Tintern itself has a lovely Abbey which is floodlit at night. The Anchor serves an excellent dinner. The Old Rectory is run by very generous hosts who want you to feel spoiled. The rooms are delightful. Our en suite had a lovely deep bath, super fast running water. Also had a little area outside to sit. The towels were soft,... More

A very enjoyable stay while we were visiting the area. Tintern has a good range of pubs, bars and cafes within walking distance and is well placed for touring further afield. Ian and Anika were very welcoming and run a great B&B with well-equipped bedrooms that have more character than you will find elsewhere. Breakfast was a real highlight and... More

On arrival made most welcome in family suite. Two pensioner ladies enjoyed the accommodation. Breakfast was great, if bewildering as Anika enthused about everything, so didn't know where to start.! All was good. Ian was a very attentive host. We had a meal cooked by them at our request in the evening, Lovely except the squash with leak sauce-- gritty. Overall... More

We stayed at the back of the building and were given a beautiful room with an en-suite and a little corridor through to a second bedroom. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and the bedding was lovely. There were nice touches, such as beautiful white robes in the wardrobe and pretty toiletries in the... More

We stayed again at the Old Rectory on a visit from Cheshire to Bristol. Lovely to see Anika and Ian again. Same lovely bedroom with nice toiletries. Great view of the Wye Yalley. Wonderful, wonderful breakfast. There was also the addition of jam, marmalade and honey for sale. Highly recommended.

My Husband & I stayed here for 2 nights together with an elderly friend. One of the owners, Ian, was holding the fort as his wife was away. We were immediately struck by his friendly welcome and eagerness to tell us about the area etc. Our room was comfortable, clean and had a lovely view of the river. The en-suite... More

I stayed here on my wedding night and this place is simply wonderful. Tintern is a sleepy, romantic village steeped in history with a majestic abbey and the river Wye curling through it.. The Tintern Old Rectory reflects that with its quirky and chintzy decoration done to exacting standards. It's just enough old world quirk to be charming and just enough... More

We just stayed one night here in a room overlooking the River Wye. The room was very comfortable and there is a lovely lounge downstairs packed with books, guidebooks and maps of the area. Ian cooked a brilliant breakfast and made us most welcome indeed. We will be back!!

We stayed for 3 nights in July. Anika and Ian were most welcoming. The suite room we had was not the usual boring bedroom you normally get in b&bs. It was large, very homely and the bathroom beautifully tiled. The bedroom even had a separate door with its own entrance to the outside with a little table and two chairs.... More

Lovely welcome to a house full of charm and character. Room comfy and clean and supplied with all the little extras which make a stay special. Breakfast was superb with the most extensive choice of juices and jams we've ever seen. Only drawback was the parking being a little too close to the bend in a main road.
