Return visit to this beautiful hotel
We have just returned from a 12 night stay at Blue Waters Resort and Spa, our second visit to this wonderful hotel. Blue Waters was just as special and as beautiful as we remembered. The resort is exceptionally clean and well maintained and the food in the Palm and Cove restaurants was superb and so were the cocktails! We really appreciated the fast-track service on arrival, the taxi pick up and being greeted by Nicole with drinks and cold towels. We are a family of 4 and stayed in a 3 bedroom Cove Penthouse on an all-inclusive basis. The Penthouse was very spacious, well equipped and bright and modern with a huge balcony with breath-taking views of the ocean. It had the use of a shared pool which we very much enjoyed each afternoon. We loved the fact that you do not have to rush down in the morning to get a sun bed, this resort never feels busy and there are always plenty of free beds by the pool and beach. We very much enjoyed the service at Veronicas bar, and having our morning daily cocktails served to us on the beach. Nicole, was our concierge for the duration of our stay and she couldn’t have been more helpful. She took care of absolutely everything for us, booking restaurants, ensuring my youngest daughter who is a very fussy vegetarian was taken care of, and ensuring our fridge was restocked daily. She also made the booking of our boat trip before our arrival. The highlight of our holiday was a trip on the hotel’s newly acquired boat. We booked a 4 hour private charter and Owen, our Captain, was great company and made our day extremely memorable, nothing was too much trouble for him. The hotel packed us up a delicious lunch and put drinks on board. We swam at deserted beaches and enjoyed snorkelling at one of these beaches and on a lovely clear reef. What really makes this hotel so special are all the wonderful staff, far too many to mention individually. The staff in the restaurants get to know you by name, and know which drinks you will be ordering and you are always greeted with a smile. Kevin, the General Manager is always visible around the resort, chatting with guests and at times even showing people to their tables in the restaurants and helping move sun umbrellas! When we left Nicole and Kevin were there to see us off. We were all very sad to be leaving Blue Waters but we know that one day we will return to this incredible hotel.
Dear JoJoClaireD, Thank you for taking the time to leave such a lovely review! It is always a pleasure to read the kind feedback our guests share with us, and we are extremely grateful that you chose to return to Blue Waters Resort for a second visit! We are very happy to hear that your family found our Cove Penthouse to be spacious, and that you were able to comfortably unwind and enjoy the views and pool. As a team, it brings us great pride to have our service, food, and of course, members of our team commended. We go above and beyond for our guests, to be remembered in such a pleasant light is the highest praise – thank you! We hope to welcome you again soon for your 3rd visit, until then, safe travels and best wishes to you and your family! Kind regards, Kevin, General Manager

    An Excellent Sunshine Resort
Blue Waters has built its reputation over many years and like all the ‘best’ experiences the difference is the people. With 75% of the economy built on tourism, the government and education system have a strong focus on tourists and at Blue Water this is made very real. From the owners through management, team leaders, supervisors and whether front of house or behind the scenes everyone is focussed on helping you to have a great vacation. We could name at least a dozen of the employees who learned our names, room details, drinks preferences and daily routine. (Fear not – you feel valued not stalked!) We won’t name them (you know who you are) because there would be another dozen who knew us where we failed to recall their names and because there are many more whom we didn’t meet who helped to make our holiday. These include the cleaning staff, the maintenance crew, the man dabbing quick drying paint onto any areas needing attention on a daily basis. The gardeners and grounds staff who work year-round to keep the gardens healthy and safe. Oh, and the gardens looking amazing. The pool attendants. The chefs and cooks – the food is as good as you will eat anywhere in the world with lots of choice and variety. Singles, couples and families with children of all ages are well looked after and the space and choice mean you can be as sociable or private as you choose. Accommodation all appears to of a high standard and the choice is between a room with balcony near the main activity areas or a little further out in larger villa style accommodation. As mentioned above food is exceptional with international and Caribbean options and a wide selection at all restaurants. Beverages are available at both the pool bars during the day and the main bar in the evening. A wider selection of non-alcoholic options/cocktails on the drinks menu would be appreciated. Plenty of entertainment and activities are available mostly at no extra cost. Gym is cool and well equipped. Gardens are stunning and grounds well kept. As are the indoor areas. We only had one issue arise and that was solved swiftly and practically to our satisfaction. It would be hard not to have an enjoyable holiday here.
Dear Duncal, We are delighted to have host you once again at Blue Waters, your loyal patronage is what keeps our team in high spirits, seeing familiar faces return year after year. You have truly captured the true charm of the resort in your feedback and we are very proud of this as we have grown over the years. The resort continues to appeal to a wide range of guests and we are more than happy to adapt in catering towards everyone's needs. Again, we thank you for sharing your thoughts and we hope to see you again soon. Regards, Kevin

