You are in need for a quite retreat than this is the location for your holiday. Especially the evening sunset is something special. Remember to organise some food supplies beforehand since it is some driving back to the next grocery store.

Mike and Linley were the most amazing hosts who's greatest priority is that their guests and their staff are happy. This idyllic location with wonderful facilities was the best of our many stays across New Zealand. An excellent water pick up service provided by Mike and a cup of tea with a chat and ANZAC biscuits from Linley were a... More

We stayed here for 5 nights and had a fantastic time. We had a King bedroom with a brand new bed overlooking the Keneperu sounds - we enjoyed our coffee in bed each morning enjoying the views. The hosts were amazing and made the stay very relaxing. The shared facilities were close to the room and extremely clean. The kitchen... More

Do to a small booking snafu, my friend and I stayed on the single private campsite. It was just above the water, so soothing sounds to fall asleep to. We were greeted with tea and coffee (which was refreshing after driving up from Dunedin and taking the water taxi across). Then we were invited to help collect mussels for the... More

The hosts here are a beacon of shining kiwi hospitality and deserve recognition ... Thank you! Highly recommend visiting this location in our delightful Marlborough Sounds - easy access via ferry/ water taxi although seaplane appeals to us as well ds

We were given an ensuite room, comfy king sized bed, so close to the beach we could hear the water lapping the shore. The surroundings are just beautiful and the bird-life is wonderful. Both myself and my wife are over 70 and we enjoyed the walks and water activities that are on offer. Our hosts Lynley and Mike were most... More

We were lucky enough to spend five nights here with a group of seven of us. The rooms were tidy well kept rooms. Rooms were well equipped with everything required there. Mussel nights are great we had two. The location is great, we had two or more swims each day, as well as a Kayak or paddle board each day.... More

Really enjoyed our 2 day stay here for our friends wedding at Raetihi. Wonderful hosts, Lynley was very welcoming and helpful. Everything was very clean and a lovely comfortable bed with crisp linen. An ensuite would make it perfect, but not a big issue. Great guest kitchen lounge area which was a great meeting place. Lovely park like setting all... More

A friend raved about Hopewell Lodge while we were planning our New Zealand trip. She told us not to make the mistake of only booking only a night or two. So we booked four nights and our only regret was not booking more time! We had an absolutely fantastic experience. From the moment we arrived, Lynely and Mike made us... More

Our favourite place to stay in NZ. We've stayed here a few times now, most recently with our two young children. The hosts are helpful and polite and the grounds are well maintained. So many activities, good accommodation, and great facilities. I would recommend to water taxi in from across the sounds rather than go by road.
