This was my second sandals resort and by far my favorite!!! The resort is absolutely beautiful and very well kept. The beach is long, very pretty, amazing white soft sand. It is a public beach so there are vendors, but that’s okay with me because they are usually cheaper, and if you are nice to them, they are nice to you. If you don’t want to buy, be nice, tell them no and everything is okay. The food was GREAT. I was skeptical to eat at barefoot for dinner but it was one of my favorite meals. Soy, kimonos, and Eleanors were our favorite. We did a private dinner and upgrade to the tour that over looks the pool and beach for 50 dollars more, well worth it!!! The staff was extremely friendly!!!! Housekeeping was so friendly, they even came by on our last day, just to tell us bye! The entertainment team was amazing. Ron and Shenika were so much fun! Knew our names by day two, and always asked how we were doing and went above and beyond to serve us!!!! Ronel, the chef at kimonos was so entertaining and a great cook. I highly recommend this resort and I will definitely return!!!!!

Hotel's Favorite
We went to our first Sandals resort 10 years ago in Antigua. It was fabulous & have been to 6 others on different islands since. It was time to return to Sandals Antigua. We are both seniors & retired so not looking for major activity. Once through customs & immigration , Sandals us to the resort & within 15 minutes we were enjoying champagne.. Our room was perfect for our needs on the ground floor walking out through our patio to a pool & hot tub. I was up by 7am & towels were already folded on the chairs by Emile. I did my morning swim & by just opening the blinds slightly my wife could see me swimming while still in bed. Once dressed we would stroll through the magnificent gardens which in our opinion are the best of any Sandals we have visited. We found Mario's buffet breakfast with pancakes, omelettes & eggs cooked to order plus smoked salmon, trout fruit etc suited our tastes & went every day. We enjoyed Bayfront (French) for dinner & went twice. Soy was first class for Sushi. Mario's was extremely good for Italian. Kimonos (you have to reserve) was fine, but we have seen better performance by chefs in the past. Barefoot was quite casual for seafood. We also were invited to the Sandals Select dinner which was outstanding & one of the best. The beach was lovely & we walked & swam in the ocean daily. The weather was warm, with a few showers & that is why the gardens are so lush. I forgot Cafe de Paris : you must go & to the Chocolate & Martini evening..

My wife and I celebrated our 30 year wedding anniversary and exchanged our wedding vows with our family present (10 people total). Really enjoyed the "Sandals experience" - many employees felt proud to work for Sandals and like to tell us about the customer experience training they receive. The Antigua property was 100% full but so large you never felt crowded and where largely able to do what we wanted but had to be flexible on dining times. Staff was overall friendly and very helpful. Food was good to very good but certainly not consistently excellent (what I would expect). Very good overall value. I would highly recommend the property for those who want this type of experience!

This is the first time we have been to Antigua, also our first time at a Sandals resort. We could not have asked for a better trip. We felt quite blessed to be somewhere so beautiful. We were picked up immediately from the airport by a kind taxi driver. He drove us along the coast so we could get excited about our trip. We were greeted by wonderful people at Sandals. We were a part of "Club Sandals", which was supposed to be an upscale concierge service for us. They assisted us in making dinner reservations, which is the one part that had a few issues. We made reservations for a restaurant on the resort each night. When we went to the restaurants, most of them did not have our reservation. They all were eager to get us seated, so it was not a problem, until we went to our private candlelit dinner on the beach. This was also not scheduled. We were quite frustrated, but thanks to the managers on staff (Martin and Stanley), we were still able to have the perfect romantic dinner we'd hoped for. We cannot say enough about them and their eagerness to help us and correct the issue. They promised to look into what caused those issues and correct them. Hopefully, no one else experiences this small glitch. That being said, the food was amazing, especially thanks to the chef, Juleen. She personally came to our table to greet us and make sure everything was perfect. In fact, the entire staff is amazing. Everyone greets you with a smile and a kind hello. We had spa treatments (facials in the salon and massages on the beach - highly recommend!!). They were over the top. We enjoyed so much of our trip. It was easy to meet other guests with the wine tasting and cocktail party. They had trivia about Antigua, so we were able to learn more about the island and its people. The bartenders, wait staff, front desk staff, photographers, and janitorial staff were all worth praise. A few stuck out in our minds. Carol Aaron kept our room perfect and always had a smile for us. She was so kind and patient with us when we happened to be in the room when she came by to clean. She even stopped by on our last day to say good bye and to thank us for coming. We cannot say enough kind words about her. We also have to give a big shout out to Delmore. He is a photographer on staff. He has an amazing eye and is full of useful info about the island and resort in general. We will definitely be back!

This was our 2nd Sandals in 20 years and honestly nothing has changed as far as quality. The resort grounds are beautiful as is the beach. However, the rooms and common areas are not maintained as far as cleanines. We has anrs in our suite throughout which we contacted our butlers and housekeeping came and sprayed only to have the issue again the next day. I believe the reason for this was that there was a gap at our front door and the hallway in the Mediterranean towers were not cleaned as ther there was room service dishes and drinks constantly being left in the hallways for hours therefore attracting insects. We never saw the personnel clean the common areas (i.e. tables, chairs) around the property as there were always dishes, garbage and glasses left by guests. With covid you would think that the property would be more cleaned throughout the day. Our butlers, Sean and Niecer were great and we loved them. The only disappointment we had was we there to celebrate our 26th Anniversary and nothing, I mean nothing was done for us. No decorations no special celebration jesters. The resort, our TA and butlers all knew we were here to celebrate our anniversary and nothing. On our butler preference form, we were asked what kind of snacks we would like and we let them know only to get nothing. I requested fresh flowers in our suite and again nothing. We had hordevors the first 2 afternoons and 1 bath drawn and then nothing. Butler service was nice, but we did not get what was advertised or promised. As far as the restaurants, the only good place to eat was Soy and Barefoot Grill. All others not so good, especially Marios. The staff there for both breakfast and dinner were extremely rude and acted like you were putting them out. No personal service whatsoever. O.K. Corral we watched the chefs and servers fight constantly when we had dinner which was unpleasant. Overall the food was mediocre. George and staff at Soy were personable knew what we liked when we came in, especially for me it was great as I don't like sushi, but George always had my edame and ginger salad waiting for me. We did a couple massage at Red Lane and even though the massages were the best we ever had, there was no spa experience. We checked in, changed into our robes and sat us in a hallway on chairs. No relaxing music, scents, fruit water, etc to be offered. Just sit and wait. After the massage I gave the spa attendant a tip fir the 2 of them and her comment wasn't his is for the 2 of us?" Indicating the tip was not enough, so my husband went back to our suite and got more money which amounted to 40% tip. We have been to many Secret Resorts and the spa experience there is something that Sandals needs to take tips from. Overall, we are glad we went because it was a vacation well needed, however things could have been better. This chain needs to work on there customer service, condition of properly and live up to the 5 star rating they advertise. I doubt we will ever do a Sandals resort again. We will stick to Secrets and try Excellence resorts next time. I wish it was a better review. As stated, we did like Sean, Niecer and George as well as the grounds and beach, but that was it.
