There is both a Tsienimparihy Lodge and a Tsienimparihy Hotel. The pictures accompanying the Tsienimparihy Hotel listing on most of the online booking websites are of the lodge. I did not find any listings for the lodge, except here on TA. Also, I have not found any pictures of the hotel anywhere online. The lodge is bungalows and is very nice - recommended. However, the hotel, which is in town, is not very nice. Apparently, they are owned by the same people. I booked and paid for the "hotel," advertised with pictures of the "lodge" with Hotels.com. I used that site specifically because I could pay in advance. Upon arrival in Ambalavao, our driver asked where we were staying. When we told him Tsienimparihy, he was concerned and called both the lodge and the hotel. Neither place had our reservation or our money!!!! Our driver had had the same problem happen with some of his previous tourists, so he was aware. Fortunately, we were able to book a very nice bungalow at the lodge and enjoyed our stay. When I attempted to explain this problem to Hotels.com, they refused to refund my payment and did not even pay any attention to my narrative!!!! "Someone" is scamming Hotels.com and probably all of the online booking sites, as the listings were the same for every website I checked. Hotels.com does not seem to be interested. Needless to say, I will not be booking anything with them again!!!!! Note, there is a similar review noting the problem on the Hotels.com website.…
I had a reservation for this hotel, only to get notification later that they had to cancel my reservation since they were overbooked. This has happened to me in the past, which is the result of some tour group booking after I do, and wanting all the rooms. This has really put a damper in my plans, and am now scrambling to find another room at the last minute. Well, at least they told me beforehand, rather than when I arrived to check in. Very disappointed.
On the way this hotel is a good option. Neat Bungalows in a nice garden. Food is quite good. Bungalows are ok equipped. As it is cold in winter st nights bring warm clothes. WiFi worked one day but the other day not
We stayed one night in this lodge. The area is very well kept and the rooms are spacious and nice equipped. The food in the restaurant is good. Its a pitty that you have no view about the wonderful mountains around the lodge. Wi-Fi worked only a few hours.
Nice bungalows with a terras,The room is big and is verry nice decorated, and have a verry good bed,as also a good shower. They have several windows,so you can,,open them at night, for fresh air.Nice garden also The food is verry good, and the staff verry friendly
This cluster of apricot-hued stucco bungalows with thatched roofs, surrounding a well-cared-for rose garden, is quite attractive. The bungalows themselves are spacious and have beautiful wood furniture as well as wood shutters and other decorative accents. Windows on all sides of the unit encourage breezes to offset the heat. The solar-power-sourced water was hot, and had pretty good pressure. Each unit has a patio with furniture. The large dining room/bar has attentive staff with good language skills for foreign tourists. Menu options were many and portion size was huge, made in the style of French cuisine. Power is turned off a night so pack your flashlight (hand-held and forehead-mounted) to be able to function in the dark. Nearby is a small factory which makes silk scarves and other products – it is worth a quick visit to see the hand-made procedure and products. This pleasant visit was included in our tour by Linah at Authentic Madagascar Tours.…
We spent one night here. Beautiful, detached bungalows with mosquito nets. Although a sign said we couldn't use hair driers, when we asked, I was allowed to for a short time (It's all solar powered). A good vegetarian selection of food choices. It's a fair way out of the main town and therefore really quiet.
Our group of 20 had an enjoyable lunch here. It was booked ahead for us and vegetarian options were catered for. The chicken with a tasty ginger sauce was very nice. The decor was nice. The accommodation looked good and service friendly.
Stayed here for onite stop from Ranaomfana to isolo The lodge is well set out with thatched roof bures. very neat and attractive grounds. On arrival we were given a welcome drink of guava juice and creme de menthe plus hot samosas to eat. The restaurant area is large, neat and attractive with wall designs in metal placed around the circular room. Breakfast was good with a good selection of breads, croissants, juice, tea / coffee and eggs (however you wanted) Bedrooms were spacious with ample room to move and storage of your possessions. The bed was firm but unfortunately the wrong fittings for our double bed were used eg. a single bed sheet for the double bed and a blanket which stretched across thee tp of the bed. We asked for another blanket. Pillows were very soft and not comfortable at all, lumpy and not conducive to a good nights sleep. Bathroom facilities were partitioned off via a sheet curtain for the doorway. Hot water was good but pressure very poor. Dinner in the restaurant was good. Selection of your food was made on arrival and you gave a time as to when you would like it served. Good selection of food highlighted by the great french sauces…
The individual cabins are set a good distance from the road. The grounds are vey pleasant and the staff are very attentive .The restaurant is very modern and the meal was excellent. In fact a little too much to eat.
