We have just recently come back from a great holiday here. Our cabin was right by the sea which was amazing, especially at night when you can see stars and planets once the skies clear, either on our cabin porch or in the Sky bar for cocktails. Staff are very honest, polite, hard working and keep the hotel in order. Food was fine but as with buffets it can be lukewarm and occasionally not cooked through but when you get it fresh and hot, it is wonderful, especially the pizza. It is clean and newly refurbished but there are a few places that needs TLC such as the restaurant tarpaulin roof which accumulated water after a storm and then nature decided to tip the water over our table (we was getting food so we escaped luckily) and a toilet block. The weather was hot and then very hot at one point it was 39c so plenty of factor 50 is needed. The pool was visually stunning but very cold at times. As for activities, the sailing, kayak, paddle boards and windsurfing was outstanding and the incredibles all got sailing and windsurfing qualifications. My teen and tween really enjoyed the kids clubs and went on plenty of outings outside as well as activities in the hotel which are not just water based. A walk up Paklencia national park and Starigrad-Paklenica itself is a great adventure. More importantly go for the Cocktail Clinic and Wine tasting, it is worth it and Ian is a very good teacher and guide. Also the photography service is good too but pricey but it is worth going for the unlimited with a USB which is better value for money. If you want to stay by the pool or have a sun bed underneath an olive tree by the beach then that's OK too which is what I did with the occasional aqua fitness in the pool. Use of the spa is good but is extra which is not mentioned which is annoying. Overall it is expensive here which is why it is four and not five and you can quickly build up quite a bill so it would be useful to have more detailed bills as children can get a little carried away when charging to the room. Otherwise it was nearly a perfect holiday and hope to come back again next year.

My daughter and I stayed here for 2 weeks from the 3rd Aug. It was excellent. Loved everything about it. Activities were fantastic and the beach team are a dream! So patient and encouraging at all times. Windsurfing was taught by Todd, Elliott, Harry and Caleb. While dinghy sailing we had Josh, Todd (again, poor Todd!), Tommy, Josh and another one (sorry can't remember). They made our holiday and deserve much praise. Also loved the fitness classes, Wes and Emma do a great job. The Gym could do with some more technogym cardio equipment, but then if you wanted to run you could go out with the instructors everyday. My daughter has never been to 'kids club' before, but she actually joined in with the group here and loved it. It is very active and well tailored to the age groups. Facilities are great, especially the pool. The restaurant was lovely but a little busy at lunch time in the second week. It was easier to set up my own table than wait for the busy staff to do it. Food fantastic, only repetitive if you are the type of person who has several options on one plate! The bar team were also very efficient, particularly at getting my 5pm beer each day. Sky bar has amazing views at sunset. The room was small but perfectly formed. Storage was excellent and the bathrooms great. The staff always make a Neilson holiday and the staff here are excellent. I especially liked their charity pool Olympics and the quizzes. Resort host Dan is an excellent singer and guitar player so the open mic night is good. Surprisingly loads of guest were excellent singers too! Thank you Neilson, I'm your biggest fan!!

Despite the plane breaking down, being put up in a hotel and being delayed 27 hours, we had a fantastic time. Neilson’s couldn’t apologise enough and compensated us even though it wasn’t their fault. Their head office were very impressive at crisis management. The children (10&12) had a great time with hotshots sailing all day and we enjoyed the tennis.

Our fifth Neilson summer break, and our fourth resort. It is human nature to immediately see what each new resort does not have, but each resort has lots of different additions. I will focus on this resort and what it has. Transfer from the airport is short, c 40mins and with Zadar being such a small airport, the wait for bags is not too bad. The hotel is a bit clinical in outward appearance, but our rooms were recently refurbed, spotlessly clean (and kept so throughout the stay) and with a good shower and air con. Croatia staff on reception, maintenance, housekeeping and food were all v professional, polite and efficient. Their work rate was a stark comparison to some of the Brit “saisonnaires”. Food can get repetitive, but probably more due to our choosing of certain dishes, as opposed to the repertoire cooked freshly each meal. The pizzas are OUTSTANDING. Good bar by the pool, though still at Neilson prices. Come on Neilson, we are paying enough for the holiday, why do we have to pay through the nose for drinks, too? Facilities good, with a v good gym, great pool and wide landing area for water-based activities. Grounds scrupulously kept. Also a well-appointed spa, with a very good masseur (Luka). Some good local restaurants (see separate reviews). Did not try the BBQ, but 16yo so did. Did not rate it as highly as other Neilson BBQs. Matt from TAG gets a special mention as does Joe in sailing. I biked; was helped massively after a few mis-starts with Booking confusion by Jayne. And Jayne, along with her team, really helpful for both the organised rides and for just taking a bike out. Lots of other activities, but these were the ones we took part in the most. Really good holiday once there. But come on Neilson, Titan Airways are a shocker!!

We stayed here for 2 weeks in August and it was very hot! Some days it reached 38 degrees. The staff at this hotel work very hard and they create a positive and relaxed atmosphere. This hotel is great if you are looking for an action packed family holiday however it lacks a touch of luxury for the price. The food is adequate however can get a little dull after 2 weeks. A little more variety in the food especially puddings would have been greatly appreciated. The restaurant does however have a relaxed vibe and is done up nicely for evenings. The range of activities and equipment is excellent. There are plenty of boats, paddle boards and windsurfers so there is never any need to wait, the team will just get it ready for you right away. The courses are super flexible and nothing feels inaccessible whatever level you are. For me and the rest of my family the fitness classes were the highlight. The team were excellent and we enjoyed a great range of classes and activities, yoga being one of our favourites. Wes and Emma were fantastic at creating an encouraging and relaxed environment. The bars are excellent and the sky bar has fantastic views. Having said this the pool area is adequate and could definitely we improved to enhance a sense of luxury. They plastic sun loungers do bring the quality of the area down slightly and having non plastic ones would definitely improve the vibe. The rooms are also small and so can be impractical at times when sharing. Having said this, they are very clean and the decor is modern and smart. Again these are just small details and overall we had a fantastic holiday. If you are looking for a luxury holiday too lounge around the pool then this is not the hotel for you however I would 100% recommend this hotel to any active families that are looking for a fun and adventurous holiday! Everyone is super friendly and sociable, you will definitely make some friends