    What an amazing place!
I have just got home from 12 nights at this little piece of paradise. I feel very privileged to have managed to get away this year and of all my prebooked holidays this was the only one not cancelled or moved. The island is lovely and this little oasis was a great place to come. Obviously lots has had to change as they learn to live with Covid (like the rest of the world) but the staff are so super friendly and keen to do the right thing and so learn quickly. The restaurants were rotating each night as the guest numbers increased and staff numbers grew but we were never short of choice and I have to say the food was incredible. None of us had a bad meal throughout our stay. The waiting staff were attentive and so lovely! The bar staff were great wherever you were and with drinks delivered to my sun bed throughout the day, what’s not to love! We were a group of 9 but this never really challenged them. We were lucky enough to be in the cove suites - huge rooms with loads of space and a patio leading straight out to our private pool area - if that wasn’t good enough there are another 3 pools you can wander to plus of course the white Sandy beaches and crystal clear waters. You can even cadge a lift on a golf buggy if you’re too hot to walk! Occupancy started to go up as our trip went on but the hotel coped well and most importantly the staff were brilliant and wearing masks throughout the resort and on the whole so were the guests. Towels provided for the beach and exchanged every day and all toiletries provided plus a never ending mini bar in the room which is topped up daily for free within the all inclusive package. We also attended a rum tasting evenings and a wine tasting evening - both great fun! Had the best time and will definitely be returning !
Dear NikkiR270, We really appreciate this lovely review. Thank you for having highlighted our Cove Suites, our swimming pools, recently added lounger food and beverage service and our guest activities. It’s our aim above all to ensure that our guests are safe and relaxed during their holidays. And, as you pointed out, we seek to continually learn and exceed your expectations. Our teams are so happy to have been mentioned for their service and for their efforts in making your stay memorable. It’s their dedication for their work that keep guests coming back to Blue Waters again and again. We’re so glad you enjoyed your stay experience with us and can’t wait to have you back. Regards, Kevin. Phillips

We chose the Blue Waters for our 30th Wedding Anniversary celebrations based on its reputation as one of the most luxurious fully inclusive resorts in Antigua. We were not disappointed!! We had the most amazing 10 day experience with the Blue waters team which included our wedding vow renewal (shout out to Mandie our celebrant) followed by the best wedding party and dinner celebration we could ever have hoped for, all orchestrated by our amizing concierge, Nicole and Mandie. The accomodation in the Cove Villa, the exquisite food, the service and all the staff throughout our 10 day stay were simply first class all round, and surpassed all our expectaions by 10 fold. Shout outs to Javier, Keva, Ann-Marie, Rachel, Quincy, Stephen and many, many more of the staff for making our experience so special. Nicole also helped us organize a catamaran snorkelling trip to a nearby coral reef and we watched the sun go down whilst sailing across the crystal blue Caribbean sea - another unforgettable memory from our vacation. We will definately return to Blue Waters and sample its delights in the very near future as its simply the closest experience we have had to paradise...

The staff were the best I’ve ever experienced at any sort of resort. The views were incredible and the cove suits really tied it all together. The vow renewal ceremony I was a part of was expertly ran and we couldn’t of hoped for a better day. The food was brilliant as well and their selection of cocktails (both Caribbean and classic) were the best I’ve ever tasted.

I spent a week at the Blue Waters resort and it was just wonderful. It was supposedly off season but the weather was perfect, no rain at all. The staff is remarkably friendly and easy to communicate with. The beach is gorgeous. My room overlooked the ocean but I think they all do, which is a great bonus. I went out on my balcony every morning first thing and took in the sea view. The owner Gary Randall has done a lot to make sure the vibe is right: relaxing, unpretentious, but still quite refined. I did the rum tasting which was really fun, which you have to book in advance. Also had a high quality massage at the spa, which is modern and lovely, with its own private pool. And if you’ve got things you want to do off resort, they really help you figure it all out. It just hits all the right notes. Highly recommend.

