Fine old slightly chic hotel but rather too many antique artefacts so room felt cluttered. Proprietor not able to advise on excursions or assist in organising day trips. Food and drink expensive, for example about $45 for simple continental breakfast, and other meals not

I don't understand your remarks. We take care of all the activity bookings for our guests. Just ask. There is an activities corner with all the useful informations. The same informations are given at the reception. We offer all possible activities in Moorea. However, February is the low season, many providers are closed. It's possible that we could not respond to a particular request but you would have had the same problem in any hotel in Moorea. Continental breakfast costs USD 41. It consists of an assortment of pastries and breads cooked in our kitchens, local fruit jams prepared by us, an impressive assortment of fresh fruit, freshly squeezed fruit juice, ham and cheese, yogurts and hot drinks at choices and at will. The tables are beautifully decorated with fresh flowers and the service is particularly neat. You blame us that dinners were not possible but if you found the breakfast too expensive, I think it was better that you choose small restaurants or snack offering "something else". We offer "magical" dinners as readers can see by seeing the many photos on our facebook page and other photos on Tripadvisor. The many comments from our guests show that a dinner at Fenua Mata'i'oa is a unique experience. But it's useless to talk about it because our restaurant was closed during your stay .... Regarding the hotel itself, it has a very particular style. However, the photos of our website, of our facebook page as well as those just as numerous on Tripadvisor and other sites leave no doubt about the style of the place. If you don't like, why book? I hope you have enjoyed the magical night that saw the opening of dozens of "beautiful night" in your interior garden .... I also hope you have enjoyed the welcome cocktails and flower necklaces as well as the starting gifts .... Our hotel is the favorite place for lovers of art, beauty, originality and discoveries. It's a place created for epicureans and our guests don't only seek to "lodge" but to live a unique experience. If you have not felt anything, we regret it but I think we have nothing to do with it.

We wanted to stay in one the of fancy Tahitian Bungalows over the water, but most were very expensive and required a 3 night minimum, making it more expensive. Fenua Mata'i'oa was a great less expensive option. We stayed in the room on the end (can't remember the name right

The Good: The location is fantastic! It is very near where the sharks and rays are so you can kayak there easily or you can even walk out about 100 yards at low tide which was around 5am when we were there and saw the sharks swimming. There are also tons of fish right off the

You are right for my answer .... However, I am surprised, after the flattering mail you sent me, that you make this criticism ... My hotel was wonderful ... until you have found that I had charged the rental of kayaks ... When I confirm a reservation, I enclose all our rates, meals, activities and benefits. I take about 30 minutes to install my clients in their suites and I give again all the useful information. In all suites, there is a book detailing all the services as well as the list of all rates ... I will not explain again the price of our dinners. I invite you to read the comments of people who do not confuse a "magic" table in a luxurious place with a "snack". However, I want to thank you for your comment. Indeed, it allows me to make a selection of my clients. People who read your comment and compare it to those who love our hotel, have understood very well that the Fenua Mata'i'oa is reserved for "epicureans". And as you announced, I wish you a lot of happiness and I am sincere. Everything that is done here is with love and passion. You were amazed .... it was magic !!! and suddenly, on the pretext that you did not know that kayak rentals were charged ... my hotel gets an unpleasant review. You left without even thanking us for the gifts ... and without even greeting us. In addition, I have difficulty understanding your comparison with a home "airbnb" ..... In a rental "airbnb" you have no service ... It is unthinkable that we can compare a hotel with seasonal rentals ... I think you have made a mistake and believe that I regret it. In Moorea, there are offers for all budgets and styles. We offer a very different hotel style and at the risk of repeating myself, this place is reserved for epicureans. As you say, you prefer to eat a "great steak" and fries. It's cheap and it feeds .... We do not propose that. Really, I'm sorry that in the end you made this comment. You were expecting my answer ... and I was expecting your comment ... I wish you a wonderfull year 2019.

We recently spent 4 nights at this hotel and found it cozy and personable. There is no pool or beach but there is a lovely patio overlooking the beautiful aqua water and it’s easy to jump in for a dip. Eileen has several cute sitting areas for guests to enjoy including a roof
