We are a gay couple who spent ten nights at Palm Grove. We booked a one bedroom bungalow through Qantas Hotels for a good price. Hotel transfers were arranged over email. When we arrived at Rarotonga Airport, we were met by the hotel staff and easily transferred to the hotel. We

Kia Orana Linda. Thanks for your enquiry. Our tropical breakfast includes cereals, breads, fruits, homemade yogurt, hard boiled eggs, banana bread, and lemon bread, plus coffee, teas, juices, milk, and a variety of spreads. In addition the Kitchen normally prepares a daily bonus item, which varies between scones, muffins, mini quiches, and pancakes. However, we do have pancakes on our cooked breakfast menu as well (please note a charge applies to items ordered from this menu). Cheers, Palm Grove

Kia Orana, Thanks for your enquiry. Yes, we have a guest laundry onsite and tokens can be purchased for NZ$4 each for a wash or dry. Also, all of our bungalows have clotheslines. Our onsite restaurant is called The Yellow Hibiscus and is open every day for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Daily tropical breakfast buffet is included in our room rates. Within walking distance is Vaima Restaurant and Cocolatte Cafe. The local bus stops out front every 30 mins during the day and every hour during the evenings (please note the Sunday schedule is more limited). I would recommend you visit the Cocotots website - they offer a variety of baby gear for hire for reasonable prices and it will save you trying to bring everything with you on the plane. Cheers, Betsy Palm Grove

I will try to answer some of your questions. Yes there is a laundry on site. You pay to use the washer and each unit has a little clothes line out back. I had a kitchen with a sink so I was able to do hand washing there as well. There is a grocery store nearby as well although the bigger stores downtown are more reasonably priced. Rarotonga is a small island - only about 20 miles around. Palm Grove is about half the way around from the main town. They have a Clockwise Bus and a Anti Clockwise Bus. There is a bus stop right at Palm Grove. You can buy of book of 10 tickets for $30 NZ dollars. I am not sure if they charge for babies or not. You may chose to be within walking distance of the town. Palm Grove does have it's own restaurant and the food is excellent. However all the rooms have kitchen facilities which are handy so you don't have to eat out all the time. And yes they do provide a continental breakfast for all guests - fruit, eggs, toast, cereal. The variety is quite good. I stayed there for just over a month and I really had to learn to relax and just truly enjoy the beach and water. If you are looking for a vacation with lots of things to do, Raratonga may not be the best choice. It is very quiet. They only have one TV station and it is not like North American TV at all. The island is very polynesian, very beautiful and very lay back. The people are wonderful. Enjoy your stay.

Kia Orana cafe con leche, Thanks for your enquiry. We don't offer SUPs onsite but we do have complimentary kayaks, snorkel equipment, beach chairs, and beach towels. However, there are multiple SUP rentals and tours (even night SUP tours with light up SUPs!) available on island. Let me know if you need any more info! Cheers, Betsy
