My partner and I had the pleasure of staying here for one night in November. The hosts were wonderful and the room was very comfortable. The hosts had excellent knowledge of the town and the surrounding area. We only stayed while hiking though, but I think this hotel would be a good base for exploration fo the area.

I went to this pretty hotel to join a painting week with my friend Enrique Linaza, a famous artist living in Malaga. I enjoyed everything: the calm and coosy atmosphere of the village and of this beautiful hotel in a strategic place overlooking a breathtaking panorama. We had our painting sessions on the roof terrasse enjoying the blue sky and... More

We stayed there for 3 nights and used it as a base to spend a day in Ronda and a day at the coast. This is a wonderful respite to come back to after trudging around with the tourist masses. The property is relatively new and immaculate in a charming little village, whoops, pueblo, in the group of 7 "Pueblos... More

Cartajima is a picture perfect white village in its own right, but it is a good base to explore the White Villages, and only fifteen or so minutes from Ronda. Los Castanos is a charming and comfortable small hotel or inn and the mountain views from the hotel's rooms and rooftop terrace are amazing. In addition, the hosts, Di and... More

Unfortunately we only stayed for one night, while walking in the area on our honeymoon. This was the ideal place to turn up to hot and dusty. Calmness oozed from the fabric of the building. Lovely friendly hosts and a comfortable room. After sampling the excellent gin selection and a great simple meal it was a shame we had to... More

This is a wonderful, charming inn located perfectly for exploring the White Villages. The property is beautiful, with every amenity one would want. Di and John are outstanding hosts, making us feel very much welcome and at home. Di is a magnificent cook, and dining at Los Castanos is the very best option for your stay in Cartajima. I hope... After driving up a winding road with beautiful views of the mountainous landscape, we arrived at Los Castanos to a gourmet-like meal made with local ingredients, 2 very warm hosts and a place of respite and beauty. Di and John are very responsive to requests about food, inquiries about local hiking and walks. All the spaces, both public and the... More

We have just come back from two and a half weeks in Spain and we visited Los Castanos mid-trip after Barcelona, Madrid and Seville. It was a welcome respite after being in all these wonderful cities.
