can grab towels at the island & lilos. You can always grab a taxi from outside the hotel which is handy. It is $13 from The Ren to Palm Beach.

We spent a week in the Ocean Suites as a family of four with two teenage girls, age 16 and 18. The pool area is beautiful and relaxing, and we loved the daily Happy Hour with a DJ and half-price cocktails. We appreciated the proximity to the Renaissance Marketplace and the many restaurants to choose from. Our favorites were the Dutch Pancake House (worth every minute standing in line for) for breakfast and Haagen Daz for dessert. We ate at the pool for lunch and the food was good, but you’re definitely paying for the convenience over quality. We visited Renaissance Island twice, and the flamingos were everything we hoped they would be. We found that we liked the space and food choices on the Iguana side of the island much better, and I wish someone had told me to just start there and go over to the flamingo side for photos. It’s much more relaxing that way. The room was fine, but smelled slightly musty and the sofa was pretty worn. I’m sure it will be better after the renovation.

Renaissance is a great all inclusive option! The all inclusive option was offered to us due to being an AAA member. The Renaissance Wind Creek is an adult resort; although there were a few families with children. With the all inclusive there are several restaurant options that you can choose from both this resort and Renaissance Ocean Suites which is about a half mile walk down. Renaissance is centrally located by the Marketplace, 15 minute taxi ride from airport ($22 trip) and a $15 taxi ride to the High Rise tourist area. The staff was attentive and provided a great customer experience. The hotel is located within the Renaissance Mall where there is high end shopping for those that are interested; Gucci, LV, Dolce & Gabbana, Ralph Lauren as well as small boutiques and souvenir shops behind the hotel. We walked over to Frescos to have breakfast; it was okay. We really enjoyed the L. G. Smith Steakhouse; despite my husband being vegetarian there were still options for him. This restaurant is included in the all inclusive package as well. Our room was large in size, we had an ocean view, and the room came with a small fridge. The room provided ample enough space for the two of us. There is a Starbucks located in the lobby. There is a boat that will take you to the Flamingo and Iguana islands. We would definitely stay here again. Great location, clean, extremely safe and staff was friendly! There are navigators that are more than willing to assist you with planning adventures and excursions on the island. They were extremely helpful.
