We arrived at resort to be greeted by two of our butlers at reception who took care of our luggage and took us on a tour of the resort with a rum punch at the pool bar while watching the sunset overlooking the Atlantic ocean. Resort had all the protocols in place to be 'covid friendly' and was spotless in cleanliness throughout. we had opted for an Oceanfront suite and was not disappointed, the view was spectacular from our room and balcony, the bed and pillows were super comfortable . We were able to 'whatsapp' the butlers for anything we required but they were on hand throughout the day to sort out our plans for seeing the island and any restaurant bookings, they were amazing and so friendly. The resort had 2 pools, one was right on the oceanfront and was usually an 'adults only' pool which had a swim up pool bar but as the resort was so so quiet, the few children that were there (for some of our time when it was UK half term) used it too but it was not an inconvenience, they were very well behaved and it was nice to be able to 'people watch' a bit as once the families went home we were virtually the only ones left at the resort which in some way is lovely but in another nice to have a few people around to chat to although we did have the fantastic staff. You are limited to one restaurant with one menu for lunch and one for dinner (apart from them bringing you sushi from sushi menu when requested) apart from a Friday and a Saturday when the upstairs fine dining restaurant was open requiring a surcharge of $40 which I didn't feel was worth it as no better than main restaurant and for what we had paid for all-inclusive, I felt this restaurant should have been included in the package. The food overall was extremely good. We went out on 3 evenings on our 11 night stay to other restaurants for a change. I do think the menu should have been changed every 2 to 3 days. Apart from that, we had an wonderful time and really enjoyed our trip over to 'Prickly Pear Island'. Thank you Iroy for taking my husband off snorkelling. In fact thank you to all the wonderful staff for making us feel so welcomed and safe.…
What a great week we had at Hodges bay. Wow what a stunning piece of property. If this place is this good during covid I can’t even imagine you will be able to find a room available when all this is over. Breakfast on the ocean every morning. Two gorgeous pools to choose from, multiple 5 star restaurants, spacious rooms with all the amenities you would ever need. Couldn’t as for much more. The butlers were amazing, shoutout to Will and Johnathan they were a phone call away all week for anything we needed. Bar staff was friendly, fast, and all had great personalities. Jeff and his crew have certainly out done themselves this time. Paradise!
5 Star review based on the staff at the resort. Will, Johnathan, Delvin, iRoy (a.k.a vibe ambassador) and Tango particularly stood out. Great team and very helpful. All a credit to the hotel. Location very nice.
Just returned from Hodges Bay after spending 12 nights....Really missing it. In difficult times the resort remains practically fully functional which is a credit to Romane and his staff. Our penthouse suite was very special and immaculately clean, our butlers were very helpful and friendly (special mention to Will & Jon). The pool staff were brilliant with the kids, dining staff looked after our every need Make the most of Hodges during these quiet times, a very cool resort.
Couldn’t recommend this place less if I tried. Management is so poor and unhelpful, specifically Romane. After being improperly charged, finding hair in our to-go food and being offered zero apologies because we “didn’t take a photo” the place was a total mess. Only one restaurant is open during the week for all three meals, no juice bar, no gelato station that they claim on their website. Totally understand things changing with covid but they should update their website accordingly so guests know what to expect upon arrival instead of being bamboozled. This resort is also on the Atlantic side of the island so no pretty clear water like their pictures show and it’s about a $70 trip via taxi to get to the Caribbean side. Stay somewhere else and save yourself the headache
