We are a family of 3, travelling at the time with a 10 month old, and this was such a perfect little house. We wanted a self-contained place and this was clean and stocked with the necessities when we got there. If you wanted to pay a lot and have a hotel, this isn't the place; but if you want... More

We flew in last night from our 8 night trip to Rarotonga, where we stayed at Vaikoi the whole week, With a large group of friends staying at the Rarotongan - I wanted to book somewhere close by that was self contained with a bit of space for us and our 6 month old (as we're not really 'resort' fans),... Lois & I spent 7 days in Rarotonga, staying at Vaikoi back in 2010. This was our 2nd stay with Kathy & Maata. We have absolutely no reservation in recommending Vaikoi. We wanted something self contained, clean, comfortable and quiet and it was this and more. It provided everything we needed and was in immaculate condition, with very hospitable hosts... More

We just came back from a 10 days holiday staying in the one bedroom bungalow. My partner and I had a fantastic time in our stay in this peaceful and tranquil place. We have been adopted by one of the property's cat ,Rocky.Since we are both cat people,we had the bonus of this cat's company. The beach is a 2 minutes walk... More

We stayed in one of Vaikoi’s one-bedroom bungalows for 4 nights in June 2012. The accommodation was perfect for what we needed. The bungalow was clean and tidy, had a great bathroom with a good shower, a good size deck, lovely surroundings and barbeque facilities (shared with the other bungalow). All the basic supplies were provided, plus breakfast foods and... More

In rarotonga for the first time for a wedding and the stayed with another couple in the Vaikoi house. The accomadtion was clean and tidy with plenty of room. What I like most about the house was it was a wonderful alternative to resorts allowing freedom to cook the local fish yourself. The rooster can drive you a bit crazy... More

Thanks to our wonderful hosts, Kathy and Mata, we had 2 wonderful weeks in Raratonga. This was our first visit to the Cook Islands and we certainly were not disappointed. Mata met us at Bungalow 2 (1 bedroom bungalow) when we arrived very early one morning. Mata's warm welcome was very sweet. The bungalow was spotless and a breakfast pack... More

We stayed at Vaikoi on our way back to Melbourne from Vancouver (after an Alaskan cruise) and were very impressed. We stayed in a one bedroom cottage which was equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay (even powder for the washing machine). Vaikoi is situated in lovely garden surrounds and each cottage is in a separate garden area. There... More

This was our second stay at Vaikoi in one of the bungalows. Our daughter and husband stayed in the other bungalow and family in the house. Our daughter had her wedding on the beach across the road with Mata as the celebrant. A perfect place for family get-togethers. The bungalows and house are spotlessly clean and everything you need is... More

My husband and I returned to rarotonga, for a part work and part vacation visit, of over three weeks, and stayed with mata and kathy, again, at vaikoi, in one of their bungalows. We can't say enough about this place- peace and quiet with one of the best swimming and snorkeling beaches on the island a 2 minute walk down... More
