A very special place. There is not much to do except give in to the utter romanticism and magic of the setting. I loved overnighting here and would go out of my way again just to experience the charm. It is worth a detour, at least for one night with someone special.

In a dreamlike landscape is the location of the peaceful village "Marialva". Unwittingly of what to expect, I was simply speechless about the loveliness & beauty of "Casas do Côro"! Pittoresque and generous houses, extraordinarily Spa area, very charming and generous hosts, thanks to Carmen and Paulo Romão. If you are looking for a peaceful place to stay you have... More

I have stayed previously at Casas do Couro and stayed at Casa da Pipa. AMAZING main suite! Beautiful decor, cozy decadent soffistication, big room, 3 big windows, great views, fireplace and good sitting area. That decor is for me the real concept of Casas do Coro. This time I was given room refúgio das fragas which is a room in... More

what a beautiful report, the most posh that I have seen this trip, however a little too quite for my taste. I think this is beautiful and would be welcome to anyone looking for peace and quite. I would recommend for couple looking for a romantic trip

It is a splendid, high quality resort inserted in an old stone village (Marialva). One cannot almost fathom from the outside which stone houses belong to the resort and which belong to the native village people. This is the result of a well planned architectural makeover, taking great care with all significant aspects: aescetics wise, landscape integration and preservation of... More

This was our third visit to Casas do Coro and needless to say we are planning a fourth for next year so you could say we are huge fans of the place! Casas do Coro remains a paradise to me and provides a huge antidote to London life. Carmen and Paulo greeted (and treated) us like family. Susanne and Sofia... More

Lovely spot, very rustic underfoot, need country foot ware. Endless sunshine. Nice pool in a burning hot patio. Room bigger than we needed—two bedrooms for a couple. Smelled of last occupants' cigarettes. Buggy, always swatting flies that follow you about. Dark and funky but clean, going for luxury but missing the mark. Kind personnel, charming owners. Wanted an aperitif and... More

Right in the heart of the historic village lays this gem. A perfect place for a weekend of rest . The rooms were spacious and clean . The staff is always ready to answer to any issue you may have. The pool was wonderful, just at feet of the castle you can get a wonderful view. Take some time to... More

We hired a self-drive boat on the Douro and this was one of the places recommended to us by the boat-hire people. Marialva was quite a distance from Pocinho (where we had moored the boat) but a taxi was arranged for us and we were taken first to the Castelo which overlooks the village- then to the restaurant. We weren't... More
