I originally booked this resort in 2019 for a stay in 2020, due to the pandemic having to reschedule more than six times before finally being able to stay here in August 2022. The reservations team have always been understanding of the changing circumstances associated with the pandemic. After reading mixed recent reviews, I was worried that the earlier standard of this hotel had dropped - This was not the case at all. While the resort and area are still quieter than pre-pandemic levels, things are getting back on their feet with the locals and resort team so welcoming of tourists coming back to Bali. The staff at this property are second to none, going above and beyond at every opportunity – being more than happy to meet each and every request with a smile. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable – with the housekeeping team leaving personal touches daily to make you smile. The breakfast each morning has enough variety to keep the fussiest eaters satisfied. Considering the prices currently available at this resort, you cannot fault it.

Once we landed at the Bali airport, we made our way to the Sakala Resort Bali. We landed in the late evening and were quite hungry. We don’t know what to expect of the resort. Once we arrived, we were surprise as we were greeted by the Egyptian theme for the resort. It look really great especially at night. Not only that we were greeted by a helpful manager who was on duty that evening, mr Demmy who helped us checked in and brought us to our wonderful and spacious looking room. Not only that, since we were hungry, we were escorted to sakala beach club which is just beside the hotel to have our dinner. This was the beginning of a helpful manager who helped us with getting us a friendly English speaking drivers everyday. Not only that he gave us suggestions on what to do for our five days stay in Bali. He also suggested and accompanied us to get our basic necessities and snacks from a convenient store just 20m away from the resort. As days pass, we manage to converse a lot about the culture in Bali and love for animals. We end up watching a horror that was suggested by mr Demmy on our second last day who helped us booked the movie online as it was getting booked quick. Throughout our trip, mr Demmy was consistently sharing knowledge about the Bali culture and how to be safe during our stay. The room on the other hand was really great and spacious. Hope to come back soon with my love of my life with a better planned trip.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom pool villa with another couple. One villa is upstairs and one is downstairs. They have big double doors between the two villas that can be locked so it can be great if you have kids and want interconnecting rooms or you can close the doors and have two totally seperate villas which is a very cost effective way of doing it if sharing with another couple. The villa pool was great, not too hot, not too cold. The resort has two main pools, one is absolutely massive, it’s the biggest pool I’ve ever seen. It has a swim up bar and it looks like if you get a ground floor room, they have direct access to the pool via a small pool gate for each room. The other infinity pool was great, that was my favourite, it also has a swim up bar. You can go to the edge of the pool that is right on the beach and watch all the Watersport action on the beach which I enjoyed doing for hours. The barman there, Una, was very friendly and professional and served with a big Bali smile. He was up for a chat if you wanted one. We didn’t really eat at the motel much, we decided to venture out and help out the local warungs and restaurants instead as they’re all doing a great job recovering from the pandemic. Without us even asking, the resort duty manager arranged complimentary transport to a few restaurants that were a bit further up the road, that was greatly appreciated. The local mini mart is only 20 metres up the road where we stocked up on supplies. Overall, the resort is in excellent condition, the rooms are very clean, the bed was huge and comfortable, I had to call a taxi to get to the other side of the bed it was that big :-). As usual, the staff here made it what it was, everyone was so friendly, welcoming and would help in any way they could and always with that big beautiful Bali smile.

Lovely hotel resort and fabulous room right on the lagoon. I loved walking straight from my balcony and into the water each day! Infinity pool overlooking the beach is gorgeous and so many water sports options nearby... Make sure you do the 'Sea Walker'! Like most of Bali, Sakala is emerging from a couple of years of no tourists. It feels like there is plenty of staff, and will be wonderful when tourism ramps up again. Thanks for a lovely stay, nothing was too much trouble!

We just concluded our stay at the Sakala Resort Bali a few days ago, and I have to say that I was quite excited to write this review! What a beautiful and spacious hotel, and most importantly -- a very family-friendly one as well! As I travelled with my family and young kids, we were so pleased to find the staff so welcoming and accommodating, which started from the moment we checked in all the way to our daily activities and until the moment we check out. The best thing about Sakala are definitely their massive rooms: a kitchenette, separate living room, dining table, balcony, huge bathroom, and their heavenly beds! They also set up the sofabed for our little one in the living room, which was amazing as we can still see her from the bedroom, but have some privacy with the doors when needed. We got the direct pool access rooms, which meant we could jump right into the pool as we woke up in the morning. This is a DREAM! Just what we pictured a holiday in Bali would be like. The hotel pool ran all the way from one end to the other, kind of like a neverending lagoon which was so nice. We enjoyed and looked forward to breakfast, not only for the food but for the heartwarming staff whom always made an effort to chat with us everyday making sure our stay was nothing short of brilliant. For lunch, we would head over to the Sakala Beach Club on the beachside and we absolutely love the vibes there! Amazing architecture, refreshing big pool, chic restaurant area on the side, and the food never disappoints. We switched it up between dining at the restaurant or poolside, and we were always delighted with the view of the sands and the ocean. We even tried the watersports at the beach which was really fun! Definitely something to try out with the family when in Bali. All in all, our stay was unforgettable and we can't wait to come back on our next holiday! Shoutout to the Sakala team for trying their hardest to make each guests' stay a wonderful one, we know that the pandemic must have been hard on the both the staff and the resort. Thank you!!!!

