My friend and me had a great time on Aruba while staying at villa Bougainvillea. Very nice host (gave us the best restaurant tips), comfortable and huge rooms, friendly funny dogs and a great pool. Very quiet surrounding. Would totally recommend that place!

Paradise on Earth. An intimate, immaculate hideaway for people who value island yin and yang, peace and quite, and bang for the buck. Located in the "Noord" district (where the weather's always good, compared to the sometimes cloudy - albeit still sunny - SSE parts of Aruba), this is clearly the place to be if you simply want to get away from it all, commune with nature (and Rona's four doggies), but still have everything you need or want within easy reach. Rona, your housemother, is a peach and has opened her property to a maximum of three couples who can enjoy the beautifully kept grounds without bumping into each other all the time ... but who can easily commune over drinks and a shared barbeque bash if they so desire. The local food stores are a match for anything you have back home, so no need to pack junk. And the restaurants are divine ... just ask Rona. Villa Bougainvillea is perhaps not a place for honeymoon couples - for that, there are the overpriced, oversized, overpopulated, beachfront, high-/low-rise monstrosities replete with casinos (and the corresponding hoi polloi) just down the road a piece. Rather, it's a place for aesthetes. Period. You will not be disappointed.

We saw the ad for this villa in the Destination magazine and what a find. Stayed there for three days this January before our timeshare was available. Rona was a wonderful host and the property was just beautiful. Our villa was exactly as pictured on the net. She even offered cold beers and snacks the evening we arrived. Room was lovely, the pool was great...even a grill on the property to use...would highly recommend this.

Villa Bougainvillea was the 3rd and last part of our 8 day vacation in Aruba. This was also the first time we stayed on vacation in more than one location, and on top of that 2 of the 3 locations were rentals - including VB. It's a different experience than staying even at a small hotel or of course at a big resort, and even between the two vacation rentals they felt completely different as well - in short they are a unique experience as each place is different and the hosts make it even more unique - all of which adds up to a great experience at Villa Bougainvillea :) Location; located in a peaceful affluent residential area of Aruba in the north - basically 5 minute drive to the farthest north tip of Aruba .No walking distance to the grocery stores but about 5-10 minute drive the opposite direction of the shore (you will understand once you are there hehe) and you have plenty of Supermarkets etc. - two great restaurants close by (quick 5-10 minute drive north and "east") for fine dining/sunset and nice daily breeze with a view are Faro Blanco (next to the California Lighthouse) and Tierra del Sol at the golfing community. Room; perfectly functional place comes fully equipped with a fridge, mini stove, silverware etc., clean and spacious bathroom with a shower running both hot and cold water (you know what I mean haha) the beds are good and the AC is the best we had ever, supper efficient and super low noise :) WiFI is of course free and there is a TV (if that's a must for you...) Facilities/Hotel Grounds/Entertainment: beautiful pool at your disposal available 24h and super personal and organized backyard makes it very pleasant and inviting especially in the evening to relax without driving or walking anywhere anymore :) the doggies are always funny and entertaining to interact with too. There is also a Weber grill so you can also grill/bbq outside if you are into that on the vacation. Beach & Water: you have walking distance to Malmok Beach (more of a snorkeling rocky type of beach without true sandy shore) as it's literally at the intersection where the Malmok Beach parking is, 5 minute drive to Boca Catalina (similar concept just deeper), 10 minute drive to Arashi Beach (very pretty sandy beach). Going south about 5 minute drive is Hadicurari Beach (great for water sports) and withing 10 minutes you are at Palm Beach (add another 5 and you will find your self at Eagle Beach). To drive all the way to Baby Beach is about 40 minute drive - depending on the traffic around the cruise port as that tends to slow down during the day Overall: Rona, the host, is a very nice person and her doggies (there were 4 at the time we rented) are super friendly - don't get intimidated as they aren't the smallest ones and every now and then argue with one another (they are adopted doggies and it's quite outstanding how well they get along) but have big hearts :) very well organized place and very practical if you want to stay in the north close to Eagle/Palm beaches but you don't want to break the budget or simply don't like the crowds. TIP: do some homework on the restaurant on TripAdvisor as we did, there are many great restaurants withing 10 minute drive at most (you can see my other reviews as I tried to be as helpful as possible)

We had a great visit to Villa Bougainvillea during the last week of August! The Samba Suite was perfect for my wife and I along with our 9 year old daughter. The simple studio style room was great for us to unwind in and sleep at night, but the pool and landscaping were absolutely amazing. At the big resorts, you never get to relax in such quiet beauty and just enjoy bird watching and swimming in the pool. The only thing better than the pool area was the Rona's hospitality! The housekeeper and pool cleaner were super nice too. What an awesome surprise to come back from the beach and find that the housekeeper washed and folded up all of our dirty clothes! The Malmok and Boca Catalina beaches were right nearby and we loved snorkeling at both spots. We all loved all of Rona's sweet dogs, and my daughter really missed them when we moved on to the low rise area. Thanks for the great visit Rona!
