By no means a stunning view to the sea and Kavarna bay, stretching all infront of the flats hall area. Calithea is detached from all around, which served our purpose for a holiday place, where distancing is possible. Offers self catering spacious condos, all facing the sea. Very kind and helpful owners and staff on site. Generally Calithea is a brilliant option for exploring the North Black sea coast. Must be kept in mind that the the closest beach is 2 km away, which is better to be skipped imho, a discent one can be found 15 km away, so car is a must. The only shortcoming to me was the invasion of reaper insects. Plenty of them, making night stay at the terrace impossible. I would advise some desinsection measures to be taken.
I have stayed there in August 2017, with my family (2 kids) . I was accompanied also by my sisters with their families. I have enjoyed my stay very much. I had a one bedroom apartment and my sisters a two bedroom apartment. The apartment was very clean with very comfortable furniture. in the apartment fridge, kitchen, coffee machine, toaster, washing machine and iron are available if you need them. We did not as we ate at the restaurant on the beach. We have received on the house a bottle of wine and a bottle of water, very nice gesture! It is a little far from the beach, is a 20 min walk down hill and then you have to climb back:). It is better to take the car. You can rent for free bikes from the complex. All in all it was a very nice stay. If they decide to build a pool , I will definitely come back.…
Nice clean building for a short stay with friends or extended family. Not exactly designed for families with little children or groups of teens searching for nightlife, but perfect for spending quality time and reconnect with good friends and dear ones in a quiet location with fantastic views. Self-catering to be considered, Very nice owner/personnel. Restaurants, shops, beach far below, to be reached by car only. The area and village you have to pas on the way is desolate (typical post-communist building style of private owners considering tourism another business to try out). But in the end, the location is worth it.
A little far from the beach, you can reach the car only if you are not a hiker ... There are a rented apartment, there is no reception and you have to announce the arrival but it is clean, spacious rooms and especially a view to the great sea.
Black Cat - White Cat should have been filmed on the road to Calithea. The road to this building winds through a gypsy village with men with tatoos and moustaches and 15y souped BMW wearing ladies sandals. Horses, dogs and naked children in abundance. Once you reach the cliff you can see the building. Decent, but is that it? Was it worth the trip? Down the road you can spot a beach full of people (mostly locals I suspect) flanked by 3-4 unfinished buildings. The manager was nice as he quickly understood this was not for us and offered to re-imburse us. If you've never seen any other coast or the sea, this may seem paradise. If you've seen a bit of it, you may laugh and run back from it.
