We (couple + 4-month-old) stayed at Claxton Hall Cottage during the first week of November, and were very impressed. We do not normally stay in B&Bs, typically preferring boutique-style hotels, but we discovered after our daughter was born that many of the hotels we would have stayed at before are not accommodating to babies. Warm welcome, coffee and cake worked a treat on arrival after a long journey in. Lots of local information available in the room plus Carol's local knowledge was useful to maximize our time there. No dvd player in the room as standard but one was provided upon request. Room airy, clean and comfortable. The bed was so comfortable, slept very...

Our room was clean and spacious and beautifully and tastefully furnished with 4 poster bed and sofa to sit on. There was also a very nice lounge for guests'...

Booking late we had a pleasant twin room with a great view; immaculte linen and a very comfortable night's sleep. Breakfast was very good and Carole catered for our every need. What a friendly and helpful hostess she is and she dealt seemlessly with a full breakfast room, serving a whole range of different choices. York is easily accessible. There...
