Mangawhai Lodge is a smallish B&B run by Jeanette, an experienced proprietor who is devoted to helping you have a memorable experience during your stay. Mangawhai Lodge is located high on a hill in the smallish seaside village of Mangawhai. The B&B offers great sea views from a wrap-around deck. Each room has access to the deck so you are... More

Although the apartment we stayed in was on the ground floor (no sea view) and also a little dated, it was very comfortable and had everything we needed, the host Jeannette was very helpful and had great knowledge of the area. The local village was walking distance with lovely places to eat or just sit and have ice cream etc.... More

This hotel is a perfect stop for the ideal location of Mangawhai. The hostess is very accomodating and informative on local attractions and where to eat. The sea views are very special. We only stayed there for one night but would of found it very easy to stay an extra few more. Breakfast was very homely. AAA+

We stayed here in an apartment for 2 nights with friends. The apartment is spacious with a lounge, 2 bedrooms, shared bathroom and kitchen plus a balcony overlooking Mangawhai Heads. The view is the major selling point but the Lodge itself is comfortable and the owner is friendly and helpful. The nearby cafe, Harvest Blue, is highly recommended for breakfast... More

Stayed two nights. Good TA reviews fully justified for this small gem. Very comfortable and clean rooms most (as far as we could see) with access to balcony with excellent views. Quiet, away from fairly busy main road but short walk to all restaurants etc in Mangawhai (there aren't that many!!) Very helpful host, good breakfasts...what more can you ask.

We spent 4 days/nights at this wonderful lodge over the New Year period. The view from our room/balcony was awesome! Jeanette the owner/hostess was a delight & was very helpful with recommendations... More