Good sized suite with everything you could want. Big bathroom, bedroom, sitting and dining rooms, and kitchenette with fridge, stove and cooking equipment available to borrow at no extra cost. Though there were not many guests there when I visited, the staff made the effort to offer everything you could expect in busier times. The restaurant and bar were always open, though with a limited menu and there was an excellent breakfast spread delivered through room service each morning. Water and amenities were also of good quality and always refreshed. Front desk and restaurant staff were always kind and helpful, and particular thanks to Wawan Aditya who was a fantastic help in guiding me and organising my day trips around Bali. I had so much fun, it was well worth going, even in these times.

The resort it is nice and the employees are very helpful and friendly. Specially, Budi y Made whom look after us during all stay , both of them make us feel at home. The rooms are huge, clean and comfortable. The main pool is nice for children. The beach club is nice but the public beach is for water sports only.

Travellers beware! We had an extremely unpleasant experience at this hotel. Mouse in our room. Hotel was unclean. Dinner at the restaurant I was served uncooked chicken. I wanted to cancel my booking after 1 night and was refused any refund from the absent 'executive management' team. Awful, awful experience. I would strongly recommend you find a different hotel.

We went here in December 2020. I took my mum for a short holiday, we arrived before the check in time but they let us to do early check in because they saw my mother was very tired and it was a big help. The view was beautiful, the room was spacious and very clean, they have 2 pools in 2 different areas. Breakfast was great.

Absolutely horrific. The Bar staff, restaurant staff and pool boys amazing, the good review stops there. horrific check in experience and horrific check out experience everything in between just added to it. Not only was this hotel run down to the ground but the facilities at the hotel were mostly closed and the staff at the main lobby were unbelievably rude. Firstly when arriving i was told it was not normal to not have a credit card and that without having one i would have to put down a substantial amount of cash as a deposit because they couldn't take a deposit for the room on a debit card, unlike the first hotel were a debit card was more than satisfactory. We only had a small amount of cash on us and had to go to the bank/ATM before we could check in, due to not having a credit card. On to the hotel itself, my girlfriend wanted to take a bath, upon running the bath, the water came out brown and muddy. We took pictures of this and went to reception to complain and was told it would be sorted - I can confirm this wasn't sorted. We were given a half hearted apology and no fix happened. When going to a 5* star hotel my girlfriend wanting to have a bath and relax seemed more than reasonable however this wasn't possible due to the brown muddy water. We had a safe box in our room, this from the get go didn't work. We finally got our belongings into the safe, and managed to lock the safe. We tried to open the safe the following morning to get our money and valuables out before we started our day. This wasn't possible, the safe would not open. i called reception to get the safe open so we could start our day, after calling reception constantly for over an hour, during which my girlfriend had been sat by the pool all morning waiting to go out, a man eventually turned up to open the safe and told me to put my belongings in my suitcase as i would need to wait until the evening for a technician to fix the safe. The safe didnt get fixed for 5 days... When booking the holiday we were sold two 5* hotels, The Sakala hotel was sold with pool bars, a fully functioning restaurant, a Spa and beach club. The restaurant was only open for breakfast and then closed for the rest of the day. The only place we could eat in the day or evening was the Beach club. The menu consisted of no cocktails, frozen seafood, and a burger, pizza and pasta... After asking if the food was fresh we were told it was frozen, even though the local fishermen were 50metres from the beach club. The Spa was not open, pool bars not open and falling apart and surprise, also not open. The beach club and hotel had roofs falling down, smashed windows, glass and rubble all over, the pictures you get shown are not an accurate representation of this hotel. We had to leave the resort each day and get a 45min to an hour taxi into Seminyak as the hotel was so disappointing. When leaving ANGGA IS THE RUDEST MANAGER I have ever met.