We stayed at Bluewaters during August having stayed there several times before. The Service , Food Holiday experience exceeded all expectations. We stayed in the spacious Cove Suites which have their own pool and drinks service during the day. We have been to other Resorts on this beautiful Island and believe Blue Waters is head and shoulders above them all. The ONLY negative is the WiFi which made working from there very difficult. We plan to go back later this year Special mentions for Derah in the Palm Restaurant and Allan who was everywhere! And the elderly man who served us drinks at the Cove Suites ( apologies i didn’t take his name !) he was very special Not forgetting Kevin the GM who had built a special team and created this exceptional Resort. We've just returned from an amazing week as a family of 4 (kids 7 & 9 yrs). We had a ground floor Cove Suite which was wonderful as the children could bound straight out of the balcony doors and into the pool for a quick dip before breakfast each day. Our biggest concern was the food as our daughter has coeliac disease. We were encouraged by the menus online which listed lots of gluten free options, what we didn't know until we arrived was that basically everything can be adapted (unless it's already breaded). The children's menu's (not available online) offer GF pasta and bread as an option so it wasn't an issue at all. She lived on grilled tomato sandwiches, burgers and pasta. At breakfast she had the option of GF pasties and they even went so far as to put together a special pudding one evening when she asked whether she could have the breakfast muffin with a little sorbet. Honestly the staff couldn't have done more but it was all done without fuss so our rather shy daughter didn't feel at all singled out or like she was any different. It made her whole experience simply wonderful! They should shout about this more online as it would have put my mind at rest before we left. Next I must mention the kids club, the only down-side was that this was so wonderful we didn't manage to actually leave the resort to explore the island as the children wanted to do pretty much everything on offer (which surprised them as much as us I think)!! Ainsley and the team are lovely, they really get to know the children and nurture the holiday friendships that blossom. We didn't need to buy souvenirs as the kids came home with a t-shirt they'd tie-dyed, a huge seed pod they'd painted and several painted shells. They adored the movie night (Tuesday) and the chance to eat with all their new friends. They fished, held tortoises and re-discovered their love of den building and uno. It's really relaxed - drop in and out so there was never any pressure which really suited our children. The activities available for adults are also great, we loved the rum tasting - huge wealth of information about the history of the islands and rum production so even if you don't really like rum it's worth it for the info! The mixology session was great fun and the wine tasting was so much more about the wealth of information and history of wine than any sort of technical or pretentious tasting ability. Really wonderful setting with the sunset and the bats too! We had read reviews about how wonderful all the staff are and it's all true - everyone says hello and is so friendly! Nicole at the main reception is so calm and on-top of everything, Stephen at the bar makes the most incredible cocktails and the children really took to him, he's quiet and funny and so approachable for shy children (but makes the most incredible rum old fashioneds!!), we also had impromptu dialect lessons from the girls at Veronica's bar which was hilarious! They all had suggestions about what else to do on the island, not just the main tourist bits but other places to go to learn more about the island (so we must go back as we failed to do any of it!) I had a great chinwag with our housekeeper too! The mixture of the three restaurants was great, we found the food at the Cove rather more heavy than the other two so preferred the Palm and the Reef (which surprised us as we like a bit of fine dining). We'd brought our glad-rags and really enjoyed dressing up each night no matter where we ate. The breakfasts and lunches were amazing - so much choice (grilled grapefruit is going on our menu at home!), you know you're getting good food when they ask the children how they'd like their burgers cooked! Having never done a 'resort' or all-inclusive holiday before we wanted some activities to keep us busy and we really enjoyed taking the Hobie cat's out sailing. There was a 1-2m swell and decent breeze most days which made it rather fun, but possibly not suitable for the inexperienced at times. The watersports staff do offer lessons and to accompany you so everyone can get on the water. If it's breezy I'd advise you to check the boat over before you take it out - we found we needed to empty the hulls of water and there was the odd rather vital screw that needed tightening which we noticed but they hadn't, worth just giving them a once over for your own safety & peace of mind! Overall this was the most fabulous holiday, the only thing I would change is that next time I'd go weekday-weekday rather than Saturday-Saturday as we need the kids club-free weekend time to actually leave the resort and explore the island! I now wish that I'd written down all the staff's names so I could list them all here (I'm terrible at remembering names!) I don't quite feel I've done them all justice and really want them to know that their hard work and effort is so appreciated. It's a fantastic resort, but it's the staff that make it a truely wonderful holiday. (Oh and handy hint - there's a great sushi bar at the airport if you need some decent food while you wait for your delayed flight!)

