Renaissance Review We stayed at the Renaissance for Spring Break of 2021 for 7 days. We got to see a lot during the stay. The resort itself is clean. A mixture of excellent staff and others that were on cloud 9 and we had to repeat ourselves multiple times to. Not a lot to do at the resort for kids. The food was alright, expensive and not excellent quality. However, Aquarius restaurant was fabulous. Especially Juanita and Juan. The staff at Aquarius was phenomenal. Rosalba at Fresco was phenomenal and so was the light eyed girl at concierge desk & the dark skinned Aruban Girl waitress with the braids, at night shift, over by the pool area (wish I had their name to give a shout out.) They deserve to be recognized. Coming from a sales background I can’t stress how important it is to go on vacation and receive excellent customer service. I am sure a lot of folks can relate to this statement. However, what bothered my family the most. The resort charged us ( in different occasions) the same bill 2x. For example, at check in we paid for 6 days breakfast included. We had a huge issue at the Iguana island. We rented out the cabana for the day and at check out, they charged us for the breakfast which was already paid for at check in. We did not notice at the time of Cabana payment that they double charged us. It was a mission to get this resolved. Nonetheless, the “manager at island” named Reggie had a horrible personality and was not accommodating. He gave me such a really hard time, i can’t even express how horrible he mad me feel. To add, I spent hours waiting for him to help me with the dispute, this was even after speaking to multiple staff about this same issue. Front desk, concierge at main hotel couldn’t help. They literally made me take a day to go back to the island to directly speak to this Reggie guy who isn’t even the main guy at the island. It was so stressful to deal with this during vacation. Then, a week after I returned home. I got more money deducted off my CC. So I reached out to see what the bill was about and they charged me for breakfast for 4-10 when apparently Reggie had given us the credit. I can care less if I am rich or not, I take care of my money and am not going to double pay a huge resort. I much rather leave that money as tip to those who deserve it. I am very upset and suggest that if you visit Renaissance Resort, you keep track of every bill you pay for and keep receipts. Also, the bills include service charge which is “tip.” And that tip is shared between all the staff in the resort. Additional tip you leave behind goes directly towards that employee that served you. I spend so much money on tips and feel good that I did so. However, to be double charged for stupid little things and give me a hard time rewarding it from one day to another is pathetic. There needs to be more flexibility by management to allow the staff to accommodate to its guests requests. Beware people so that you don’t get DOUBLE CHARGED!…
We stayed at the Renaissance this past week and had an AMAZING experience. Not only was it beautiful and clean, but the staff was amazing as well. The hotel was great about enforcing Covid 19 safety guidelines. On another note, Carmen was an an AMAZING waitress out by the pool. She was so personable, and always made sure we had what we needed as well as ensuring the safety of herself as well as all guests around us while waiting on several tables. She was so kind, and ALWAYS remembered not only our names, but what we preferred for drinks. She also made several GREAT suggestions when we wanted to switch things up. This was my first time at this property, but I will DEFINITELY be back to stay again! I highly recommend.....
My sister-in-law and I stayed on the “adult” side for one night and then the “family” side for 5 nights. The family side is SO much better. The pool is bigger (there are 2) and it has a swim up bar. Carmen and William who work the bar were AMAZING! So attentive to us. They welcomed us every day by our first names and knew exactly what we were drinking without even asking. They truly made us feel like family! Not to mention they constantly checked in on us to see if we needed more drinks or food - it was like 5 star service. The private island is gorgeous! The service on the island wasn’t as good - had to wave down servers constantly to ask for more drinks or food. They just didn’t have enough servers for the amount of people on the island. But the island is such a beautiful experience it didn’t matter. I highly recommend this hotel!…
Our first time to Aruba and could not have picked a better place to enjoy the island from. Rooms clean, service great, pools perfect and the staff was superb. Great restaurants nearby including Barefoot, Pinchos ad Yemanja and of course the hotel's L.G. Smith's Steak and Chop. Easy travel and access to any adventure you would want to take on the island. A special shout out to the following staff members, Carmen Chavez, Cesar, Bladimir, Juney, Eteluina and Jean. And, the pool bar staff. You all were the best! Was a great place to celebrate our 40th Wedding Anniversary.
Had a wonderful time. Met fun awesome employees of the Renaissance Aruba Resort and Casino. Shout out to Brishelle Growell, full of fun Moutzon Suarez in housekeeping, room was exceptionally clean, and Carmen Chavez, exceptional customer service. Thank all three for providing outstanding service, and a fun memorable time.
