The person who checked me in was very friendly, reminding me that, had I any problems, I could dial reception. The room I was given was scrupulously clean, towels well laundered, shower and sink clean. Adequate tea/coffee facilities and a pleasant view. Some of the other reviews mention surly staff. While the hotel was empty when I visited, on asking...

Easy to locate..plenty of parking spaces..room was a little small and an unusual shape with the tiniest tv screen..only 1 key between the 2 of us..reception was very helpful as was restaurant staff..breakfast itself was ok but had a pizza in the Birnam Bar which was fantastic and well priced.

Not having stayed at the hotel but visiting family in Birnam I have been visiting the hotel bar over the last few days. The staff are very friendly, accommodating and helpful and it's a very nice setting to have a drink or some food. I love the grandeur of the hotel as a building but without great staff that would...

We have actually stayed in the Birnam Hotel twice in the last few months. It offers a blend of old world charm with modern dining and modern facilities. The hotel itself is a brisk walk from the centre of Dunkeld and offers a lovely walk over the river on a crisp Sunday morning. The rooms are clean and comfortable with...

We have been going up to Birnam & Dunkeld for many years and love the chilled out atmosphere. It was our 43rd Wedding anniversary and my youngest Son's 32nd Birthday so we booked the Birnam Hotel as we have done before. The Hotel staff excelled themselves this time by giving some thought to the occasions - My Wife and I...

We stayed here one night for a concert at the arts centre across the road As the Edinburgh reviewer says, it's a grand old Edwardian hotel that must cost a fortune to heat and has seen better days...but it was comfortable and spotlessly clean and we gad a good breakfast Staff very nice too And was cheap at £75 for...

The Birnam is one of those old Scottish Baronial style hotels that are very common in the Highlands, and it is of a grand scale and historic style. We got a very good deal for our off season room, and as such, feel it was good value for money. We had a good sized room, which wasn't particularly beautiful, but...
