Rob Le Roux was a perfect host. Very attentive and always looking to make sure that we were comfortable. If you want to get away from it all, this is just the place for you. One is completely off the grid at the end of a Rob's private valley. We made the drive from Kareedouw not in a 4x4 and...

We appreciate the positive responses from our guests. Each and every guest is special, and so we try and treat them accordingly with the warmest hospitality that has made the Baviaanskloof region such a popular destination for visitors. Good food, clean comfortable accommodation, warm hospitality and tranquility in this wilderness region are the hallmarks of Baviaans Lodge.

The Baviaanskloof was on our bucket list for years and now we made it. We choose Baviaans Lodge for the location in the middle of the mega reserve and the fullboard option. The road from the Kareedouw/R62 side is accessible in a sedan car (by a patient driver), go slow and careful. The place is hidden in a lush green...

Its our intention to make our guests visits an unforgettable and enjoyable experience ! Good country style home cooked meals, walks in the wilderness, and the remarkable solitude of this wilderness region is what you can expect at Baviaans Lodge.

It is seldom that one travels on such a breathtaking road to reach your destination. Every part of the lodge has been built by the owner, Rob Le Roux, using as much local material as possible. Built out of rounded river stones, the cottages also sport a cosy fire place for those winter evenings. Food is all homemade and make...

Our host provided knowledgeable and interesting information about the SAN paintings he took us to view. We also took a lovely walk to a beautiful gorge for a swim. Food was good. Accommodation is clean and adequately comfortable. We were however disappointed with the sense of neglect that is evident with the property and gardens. The pool is a murky...

We do apologize to those who visited us over the last December/January who may not have found everything as what we would normally expect our guests to find when visiting us. We take a lot of pride in the presentation and upkeep, but due to the extreme circumstances, this was not possible over this period. December 2nd till the 15...

What a fabulous place Rob has, if you're looking for tranquillity and a piece of nature this is the place for you. We stayed at the lodge in November 16 as part of our tour around South Africa with our 12 week old baby. Rob was extremely welcoming and couldn't do enough for us. We liked the lodge so much...

For a comfortable stay in a remote location with simple luxury, tasty home-cooked meals and personal attention by host Rob and his family, Baviaans Lodge should be your choice. The lodge offers peace and quiet in the foothills of the Baviaanskloof at start of the 4x4 route into the actual Baviaanskloof. The site is off grid, relying on solar and...

If you want a good 4x4 experience in superb scenery then stay with Rob Louw at his Lodge. Rob is a personable host and both interesting and thoughtful. If you cannot live without electricity then skip this lodge. The setting is unique and the feeling of getting away from it all makes it something that will be etched in your...

Baviaans Lodge is very rustic and basic accomodation but totally adequate. It offers wonderful attentive service from Rob, the owner. The food was tasty and well prepared. Rob took us on a super drive through the reserve and surrounding farms that lasted several hours and his knowledge of the history of the area and the wild flowers impressed us. If...