We take your feedback and concerns regarding our watersports equipment very seriously and thank you for bringing this to our attention. Safety is our top priority, and we have since raised this with our watersports team to ensure boats and equipment are more carefully inspected going forward. Our family of 4 (parents & college aged children) spent 3 nights at Blue Waters and had a fantastic time! We booked 2 deluxe beachfront rooms and were pleased to find them side-by-side with a large porch split between the rooms (200 block.) We loved the location of our rooms - close to everything yet a bit removed from the restaurants & pool. (Also loved that the resort is only a 15-20 minute taxi ride from the airport!) The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful; they greeted us by name each day and made sure all was to our liking. Special shout-out to Tario, who hosted the very informative rum tasting and shared his passion for creating rum. The staff passed by us on the beach often to see if we needed any refreshments or to offer us fruit. The resort is beautifully landscaped and decorated, with a lovely, uncrowded beach. We felt the size was perfect - large enough to have a choice of 3 restaurants and 3 pools - but it still felt small and intimate due to the layout and landscaping. Meals were delicious and high-quality at all 3 restaurants, and the included breakfast was impressive - you could choose from one of a half dozen hot dishes made to order and served to the table (the Antiguan breakfast was a treat!) as well as a substantial cold buffet. We enjoyed taking out the double kayak right off the beach - wished we knew how to sail as several catamarans were available as well (they do offer lessons.) We loved our stay and would highly recommend it for families (there were many with young children - there is a kids' club and game room on site), for couples, or multi-generational families.

Just returned from a week stay at Blue waters with my two kids and husband. We are regular Caribbean travelers so this review is based on lots of experience. Upon arrival, you will be greeted with drinks and water bottles to use for the stay. They add a sticker with your name which was a nice detail. There is buggy service to shuttle you back and forth as the Villas are a bit further from the lobby, but it is also a nice short walk. The views and lush gardens are beautiful. For food: Palm restaurant for daily breakfast, lunch and dinner. The Reef for lunch and dinner, and the Cove for dinner on limited days. Food was average, and cocktails were not good, all very light with staff appearing to lack knowledge of how to make adult drinks. We had the all inclusive package, but some drinks such a mineral water were told to us they were extra charge. This was quite silly in my opinion. We stayed at the Cove section, which are private villa style rooms, you get walk out access to a pool overlooking the ocean which was wonderful and concierge service. When you first walk in the room, it is beautiful, more than enough space for our family. However, after settling in many things became evident. There is a walk in shower, and a spacious tub. The tub bottom was not clean so we didn't use. There was a roach spray in the drawer set under tv. Upon pulling out the sofa bed, we noticed two HUGE dead roaches which was terrible and a huge turn off. I can understand Caribbean places and its bugs however to be visible to customers is a red flag that there is a lack of cleaning and housekeeping. The mattress felt old and outdated, as it was extremely soft and caved in, and you can feel the springs. Nicole, a supervisor was made aware of both issues. I asked for a mattress topper, which was provided to us right away, it did help but if you need a firm bed, you will not sleep well. The air conditioner in the room was working but not fully so it was not a crisp clean coolness. We were on the ground floor in the Cove Villas, and you can hear every step and creak when someone was walked above. While at the pool one day with view of all the Villa rooms, there was staff spraying pesticide on the grounds and even inside all the rooms. I aired out the room right after they left, as pesticide is usually not good to breathe in. I have never seen pesticide being sprayed inside rooms before during all our Caribbean trips. The concierge service was non-existent. Because it was part of the Villa section, I wanted to find out what the services entail. However, Blue Waters is all about self-initiation and being proactive to find out more information. If I never asked, I believe we would not have been contacted. I finally met the concierge on day 3 after inquiring on my own. The person attending to us appeared visibly stressed, and became clear that there are management issues with staffing and duties, affecting customer service. For the rest of the week, there was no communication to follow up, or check in. Blue Waters Antigua is an average resort that does not live up to the expectations that comes with its HIGH price tag.

Dear terrytravels, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience at Blue Waters Resort. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed the personalized water bottles on arrival, the convenience of buggy transport around the property and the beautiful views of our gardens. Though, we are sad to hear that other aspects of your stay fell short of your expectations. It is regrettable to learn that the food and cocktails were not to your liking, however our team is always willing to accommodate special requests brought to our attention and would have been happy to make adjustments better suited to your preferences. We are sorry to hear that you also encountered unexpected charges. It is our policy to provide clear, accurate pricing on our menus, and we will be sure to review this area to ensure that it is more transparent going forward. While we are happy to hear that your first impression of your Cove Suite room was pleasant, it is truly disappointing to learn of the many faults that were later discovered. We sincerely apologize for these shortcomings; they are certainly not in line with our normal operation standard. We have since flagged this with our team to deter future reoccurrence. The comfort and wellbeing of our guests are our utmost priorities, and your feedback has helped us identify areas for improvement. Providing warm and attentive service is fundamental at Blue Waters Resort and we truly apologize for your experience with our concierge service not adequately reflecting these values. We regret that your overall stay did not fulfill your expectations as a result of these incidents, and we are committed to making the necessary improvements going forward. Thank you once again for sharing your feedback, we have taken all of your comments on board and hope to showcase the improvements we have made in the future. Best regards, Kevin, General Manager
