My husband and I just returned from a glorious 11 days at Jumby Bay Island in Antigua! There is nothing to ever question when considering a vacation here! The accommodations, food, wine, and amenities are beyond excellent! A beautiful beach , pools, and a staff provide you all you ever need! We have already rebooked for Thanksgiving when we will return with our children and grandchildren! Need we say more! The Kirsch’s

The service at the hotel didn't go in accordance with the price and category of hotel you are offering. There were a lot of details that were missed due to miscommunications between the staff. We had to ask for things various times in order to obtain them. For example, we asked for training wheels on one of the bikes, we never received them. Also, we asked for extra hangers and we received them after asking three times. Additionally, we asked for a change of time on our COVID test booking and on the day of the test, we had to wait for over an hour because they did not communicate this to the nurse. At restaurants and beach, some orders were not complete or correct. We were offered a surprise for my wife's birthday and it never happened. Upon departure, they were unpunctual and we didn't receive any instruction at the airport. In conclusion, this resort is extremely overpriced for the kind of service we received.

As soon as we felt safe to travel, we thought about the places we had been before and knew that Jumby Bay would be a perfect choice in this strange new pandemic world we're now living in. We have been to the resort twice before, but the last time was eleven years ago (too much to see in the world). I'm writing this review after just returning home last night while the experience is still so alive in our memories. I can honestly say that it was one of the most perfect vacations we've had in years... The room - we stayed in a Beach Suite w Pool, the rooms are decorated so gorgeously with stunning views of the beach. So much space! An outside shower and huge bathtub (one of my favorite things), an extremely comfortable bed, large double vanities...and our private pool - the perfect spot for coffee in the morning and a cocktail at night (and it wasn't cold like some pools!). The food - we tried every restaurant and all of our meals were of the highest quality, beautifully presented and such imaginative dishes! The staff at every dining spot at the resort were so nice, we never felt rushed and we felt so special at every meal. We also enjoyed a private beach dinner (a must, it was incredible) and a private picnic on Pasture Bay Beach (another must, seriously!). Dinner at the Farm was amazing, so fresh and in a beautiful setting. The White Beach Party is always fun, the live music at both spots were great! Also, try to go to The Estate House when the pianist is there - he was so talented! The beach - so pristine and the staff made sure to evenly space everyone out so that you felt you were on an island alone! Goodies served every other hour, cocktails with just a wave of your hand! Really, really hard to leave this paradise. We were also celebrating our 15 year wedding anniversary - and were delighted that all of the staff remembered and wished us well. The entire resort was filled with such an incredible group of hard workers...I don't want to name anyone in particular, so afraid I would leave someone out, but everyone was amazing! From riding a bike around the island to enjoying the stunning spa and fabulous massages to simply shopping in the cute boutique...it was well worth the wait for a vacation. We're kicking ourselves that it took eleven years to go back...now we're counting the months until we can return. Thank you, Jumby Bay, for making this a memorable, perfect 15 year wedding anniversary!!!! Chris and Kat

Know what kind of test you need to return home. We were under the impression we needed PCR tests to return to the United States. The PCR test involves the hospital lab & a doctor coming over to perform the nasal swab. The result were not timely, it took six days for us to actually receive them! We were able to get by with rapid tests performed by the resort nurse minutes before our departure. We paid for two sets of tests. So yes, I'm still frustrated that our trip was marred by this right at the end. Some of the staff are really great. Shaun & Travis our boat driver & snorkel tour guide-terrific. Frank the ski boat driver, made my day! Travis the bar tender, great energy. Actually all the people at water sports were helpful. There are only two beaches but they don't feel crowded. Actually Pasture beach was empty each time we walked it. They have two wetland areas that attract a variety of birds which I appreciated seeing. Some of the trees were in bloom. The tractor of the beach in the morning was obnoxious, but hand raking seaweed is impractical. We didn't see much in the way of fish in the main beach, a few star fish and one ray. Actually nobody was snorkeling because there isn't much to see. There are huge homes on this small island and it looks like more development is planned. Biking around the island is fairly quick, maybe 2.5 miles. My daughter did go to kids club, she had good and bad experiences there. As a parent it looked like they had fun things planned. She is twelve and is getting a little old for kids club I was happy with the food, all good there. I especially liked the band at the farm dinner. I think all but one evening meal had live music. COVID testing definitely added stress, but overall it was worth it to get to a beautiful beaches.

Rosewood management was far superior to the new updated Oetker. Incredible beach, food, and staff, but complete lack of proper dining / activity scheduling and organization at double the price makes it a low value experience in comparisson to other luxury Caribbean options. Lots of small first world problems add up when you’re spending this price point, so not to bore you with the details, but you have better options. They’ve packed the island with more guests than the wonderful staff can handle; what was once a mostly reservation free, all inclusive flexible vacation experience, turned into a regimented scheduling disaster that we had to fight for on a daily basis to eventually get into the estate house, boat rental, and nightly activities. They did accommodate our complaints... but begrudgingly. If you choose to go, prepare to schedule every meal weeks before arrival to the hour. If it were my choice - Go to Amanyara instead.
