Our second visit to south point - our first being in 2018 - and the visit was everything we wished for and more The location in Falmouth Harbour is just stunning and this boutique hotel is simply lovely The staff couldn’t be more helpful and welcoming Our room was a 1 bed suite on the ground floor - and more like a stylish apartment than room and everything needed for a perfect stay Would recommend in a heartbeat
My husband and I stayed here for three nights and really enjoyed it. We stayed in a one bedroom suite which was large with a very comfortable bed and a lovely large terrace. The room had a fabulous view overlooking the superyachts in the harbour. The hotel is very clean and the staff are fabulous. It is a very easy place to stay as everything works and each room has a kitchen and large bathroom , so you almost feel like you are in your own apartment. The restaurant is very good and the pool, although small, is well looked after. Like most places in English Harbour it is a ten minute walk to the beach or a two minute cab ride, but the hotel is within walking distance of the shops and restaurants, diving centre and boat hire. This is a very good four star boutique hotel which I would have given five stars (as a boutique hotel rather than ultimate luxury) too except we were kept awake two nights by a very loud night club nearby. We had a room nearest to the club, so ask for one further away.…
A fabulous hotel – a really large and stylish room with massive bed , fully functioning kitchen and living room and a beautiful Veranda. The staff are incredibly helpful and one of the highlights is a top-class restaurant where they do really good sushi. Watching the sunset from the restaurant or the swimming pool is a particular highlight. Pigeon point beach it’s a short walk away and one of the best beaches in the Caribbean – you should not miss the wonderful bar and restaurant on the beach where you can have fresh fish and a lovely rum punch. I highly recommend this hotel.
I had two excellent meals at Maia over the course of a week. The setting is wonderful and serves as the perfect backdrop for delicious food and yummy cocktails. I was a fan of the sushi - which I didn’t expect to be so good on an island in the Caribbean! The staff are friendly and attentive and I would highly recommend.
Stayed here for 7 nights and can thoroughly recommend it. It is close to some great restaurants but the restaurant in the hotel is also worth visiting. The setting is beautiful but what makes it has to be the staff who cant do enough to make your stay so memorable.
We came here for a one night stay to escape an all inclusive resort we had been staying at but had been unimpressed from the poor service and food choices. In desperation, I looked for somewhere we could escape to for the night and wow, so glad I found this place! This boutique style hotel has everything you need. Our pool/ beach front room is modern and spacious, the pool is tranquil and gorgeous and the harbour views and surroundings are serene. We had a lovely dinner in the restaurant with a fabulous meal and great drinks menu - and enjoyed the mini bar on offer! It’s the perfect balance of privacy without total isolation and the service is great - a welcome change from where we had been! I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this place, a great little haven in a beautiful spot. Ideal for just chilling out and peace and quiet, a great find!…
We booked Maia restaurant at the South Point Hotel in English harbour and it did not disappoint. We were shown to our waterside table and promptly served our drinks. I had an expresso martini which was amazing. We decided to have sushi to start. We have always been unsure of this cuisine so asked the waitress for help, told her what we liked and she did the rest. We have been converted and now love sushi. The mains were amazing, I had the lobster which was unbelievable and fully prepared so no fiddling around and hubby had the steak. Accompanied by a very good bottle of Pino noir all in all a fantastic evening. It’s a little pricey but so worth it. Great service, amazing food and lovely ambiance as we ate with the exceptional 2 piece band singing in the background. We loved it so much we have booked it again before we leave Antigua.…
The good: - lovely rooms, comfortable beds, modern and clean - terraces are great with a view of the harbour and boats - rooms cleaned every day with very friendly cleaning staff - minibar stocked and the kitchen is good - being right in the harbour is great with lots of restaurants and shops within walking distance - breakfast is especially good with smoked salmon and a good choice of a la carte items to select from - breakfast overlooking the harbour is a treat and very enjoyable - the waitress is lovely even though service is a little less attentive at times No so good: - lighting is poor in the rooms, trendy I guess, but frustrating for putting on makeup - no dressing table, had to use my own mirror and sit outside - no baths, but a very good hot shower - if you open the window shutters for light you find no glass just a screen so the heat comes in so you have to leave them shut - the terrace doors have no screen so you have to keep them closed as the mosquitos get in and you really get bitten at night - the staff don’t embrace customer service at a level you would expect which is disappointing and upsetting at times. They put on loud music some evenings and disturb their hotel guests. I checked and it was for the staff as there were only a few people in the restaurant. - staff don’t wear their face masks all the time. - Late check out meant I had to ask again on the morning and I didn’t as I was there for an hour having breakfast but they didn’t say anything. Making it my job to ask rather than their job to inform me. Made to get out of the room and while I was trying to shower and pack they turned the water off. Then said it was $150 usd to stay beyond 4pm. Understandable but if you are forced to leave your room and pack, what’s the point really. Made a point of saying it was my fault for not re-asking for late check out on the day. I was stressed out by their lack of customer care. Be warned: - we got bitten by mosquitoes while sleeping the first night as we didn’t know they were inside. You have to spray and put the candles on.…
We really enjoyed our week at South Point. We had a great first floor room overlooking the marina where we could see all the activity especially as boats were being prepared for the annual 600mile yacht race. The large balcony had comfy loungers as well as a dining table and chairs. Everything was spotlessly clean and was well serviced during our stay. There was a fully functional kitchen too. Tiny beach but nice quiet pool area. All the staff were really nice. The only very small gripe was that the lighting in the room was not well designed and the choice of TV programmes was abysmal
Very pleasant hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. The room was very comfortable and very well equipped. Only slight criticism is there is no glass in some of the windows just Venetian type shutters. The crickets outside are very noisy at night and glass in the windows might reduce this noise in the room.
